Chapter 250 Pagoda

Name:Spirit Soul Author:HideousGrain
Going upstairs, Kyle found a gate that was locked by some sort of puzzle. Solving it was likely to open the gate, allowing him to go up one floor.

This was quite interesting, but Kyle didn't feel like doing some puzzles.

He had never been exceptional at doing them, but when he looked at the one in front of him, his eyes widened.

'I know this one!' In the old universe, many well-known quizzes and puzzles existed in the universe.

Even non-cultivators could solve them simply because everyone knew them.

As such, seeing one of them right in front of him, Kyle didn't even need to spend half an hour solving it.

As Scholar he studied a lot about ancient texts and numerous other things which he had hoped to be quite useful.

Unfortunately, there had never been anything that had actually helped him in his past life.

Thus, it was quite surprising that he was able to use the memories of something that was commonly known in the past.

When the gate opened, he, Yasmine, and Selene were able to pass through, before it closed down behind them once again.

Afterward, they took a look at the books and low-leveled manuals that were spread through the numerous shelves.

"There is nothing interesting. Let's hasten up and reach the highest floor. I guess we won't find anything invaluable on the floors below the highest!"

For others, some books and techniques around them might be interesting.

However, Kyle was quite picky about choosing new martial art techniques which was also the reason why he had yet to start training in a new one.

For now, he had only mastered the Swift steps movement technique, without practicing any other technique anymore.

There was still the deadly assault technique, but that was not something Kyle focused on anymore.

It had been over a year that he practiced it, either way.

In the end, martial art techniques were not necessary to become powerful.

They were just a guide on how to become stronger, and how to utilize one's cultivation energy in a way to release more strength at once.

That was why movement techniques focused mostly on the circulation of energy in the entire lower body, and not only on the feet.

There were too many impressive techniques that even Kyle would have it easy to pick a bunch of them.

However, once one started to practice a specific martial art technique, one couldn't slack off and had to train hard in the martial art technique.

Otherwise, one would never be able to master it.

This required lots of time, resources, and an unbending focus, which was quite problematic if one trained in techniques one didn't feel fully compatible with.

Kyle wanted to find a technique with which one was able to utilize his high physical strength, his cultivated mind, and his wind affinity.

To find a great synergy with all of these aspects was quite difficult, which turned into another reason for him not to be training a specific martial art technique.

After all, he had yet to find the correct one!

While walking through the floor Kyle's focus was on the next gate and the puzzle that prevented them from reaching the next floor.

Each floor had a gate until they would reach the top.

And from the way his sight of hue perceived everything, there were at least ten more floors for them to ascend.

With a simple glance was thrown at the next gate, Kyle and the other two could tell that the following puzzles would become more complicated.

As such, it wouldn't even be surprised if they were to require an entire week to reach the highest floor.

Unfortunately, this was a fact that depended on their ability to actually pass the puzzles.

On a good note, Kyle knew the second puzzle from his past life once again, which proved the theory he had in mind for quite some time, even before the Queen opened the ancestor's treasury.

'The Ancestor they're speaking about is another Old Soul!'

Kyle wondered if the Old Soul was dead, or if he or she created the treasury for the sake of others, in order to allow them to become stronger.

Maybe there was also a completely different meaning behind everything.

However, the fact that an Old Soul recalled the memories of their life in the old universe indicated that he or she passed the reincarnation trials with excellent grades!

What this meant was simple; the Old Soul, who created this Ancestor's treasury should have been able to spend their time creating a sly plan for all kinds of scenarios that may unfold.

And this meant that the Ancestor's treasury was far from being simple!

As such, Kyle had to be more careful because it was not known whether the Old Soul was someone good or bad, if the creation of the Ancestor's treasury itself had a good indication, or if it was made with ill intentions!

At first glance, it was obvious that the Ancestor's treasury was something great, but the Brawl in the Sadorla forest looked great in the beginning, as well.

Yet, in the end, too many beings died, thinking that they would be able to procure numerous treasures, just to nurture the mutated Licara flower!!

His time in the Sadorla forest taught Kyle that he had to be more careful about Old Souls, their creations, and what their true intentions were because everything might be far more complicated than one could grasp at first.

The hidden intentions of Old Souls were quite difficult to figure out because most of them had plans that spanned over several hundred, if not thousands of years before they could blossom.

Following that the number of plans they utilized at the same time should be quite a lot.

After all, they had lived for several tens of thousand years longer than Kyle, which was why they had enough time to think about what would be the best for them.

Even Kyle, who didn't reincarnate for a long time yet had numerous plans up to his sleeves, and he would love to start all of them simultaneously.

Attaining them would be his main goal for the future.

However, for now, the most important was to complete all puzzles and quizzes of the gazes that lay ahead of him.

Spending most of his time solving the next puzzle, Kyle kept doing the same over and over again.

Each puzzle was one of the old universes, and the only difficulty was that they became more complex with time passing.

Some of them even included the necessary use of different types of cultivation energies.

Yet, with the use of Soul force, these restrictions were lifted as Soul force was the compound cultivation energy of the three major energies.

This made things much easier for him because Kyle could simply do everything by himself, while Selene and Yasmine were able to read the books they were interested in.

Following him, whenever he passed through a gate, the books they carried in their hands were slowly amassing.

Even if they couldn't take the books back to the Lahin kingdom, while being in the Ancestor's treasury, it was no problem for them to take the books with them as long as they were inside the Ancestor's treasury.

With that in mind, even Kyle began to hoard quite a few books that revolved around topics such as unique ways to temper weapons in the forging process, information about an in-depth control of the wind affinity, and much more!

Two weeks passed in the blink of an eye, and only now did they finally reach the highest floor of the pagoda.

Kyle had been quite distracted because most books he carried with him were simply way too interesting.

He never expected them to be so intriguing, which was why it took him so long to keep focused on the puzzles and quizzes he knew about.

Every single one belonged to the rather well-known quizzes and puzzles, even if some of them were quite old, even for someone who lived in the old universe.

There was no 'new' quiz in the entire pagoda. In fact, the books they found inside the pagoda were also quite old, if one were to take a proper look at them.

This clearly showed that the creator of the Ancestor's treasury was far older than first presumed.

The age of the Old Soul was quite intriguing, but there was something Kyle was far more interesting.

And that was something his sight of hues had sensed far earlier already.

Yet, seeing that it was really what he was looking for, a smile covered his lips, while Selene looked at the object that was lying on a small podium with a confused expression.

"Oh, isn't that?!"
