Chapter 166 Restrictions

In the end, entering Lynar had not been as difficult as they had expected.

Kyle was only tested and when the test came negative, he received an emblem that was supposed to prevent other races from misunderstanding him as an Aldras.

This worked pretty well because the moment he entered the city, he was eyed with killing intent.

Luckily, the faintly glowing emblem made them retract it.

One could also sense the emblem that radiated faint energy waves, which was quite interesting because Kyle could perceive many tiny runes inside it.

Through this, he was also able to figure out that the Inscribers in Lynar should be quite advanced, which was great to know.

Other than the Inscribers, Kyle was interested in almost everything about the city because it was, in fact, the first city he entered since reincarnating!

It was exciting, and the bright smile on his face, followed by the glint of joy in the emerald eyes clearly showed how he was feeling.

Beatrice was feeling exactly the same because it was the first time she had entered a big place like a city that was full of living beings.

All her life she had been locked in a castle and then thrown in a forest with Kyle.

The settlement inside the green Miasma had been different because it might have looked ginormous, but there were only a few people they had interacted with.

Furthermore, the Liad race hadn't appeared to be much different to the Undeads she knew, which had been weird.

Meanwhile, Yasmine was full of vigor, and excitement which had overwhelmed Beatrice in the first few moments of meeting her.

Following that, she had been pulled towards the city gate, and now that they were inside, she got a first-hand look of what a bustling city looked like.

The main street was filled with all kinds of demi-human races and everything looked spotlessly clean.

He saw tall buildings everywhere made of materials that had bright colors.

Some buildings were made of wood, but Beatrice had never seen white wood like the one she was seeing near the entrance. As she observed it closely, it seemed to radiate strong currents of mana too.

This was interesting, and it didn't take long before both Kyle and Beatrice were drawn into their own world of thoughts about the entire city.

Yasmine, who had entered the city with them, couldn't help but be amused at the sight of the two adventurers' reaction because they were genuinely astonished about everything they saw.

In her opinion, the city was at most average in terms of aesthetics, even if it was a different matter altogether when it came to defending the city against beast tides that originated from the wilderness.

As such, Yasmine quickly comprehended that both were unfamiliar with large places that accommodate many races.

But that was exactly what caused her to be confused.

'I could swear that my eyes told me that Beatrice is extremely old…while Kyle is even older, even though his blood is like that of a youngling…'

Her interest in the two adventurers increased further, which she didn't think was possible.

Nonetheless, she was proved wrong and it was definitely justified.

After all, both Beatrice and Kyle belonged to an unknown race while their age and level of knowledge didn't seem to add up together.

To her, it looked like they were tied together by something, but on a voluntary basis!

Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense for Kyle to have reacted so nonchalantly with a faint smile and calming voice when Beatrice had stared at Kyle as if she wanted to suck his blood the moment the needle punctured his skin.

He had even advised her to wait a little bit before she was allowed to get some of his blood!

Thus, Yasmine quietly followed the two of them as they walked through the main street of the city that led towards the centre.

While looking at everything curiously, Kyle's eyes fell on the tamed mounts that rode past them.

His eyes then observed the riders, that is, the demihumans in order to figure out everyone's rough strength.

That was quite interesting because the hues enveloping all living beings were a much better indicator of one's strength. It included potential growth, hidden talents, and much more.

With that in mind, he tried to calmly assess the strength of the city's defenses.

It was an involuntary habit of his, something he would automatically do to understand how strong the forces in the place he was in were actually.

It was important, but at the same time, it required the majority of his focus.

It was not at all easy to figure out which hue was related to which path that can be developed.

Every single living being's hues and development paths were different and no two paths were the same!

Owing to his distracted state, Kyle was thus oblivious to the fact that Yasmine was able to see his faintly glowing emerald eyes.

Seeing the emerald eyes, she approached him instinctively.

While nearing him, Yasmine didn't hide her curiosity, and it was at this moment that Beatrice noticed what was going on.

Without thinking much about what to do, she quickly placed herself between Kyle and Yasmine, preventing her from continuing to stare into the emerald eyes.

