204 “So we are really going to sleep like this?”

Yi Chen bit his lower lip staring at him with a smile in his eyes. “So you don’t trust me?” asked Yi Chen while placing his hand above Zi Han’s head.

“Can you be trusted?” asked Zi Han with a slight smile at the corner of his lips.

“I can be trusted, you on the other hand....,” replied Yi Chen brushing Zi Han’s hair with his thumb.

Zi Han couldn’t believe Yi Chen had just said that. How come he never knew that Yi Chen was so shameless? Zi Han pushed him off and Yi Chen moved over to his side of the boundary of pillows.

Lying on his side he pulled down one of the pillows and smiled as he watched Zi Han lying on his back on the other side.

“So we are really going to sleep like this?” asked Yi Chen feeling aggrieved.

Zi Han closed his eyes and ignored him but Yi Chen didn’t give up. His hand carefully slipped towards the other side of the border underneath the quilt and once his fingertips touched Zi Han a mischievous smile crept up his face.

He went in through Zi Han’s t-shirt but the person who was pretending to be asleep just now grasped his hand and turned his head slightly to look at him before saying, “You really don’t want your hand anymore do you?”

Zi Han lay on his side loosening his grip on Yi Chen’s hand but he didn’t let go. With his one hand over Yi Chen’s, he said, “Sleep.”

Zi Han might be calm or at least acting like he was but Yi Chen was the opposite. How could his brain sleep on command when his sweetheart was sleeping right next to him? He always prided himself on being calm and emotionally sound but here he was freaking out over sharing a bed with Zi Han.

For a long time, Yi Chen kept staring at their hands that were joined together. He couldn’t cuddle Zi Han to sleep but he was happy with the compromise.

His joyous mood was brought forth to the next day. He hadn’t slept well and had obvious panda eyes but everyone could clearly see he was in an excellent mood.

He didn’t sleep well because Zi Han was truly a terrible sleeper. This is why he wanted to cuddle him in the first place. He would not only kick at the quilt but also at him like he was dreaming of himself fighting someone.

Despite surviving a grievous battle at night Captain Chen was ready to lead his team to victory.

“I will come to find you as soon as I complete my task, okay,” said Yi Chen while fixing Zi Han’s gear.

“Captain Chen, why are you so confident that you will finish before me?” said Zi Han with a smirk on his face, “How about I come to find you?”

Yi Chen let out a throaty chuckle before responding, “Even better. I would like to be your damsel.”

A few feet from these two, Li Ran couldn’t take the dog food being sprinkled on his face like it was Christmas but the two girls standing next to him were beaming with excitement like this was the reason they were breathing.

“Ugh... I can’t watch this,” he said only for Hela to interject,

“Why are Yi Chen’s lips swollen? It looks like a lip hickey.”

“Maybe he bumped into something?” said Li Ran unwilling to delve into this subject.

“Weren’t you there when it happened?” asked Shannon but Li Ran refused to answer.

“I have a theory,” said Hela looking at Li Ran, “You can just nod your head if I am right.”

Li Ran, “???”

How badly did she want to confirm her ship was sailing? Well, the answer is badly. She was like those netizens who read into every single detail on a celebrity’s post just to confirm their relationship with so and so.

Who could blame her when she invested so much into the ChenHan or Shannon’s preferred name, HanChen CP?

“Let me guess... yesterday you seemed off like you had seen something you shouldn’t have. Did really see something you shouldn’t?” said Hela moving so close to Li Ran the smile on her face mesmerizing. Li Ran kept his mouth shut simply staring at her entranced.

“Did you happen to walk in on a certain pair possibly....,” she said in a whisper before Shannon finished it of her for her,

“Stay away from me temptress,” he said to Hela as though casting out devils. He felt like his expression will divulge all the details thus he decisively dashed away.

Shannon, “They totally kissed.”

Hela, “Yep.... and Zi Han left a mark.”

Shannon, “Hehe, marking his territory.”

Hela, “We might as well marry them off.”

Shannon, “I want to see Zi Han in a white dress.”

Shaun and Shorty standing behind them, “...”

“That is freaking terrifying,” murmured Shorty in fear of these fujoshis.

“Be careful not to annoy Shannon. Last night I ate her croissant and she gave me a devilish grin while saying I am next,” said Shaun recalling that terrifying scene.

“Next for what?” whispered Shorty while looking at Shannon with a probing gaze.

“What do you think?” replied Shaun unwilling to be these girls’ next target.

Good thing the military personnel meant to brief them arrived and everyone scattered standing in their team.

Yi Chen reluctantly left Zi Han not forgetting to give Evan a warning glance. Unlike most Evan didn’t back down. He stared back with a taunting expression.

His father after the pool incident told him to pick his battles and this training exam was it. He wanted to prove that he was the best thus he was prepared to take on Yi Chen and come out at the top.

“Ladies and gentlemen, your task for this exam is quite simple....,” said a short woman as a floating screen displayed a rotating planet surrounded by violent comets.

“This is Dark Star and on it are devices that are a significant threat to Onyx Federation. You should be proud that before you even enlist you are being bestowed upon a very important task.”

The floating screen changed and an image of a circular device appeared on the screen.

“Your job is to retrieve these devices. Whichever team manages to gather the most.... will be granted the highest medal of honor, Minerva’s crown and they will be eligible for a mech upgrade at the expense of the military.”
