131 The origins of the Royal family

Seconds turned to minutes and minutes turned into an hour with Yi Chen sitting down in one spot without moving. That’s because he had just received the shock of his life.

The royal family was deemed as gods walking among men for thousands of years. That’s because when the earth was dying and everything was descending in chaos this family had been planning for a mass exodus. They had confidence that they could find humans a better home.

They possessed the ability to facilitate space jumps and could navigate through vast galaxies. It was a special talent that no one outside this family could master.

When everyone was desperate and saw no hope the Yeoh family rose from underneath the sand with a new generation spaceship with technology beyond their time. They shared these plans with the world and two more spaceships were built using every available resource on earth.

As the earth breathed it’s last the exodus began. Because of what they had done for the human race the Yeoh family became the reigning monarch for thousands of years.

The wealth of the federation and all its occupied planets were a result of the leadership of the Yeoh family. But as time went on the royal family was designed by evildoers and greedy forces that had sprouted within the top brass of the federation.

Despite the people living relatively comfortable lives and having vast opportunities to grow they began to demand the royal family be stripped away of its power and participation in political matters.

The Yeoh family agreed and an elective government was put in place. The only thing they refused was to give up the archives containing navigation charts collected for generations and Igneous. The prime ministers were also required to consult the Emperor before making big decisions.

This went on for a while and the prime ministers’ dissatisfaction festered. They used the people to further their agenda.

.....

No one spoke about it but the prime minister’s claim about it being unfair for one family to hold so much power was bullshit. They only wanted to siphon as much wealth as possible and strengthen their own families and the Emperor was the only one stopping them.

When the emperor died they turned their attention to the prince. They wanted to force the charts out of him and grab Igneous hence putting an end to the monarch. But who would have thought the young prince would die such a tragic death before they could get what they wanted from him.

Soon after they ransacked the imperial palace and searched every inch of it but there was nothing. Even the royal mech couldn’t be found. The imperial palace had long burnt down to the ground and no one knew who did it. The rubble of the imperial palace became the symbol of a fallen dynasty.

Most celebrated the new era but as the gap between the wealthy and poor grew bigger and bigger some began to regret it. Within the shadows of Starnet, there was a small clique of people who believed the phoenix would rise from the ashes in the not-so-distant future.

This belief was considered a conspiracy theory by plenty and they never took those people seriously. The royal family was dead and a memory of the previous era. How could only a phoenix rise when there were no ashes anymore.

Now that Yi Chen had seen the ashes he now knew that it wasn’t a conspiracy but a fact. Zi Han could only possess Igneous because he was the royal highness’s son.

Just like Hydra and Chronos, Igneous was linked to the direct bloodline of that family. This meant no one outside that bloodline could activate let alone operate those mechs.

As to why no one else had identified Igneous despite it hanging around Zi Han’s neck it was because only a few people had seen the storage pendants of the three calamities.

It was mostly the family members and possibly associates who could identify them. Even Yi Chen couldn’t identify it despite having seen it around Zi Han’s neck. The Marshal would probably recognize Igneous at a glance but the problem was that he had never been around Zi Han long enough to see it.

Yi Chen’s mind was a chaotic mess as he slumped back on his chair looking defeated. Why did the only person he was interested in turn out to be of royal blood?

Was he so unlucky in love? If this relationship actually takes root and the prime ministers found out Zi Han’s identity the Yi family might suffer the same fate as the Yeoh family.

Yi Chen closed his eyes trying to calm his tumultuous thoughts when a distinct beeping sound came from his light brain. Unwilling to even open his eyes for a second he asked, “Raylan, read the notification for me.”

“Okay, sir.... you have one message from HandsomeHan and it reads; are you okay?” said the AI reading the message out loud.

Yi Chen’s eyes opened abruptly and there were noticeable emotional fluctuations in his black eyes. He displayed the message on the floating screen and read with complicated feelings.

Zi Han had just taken the chance when his mother was raiding the bar for something to drink to send Yi Chen a message. Because his grandfather was still pissed they couldn’t go back home yet thus his mother booked a hotel nearby for the night.

He lightly glanced in his mother’s direction and when he saw that she had her head lowered with a cigarette stuck in between her lips he opened his light brain again. It showed that the message had been read but there was no response as of yet.

Feeling slightly disquieted he wanted to write another message but his mother called out to him. “Han Han, do you want to drink juice, milkshake or soda?” she asked while scratching the side of her nose with a wisp of cigarette floating around her.

“I will have what you are having,” he replied while typing at the same time.

HandsomeHan: I am so sorry about my mother.

HandsomeHan: Don’t be angry anymore.

After typing this he heard his mother respond hence he hurriedly locked his light brain before grabbing the remote and pretending to watch the news.

Zi Xingxi was pouring out something while saying, “I am drinking.... are you sure you can handle it?”

“En,” replied Zi Han but his mind wasn’t in the moment at all. He was thinking about his light brain that had been as silent as a chicken.

Zi Xingxi came over with two wine glasses but instead of sitting by the couch she went to the balcony and set the glasses on a small glass table in between two sun loungers. With a loud sigh, she sat on the sun lounger and put her feet up.

Zi Han hesitated for a moment before walking over and sitting on the second sun lounger. He could see a tiny red flame in the dim light as his mother took a long drag of her cigarette.
