Chapter 550

550 Droplet of life

Iris raised her head and looked at Vincent with her enchanting purple eyes. “Did you visit because you were worried about me?” She asked in a cheerful tone.

“Yes.”

Iris became delighted. She rubbed her head on his chest and said, “I learned a new skill. Can you help me understand with it does? I do not want to hurt the plants if it is bad with the strange water.”

Vincent and Kazumi not only became shocked to see Iris act so affectionate all of a sudden, but she awakened a new skill. A skill that produced some kind of strange water.

Vincent focused his gaze on Iris and checked her status window. He and Kazumi were surprised by what they found.

[Droplet of Life description.]

[The guide of life can liquify their mana to provide anything grown from the earth with nutrients of life.]

[The more mana used into the [Droplet of Life], the more nutrients the guide of life will offer and the longer the nutrients it will last in the earth.]

[Droplet of Life] has the nutrients of life, thus accelerating the maturation and flowering stages.]

[No matter how much mana the [Droplet of Life] has, the nutrients absorbed are limited based on what is absorbing the nutrients.]

[The earth will absorb a different amount of [Droplet of Life] mana based on its condition to revitalize.]

.

Vincent and Kazumi carefully read the description. Based on the details, Iris could now probably produce the best liquid fertilizer in the world.

[My gosh! With Iris around, we will never have food problems.]

-Yeah. Only Lupa and Plow would complain.-

[Haha. I can’t wait to see them convert into vegetarians.]

-...-

Vincent gave Iris a head pat. “It is called the drop of life. Instead of touching plants and sharing your mana with them, your new skill will take care of that automatically.”

“I saw myself dropping water on plants and the ground. But I didn’t know if it was good or bad for the plants.” Iris looked at a plant. “Does it mean the plants can grow even if I am not around?”

“Yes. In my world, people created what is called liquid fertilizer. I bought a bottle once, and it did wonders.”

Iris became interested, and her eyes sparkled with curiosity. “If I put my water in a container, does it mean little Olive and Lian can tend the plants as if I am around?”

“You are a bright girl.” Said Vincent while kissing her forehead. “That will work as you are imagining. The plants will absorb nutrients as they please, yet that is one mystery we need to test.”

“Mystery?”

“We will need to know how long it can last in a container. I suggest starting the test from today.”

Iris broke the hug. She was about to leave in a rush when Vincent grabbed her hand.

“Remember not to do what Ester does. Stop and leave your plans for the next day when your mana gets low.”

“Thank you for worrying about me. ” Iris said with a radiant smile and her cute dimples showing.

Vincent let go of Iris’s hand and watched her leave for the study room where Iris had a variety of containers, including the empty vails of the potions they had used thus far.

[Iris is excited to let Olive and Lian tend to the plants back home.]

“Yeah. ” Vincent responded. He moved his gaze to Zero and continued, “I hope my trusty Zero can keep an eye on Iris.”

Y... [Yes] Ma... [Master]

Vincent and Kazumi understood that the more Zero grew, the more its vocal ability grew. Saying a complete word might not be impossible for Zero in the future to come.

A few hours later, Vincent and Nick arrived at the morning lesson.

Biro took Vincent for individual training while Nick joined his classmates with Ton as the teacher and Ollie as the assistant teacher.

“I hope my father didn’t act rudely to your wives. His gaze and his jokes have caused a lot of trouble.”

“Duke Lucas isn’t as bad as you are saying. Other than joking while being assertive all the time.”

Biro chuckled. “Yeah. My father is one of a kind. He jokes while prodding for reactions.” Biro looked at the sky and continued, “Sometimes I wonder if Duchess Karta learned from my father the way to tease people and understand their personality from their expressions.”

“...” Vincent didn’t know how to reply to that. He kept following Biro until arriving at their usual training spot.

Later that day, Vincent started to learn to gather the surrounding mana all around his body. The application was different. Instead of weighing his body down, the mana needed to be applied like a layer protecting the body constantly.

