Two weeks have passed since the beginning of the third semester, and we have also completed quite a number of subjugation requests.

After I became level 9, my skill-usable times increased, which in turn, left more leeway for us in battles.

And finally, Aoi’s level rose to 13 in yesterday’s battle—though she wasn’t able to level up in the previous raid.

Thanks to the accumulated experience from the raid and, more importantly because of the increase in the frequency of requests and the number of enemies due to the two of us taking requests together, our pace of leveling up was accelerated.

I’ve been thinking I can finally rise to the same E-rank as Aoi if I just level up once more and become level 10. However, it seems Aoi will reach D-rank sooner at this rate.

Although Aoi leveling up is good news, it is a little complicated since it makes me feel like I can’t stay by Aoi’s side forever.

“Aoi, congratulations on leveling up. Has anything changed?”

“Yes, my skill-usable times have increased. With this, we can deal with more enemies than before.”

“Seems like there won’t be a case where you run out of your skills, Aoi.”

Unlike me, Aoi can use her high firepower skills quite a lot of times, so I’ve never seen her running out of skills while fighting together with me.

In my case, victory or defeat is decided by my skill-usable times instead of my inferior firepower. So, I have to constantly pay attention to my remaining skill-usable times.

“ “Beep Beep.” ”

A request notification came to our survivor terminals.

“Come to think of it, it feels like the number of requests has suddenly increased since New Year.”

“I’ve never heard of monsters appearing more frequently only in winter. So, maybe the subjugation rate has just slowed down. For example, something like the number of people, who decline the requests because it is cold, has increased.”

“That might be the case.”

As for me, declining a regular request is out of the question due to my living circumstances. But for those who have such leeways, they might not need to go to that extent.

We got ready and were about to head to the scene on our racing bicycle. However, something that we were wary of did finally happen.

I’d been thinking the weather was suspicious since morning, and it was still okay while we were at school.

But, now that we were about to leave the house, the whole area was slightly white already.

“Snow……”

I went outside and found that the first snow of the season was falling, and it was even lightly piled up on the ground.

Usually, it would be no more than a beautiful sight, but it is a big problem for us who go on a monster subjugation by bicycle.

“Aoi, what should we do?”

“Since not much snow seems to have piled up yet, let’s head out first for the time being.”

“Let’s do so. If it becomes impossible to ride the bicycle on the way, we will get off and proceed by pushing it.”

“Yes.”

As for the result, we might have made the wrong choice.

“Are you okay, Aoi?”

“Yes, I am okay. I quite like snow.”

Aoi replied cheerfully, but this whole situation was proving to be a lot harsher than I expected.

On top of the cold, the footing was mushy and slippery, so we had no choice but to proceed slowly.

Going through the snow was much harder than I thought. Sure enough, snow is a natural enemy for us bicycle users.
