CH 13.2

Name:Sweet Alpha Author:
Serbia (part 2)

Editor: MinMin

The current time was eight-thirty in the evening. The night was deep. The youth sat on a stone, and the campfire illuminated his side profile, reflecting the deserted field behind him.

There was what seemed to be an abandoned factory or a desolate ruin in the background.

The young man did not speak but rotated the meat silently. Those smoky-ashe eyes were very pretty.

Texts began to fly across the bullet screen with messages like, [Why isn’t the host saying anything?], or [Host, say something].

Reading the bullet screen, the silver-haired young man pursed his lips as if he wanted to speak but said nothing.

When facing the camera, he seemed to be a little camera shy, dodging away slightly. An introvert maybe.

Someone posted: [Host, if you say something, I will smash a rocket in your way.]

One rocket was equivalent to one thousand star coins.

Light flickered in the young man’s gray eyes as he uttered, “Tha-Thank you…”

His voice was as smooth as water, like music to one’s ears.

The bullet screen went wild again with [Such a nice sounding voice], before the person who made the request did as promised and donated a rocket.

Another person asked: [Host, what is your name? Tell us, and I will smash one in your way as well.]

The young man whispered, “…Serbia.”

When the people behind the bullet screen saw his response, they became excited and began to inquire about his age, gender, and whether or not he is single…Serbia answered one by one, but only when some special privacy issues were involved; he would not answer, no matter how much the bullet screen begged.

Ryan learned that Serbia is an alpha, just turned twenty-six this year, and is unmarried.

He probably needed money—a desperate situation that pushed him into live-stream zerg hunting to attract viewers.

This young man probably did not know that his face was more attractive than the zerg.

Ryan was pondering over one question.

There were still some remnants of zerg eggs in the lower three districts of the Empire, which would give birth to some weak zerg. These zergs were weak and generally not a match for an alpha. They could only cause some disturbance to the ordinary residents in the lower three districts, nothing colossal.

Some mercenaries also earn bounties by hunting zerg.

The other did not think anything of it. They were not from the lower three districts, so they did not realize that the zerg hunted by Serbia was not what the lower three districts had to offer.

Ryan, however, knew.

Yan Weiliang knew.

The zergs were defeated by Chu Yuwen ten years ago. If there were a strong Zerg planet other than their stronghold planet these days, it was… the Empire’s Tenth District.

It was a prohibited area.

Ryan tapped on his optical computer and donated a spaceship.

A spaceship was equivalent to ten thousand star coins. Even after deduction from the platform handling fee, the host could pocket eight thousand.

That was enough for an ordinary family in the middle three districts to live on for a year.

The account Chu Yuwen created for him was unlimited, and the amount could be withdrawn at his discretion. This man was very generous with his omega.

Yan Weiliang even wanted to squander all his family fortune so that Chu Yuwen would be poor enough to live the life of a beggar on the street.

… But that was only a wishful dream.

Serbia was shocked to see such a large amount. The bullet screen had started sending messages like [Shocking rich local tyrant], [Begging the local tyrant to send support this way].

Serbia stammered, “Did yo-you make a mistake? You can private message me your account, and I will return the money to you…”

This young man, who was extremely short of money, even thought about whether someone else had entered the wrong amount.

Even if it was, for most people, the money was already in their own pockets, so there was no way they were going to spit it back out.

Serbia’s remark also convinced Ryan that he was helping the right person.

He typed a sentence in the message box and posted it.

An: [No, this is for you.]

Serbia was somewhat nervous. “Then, what do you want me to do? Do you have a question you want me to answer? I’m sorry, but I may be unable to answer some of your questions..”

An: [No.]

Serbia was stunned. It appeared that he did not expect such a good thing to happen to him.

Ryan did not keep watching because it was almost nine o’clock. He had to go downstairs to meet Chu Yuwen and give the appearance of tiredness from waiting and excitement about his husband’s return.

He helped Serbia because he thought that this young man, who could kill a full-grown zerg with his bare hands, was a strong fighter with at least S-level combat power.

But to be living in poverty to this degree, he must have no power behind him.

If Yan Weiliang did not recruit this kind of talent, why not just let Serbia continue living off of streaming?

It was just that this young man seemed to hold many secrets. He doubted it would be as easy as offering an olive branch, as the chance of the boy accepting his aid was low. He would just send money to the young man and become his local tyrant first.

It would be embarrassing to refuse financial support, as everything must be considered.

Serbia suddenly received a large sum of money and wanted to thank the person, but found that the viewer was no longer active in the bullet screen.

…It appeared An had left the live stream.

Serbia silently made note of the ‘An’ ID.

Joel went out and continued with his work instead of telling Chu Yuwen that Ryan was waiting for his return.

Lord Marshal was in charge of all kinds of affairs every day. Why bother the man about such trifles? Joel had not forgotten Ryan’s unfading suspicion. How could he show respect for someone from the bottom of his heart if the individual had an unknown origin that could be harmful to Lord Marshal?

That omega should just be good and obedient. But if he had the idea that he could be spoiled and move the Marshal’s heart, oh, how wrong he was.

And what was the busy Lord Marshal doing at this moment?

…He was watching live streams of people eating.

Chu Yuwen was not very busy. The situation was still maintaining a superficial peace while he left other things to be handled by his subordinates. What they give him was usually filtered as important information.

So he was very free at work.

He was just used to working in military headquarters. He leaves every day at six in the morning and comes back at nine in the evening, a very fixed schedule.

But he forgot about the new addition to his family.

Once he was done with his military tasks for the day and was eating dinner, he suddenly thought of Ryan back at home.

The way Ryan ate was very cute, enough to give him an appetite.

He felt bewildered that he cared about a spy.

But Ryan was just too cute.

The more Chu Yuwen recalled Ryan eating, the more hungry he got, so he ate an extra portion of dinner.

After eating, his stomach was full, but his heart was not satisfied, as if something was missing.

For the first time, the discontented Lord Marshal lollygagged during working hours—he opened the Star Network and began to watch food livestream.

But the more he watched, the more unhappy he felt.

This was too vulgar, that was too fake, not to mention the Eating Champion host, who may or may not have vomited out his food in private… In any case, none of them were as lovely and natural as Ryan, who simply by looking at him brought joy.

After browsing different eating livestream, not only was there no sense of satisfaction, but the void grew, creating a sense of anxiety that could not be explained clearly.

Chu Yuwen endured it until it was finally nine o’clock.

As soon as the time came, he could not wait to pick up his things and leave. He stepped into the hover car and rushed home.

Then, when he opened the door, the beautiful youth threw himself into his arms in surprise. “Mister, you are back!”

Chu Yuwen hugged the tender young man in his arms, and for a moment, his body stiffened before he patted the young man’s small back.

“Hmm.”

His arms were occupied, and the emptiness in his heart seemed to be filled the moment he saw the boy.

He thought that he finally knew what was missing.

He was missing Ryan.

It turned out, he just wanted to see Ryan sooner.

The group has something to add:

Teo: At first, this translator was against using ‘mister’, but after Date a Live movie…This translator was all on board lol.