By the end of the lesson, Vincent comprehended enough to self-train with the help of Kazumi.

“Not bad. Not bad.” *Smack* Biro congratulated Vincent with a smack to his back. “Keep the layer of mana for one minute without wavering once, and I will teach you how to apply the element you are attuned to. Later I will teach you how to add more layers and use your mana to add even more.”

“Ohh, and before you leave.” *Smack* “Congratulations on becoming a Baron.”

Vincent didn’t think he was going to become a Baron this fast. He took out his student card and saw the mail notification flashing. It became more obvious the mail was from the royal family.

“Do you know everything about what happened yesterday?” Asked Vincent.

Vincent was curious to know if Biro knew about his role in protecting the princess of Lusterfall. Additionally, his team was guaranteed to participate in the tournament.

“Not that much. I know you met her highness, and she had a good impression of you. I know her highness is going to sponsor you, and her highness has awarded your branch family the Baron title. I also know the best craftsmen will create some kind of movable chair. ”

“Did you perhaps hear anything about my team?”

“Yes. ” Biro revealed a grin and smacked Vincent’s back again. “Darwin should have received a letter from my father by now. I hope he can agree to make the team ten as the first-year representatives. That way, people will know about the level of training we, the Hawkins family, provide.”

[It looks like Biro doesn’t know about our deal with Anna.]

-If Lucas didn’t tell Biro about the arrangement, I think we should go with the flow of the plan.-

[Either way, if Anna is with us, we will protect her.]

‘I hope we haven’t bitten more than we can chew.’ Vincent pondered about the future while heading for an exhausted Nick.

“Vincent.” *Huff* “It looks like your training wasn’t as intense as ours.”

“It was also intense. I had to control the mana around us with Energy Flow. My body is fine, but my mind wants to rest.”

Nick agreed with a nod. He looked at the classmates leaving and said, “Teacher Biro must have given you the training reward everyone is talking about. It looks to be an intense lesson based on your gaze.”

“Huh? What is wrong with my gaze?” Asked Vincent curiously.

[I don’t see anything out of the ordinary. You look tired. That is all I can see. Is there something I can’t see? I am curious to know what Nick is seeing.]

“You look like someone whose tutors gave a difficult surprise test...” Nick stopped after remembering Vincent wasn’t born a noble. “Sorry... my tongue slipped.”

Vincent rubbed his chin and responded, “Thinking about it, you might be right.”

“Huh? You know how it feels?”

“Yes. A tutor is a person that teaches others.”

“Vincent... you are right. I forgot the meaning of a tutor.” Nick said with an embarrassed expression.

Vincent arched a sly smile and teased, “Isn’t Lupa your tutor? Hahaha.”

“...” Nick frowned and left Vincent laughing alone.

.....

“Hey, wait! Don’t leave me laughing here alone.” Vincent went after Nick while laughing.

*Mail Room – Evening*

After finishing Maria’s lesson, Vincent and Lilith arrived at the mail room.

They received one letter. The letter was folded in three, and a royal seal kept both ends closed.

A few students caught a glimpse of the seal. Some asked the attendants, while others made an excuse to pass near Vincent and Lilith. Those who passed and saw the large word Baron beside the names Vincent and Lilith Lionheart went to spread the word.

By the end of the day, most of the academy students would get to know how Vincent and Lilith had received the Baron and Baroness title without finishing the academy. This was a first, and the rumors would run wild from the next day onwards.

“It looks like what you told us yesterday is happening faster than I expected.” Lilith placed a paper in front of her and a quill in her hand. “I must tell my parents before they learn from other people.”

“Yeah. Tell them not to worry and that I have everything under control.”

“I will also mention how the princess will be sponsoring us...” Lilith said before Vincent covered her mouth.

Vincent glanced at a student passing near them with his ears obviously perked up to overhear their discussion. He knew it was best to come up with a quick lie.

“What are you saying, my love? You know that you are my princess. Your beauty is enchanting in comparison to the others. They are like my mistresses while you are my princess.”
