Chapter 296 Talkative Plant

After the adventurous day where all of them had been taught several lessons passed their trip through the forbidden forest became much easier.

Wearing the devouring tree seedling around his neck like a necklace, Kyle could nourish it without the use of his hands. Precisely controlling the winds around him, it was quite easy for him to use the paralyzing spores to his advantage.

After a few days had passed, the devouring tree seedling had devoured more than ten different types of plants. The forbidden forest was like a treasure trove for the devouring tree seedling and it developed rapidly.

However, this didn't change its size in the slightest, which was quite good considering that the tree seedling couldn't be carried around inside a storage device.

The devouring tree seedling was still small but its use had increased by a few times. It was currently used to allow the group of Five Cultivators, one Spirit Soul, and one Sprite to kill a total of 20 Acerta stage beasts without too much effort.

The 20 Acerta stage Devilhir Wolves were partially paralyzed by the devouring tree seedling's spores before they began to feel even more weakening effects.

Everyone could clearly understand how dangerous the devouring tree seedling was but nobody complained because it was on their side. Kyle nourished it with his nurture ability whenever the devouring tree seedling helped them killing multiple opponents.

This was a worthwhile investment and something necessary to gain the devouring tree seedling's whole trust. As long as the devouring tree seedling was loyal to him, everything would be great.

Kyle was not even worried about their pursuer anymore. She could just attack them but that was not what she did. He slowly forgot about her and focused on his task ashead. After all, it was not as if he could do anything against her, even if he wanted to.

Kyle used the dragonscale map precisely, he updated a few configurations every time something didn't seem to fit perfectly. Through this, it was possible for their group to pass through the ginormous forest without too many difficulties.

Arashi, Aurora, Selene, and Jaden received intense nourishments in the few days that passed since they entered the forest, and they enjoyed life like this.

Everyone's cultivation progressed rapidly and it looked like the forbidden forest was not as dangerous as everyone presumed it to be. However, this was only the case because Kyle was in possession of the one and only map that could be used to avoid the territories of all the powerful beasts.

There were more than enough beasts that reached the Mid, Late or even Peak of the Acerta stage.

In fact, there were even beasts that reached the Malyr stage, the stage that followed after breaking through the last rank of the Acerta stage.

Kyle wanted to avoid all the powerful beasts if possible. Arashi was not yet at the Acerta stage and it would take a while for him to advance. As a Spirit Soul, an existence that followed the cultivation path of the Soul, he required more than three times the amount of energy to advance his cultivation base.

The exact same was the case for Kyle, who was slowly advancing thanks to Arashi's great potential. The three-tailed wind fox allowed him to cultivate much faster than before. It was only obvious that this was teh case after evolving but Kyle was still astonished.

But even if Arashi was exceptionally powerful, there was still a difference between a three-tailed fox at the Peak of the Krysal stage and beasts at the Malyr stage. Kyle couldn't simply ignore that by playing the ignorant fool, after all, he was responsible for the safety of his people.

That was what he told himself over and over again as they went through the forbidden forest. Their way lead them around many unique paths and they faced countless dangerous situations but oddly enough they always survived.

The devouring three seedlings became more and more useful, until one day he heard a unique request from the sentient seedling.

[We approach the center…plan me there…the place the cross is located!] The voice reverberated in his head.

The request was weird, especially because the devouring tree seedling shouldn't have an idea where they were going. It couldn't see anything, after all.

The dragonscale map was not something it should understand either.

"You know where we are going?" Kyle asked dumbfounded and in response everyone else halted in their tracks. The others stared at Kyle in confusion.

However, they saw that Kyle was also confused and that he was looking at the devouring tree seedling which nearly broke his neck.

"Do they have another meeting? Just what are they talking about all the time?" Selene wondered, not sure what exactly was going on with Kyle and the devouring tree seedling.

[Of course, I know where we will end up. At the destroyed arc of the Fallen Olymp. Didn't you know where we're going?] The voice of the devouring tree seedling sounded extremely confident, which caused Kyle to feel a bit complicated.

"Just how long were you already sentient? Do you recall memories while you were just that huge old tree?" Kyle suddenly asked, his voice several pitches higher than he intended to speak.

'We are really going to the Fallen Olymp?!? What the hell is going on…' Kyle was not sure if he should believe the devouring tree seedling but it sounded very confident and quite nonchalant about revealing the information.

This stupefied Kyle but it allowed him to get to know more about the devouring tree seedling as well.

'It knows more than it revealed until now!' He thought certain that his assumption was correct.

[I know everything about my first life because I am one of the oldest trees in the entire Shalivra valley. Of course, I know about the Fallen Olymp. Considering that you could activate the dragonscale map, you should also be one of the few, who can activate the Arc one again. You have the key and the ability to use it after all.

Plant me above the Cave of the Lost Arc! That is my demand, in exchange for helping you to protect it when I'm big enough!]

Kyle just nodded his head, without actually understanding what the devouring tree seedling was saying.

However, his heart was filled with excitement.

Kyle couldn't help  but feel that the Cave of the Lost Arc was exactly the place they were being lead to. He had the 'key' after all.

"So the dragonscale is the key that is necessary to activate the Lost Arc so that we can enter the Fallen Olymp….sounds like lots of trouble…" Kyle was excited but he was a bit lost as well.

The situation changed entirely all of a sudden and Jaden approached him with interest.

"What did you just say, Kyle? Are we really going to find the Fallen Olymp?!" He asked, his voice filled with both excitement and fright.

"Calm down, Jaden. I have no idea what is going on either. The devouring tree seedling is currently wreaking havoc with my mind by telling me some stuff, which it could have told me months ago already!!!" Kyle was a bit annoyed that the devouring tree seedling didn't speak about some sort of Cave or whatever Lost Arc and the Fallen Olympus before.

This could prevent lots of trouble and it was not like Kyle was the mortal enemy of the devouring tree seedling. Both gained from each other, which meant that they were in a win-win situation.

[Oii!!! I didn't recall my memories before!! You cannot blame me like that!!!]

"I can and I do blame you, so shut it, otherwise, I won't accept your proposal!"