Yet, instead of feeling annoyed by this sudden interference, Yasmine couldn't help but chuckle, which caused the other demi-humans that had been looking at Kyle to avert their attention towards her.

Bewitched by the stunning smile, they even forgot what they were doing and bumped into each other, creating chaos in the bustling street.

Meanwhile, Beatrice had had enough of Yasmine.

As such, she began to distract Kyle in effort to gain his attention by asking him about the plans he had in mind.

"Kyle, should we search for a shop that leases flying mounts, or did you plan to do something else first?"

Her question followed by the commotion was enough to completely distract him from focussing on the hues of the others around him.

Because of that, he turned towards Beatrice, who was walking closer to him than before.

This caused him to look at her in confusion for a moment before he thought about her question.

"It would be great if we can directly rent flying mounts. But, I think it would be expensive to have a one-way flight to the destination that is the closest to the Lahin kingdom. Maybe there are other requirements too which we know nothing of. And even if there aren't, we don't know the current situation in the Lahin kingdom. They don't really like other races, to begin with, either…"

Arriving at a conclusion, Kyle believed that they were a bit too weak.

Despite that, it had been almost a year since he and Selene had been separated.

As such, he didn't want to waste anymore time cultivating because that was something he could do once they had reunited.

Nevertheless, it would be foolish to think that the Lahin kingdom would greet him heartily.

The Lahin kingdom's soldiers and chief had only been interested to take Selene with them and had not been too keen to let Kyle join them.

Thus to prevent any issues, it would be the best if he would find the guild.

The only reason he required the guild would be to take a look if there was any mission that was approved by the Lahin kingdom and thereby allow him to enter it.

Unfortunately, this was just a thought he had, and it was unlikely for the independent kingdom of the Lohar race to request the guild for help in their own lands.

With that in mind, trying to cover up his search for the Glory Knights academy would be the second-best route. But even that was extremely dangerous, even more so while being at the Vitae stage.

In the end, his rank was too low, and advancing would take way too long as well.

If he were to do that, this meant that he wouldn't meet Selene for at least one more year.

After connecting the dots, the situation became quite complicated, and Beatrice knew about all of this owing to them having discussed the best plan for the next few months.

However, that plan would be enacted under the condition that they wouldn't find a city, or that it didn't have any flying mounts one might be able to rent.

As such, their current plan had changed, and everything, in turn, was likely to change now.

All of this was secondary to Beatrice right now.

She was more interested in ensuring that Kyle's attention stayed on her. But, she failed miserably when Yasmine suddenly intervened.

"I'm sorry for disturbing the preparations for the next steps in your plan, but my family has a few stores in Lynar.

They might be able to help you lease flying beasts that were tamed and raised since their birth."

Initially, Beatrice was about to throw a tantrum, but her anger dispersed into thin air the moment she heard Yasmine. Her words caused her, and also Kyle, to look at her curiously.

"Well, to be honest with you two, it won't be possible for outsiders to rent any mounts. There are a few regulations to be allowed to fly in Anadra.

You need to be a citizen of Anadra, or one of the affiliated races in the mount leasing stores to rent a beast.

It's also enough if the store owner trusts you to the extent that he believes you won't harm the mount you lease, and that it will be returned to one of the branches of the stores safely."

That was something Kyle didn't know before, but it made sense, to some extent.

If he were to be at the store owner's place, even he wouldn't be able to lend a beast that had been raised, tamed, and trained with his utmost efforts to a complete stranger.

Understanding this was not difficult, but that was not the case for the requirements to be allowed to fly in Anadra.

They sounded weird to him and Kyle stared dumbfoundedly at Yasmine as he enquired further,

"And…what are the requirements to be allowed to fly in Anadra?"

Even if it was weird to demand certain requirements to be met to do a task such as flying, he was fine with everything. The only issue he had with was the condition requiring him to be a citizen of Anadra.

That would be a foul play of the kingdom's government.

However, seeing that Yasmine was relaxed, Kyle felt that the requirements wouldn't be anything special.

"There are multiple requirements, but the most important are that you either have to be a citizen of the kingdom, or are a C rank adventurer of the guild. Other than that, there are some minor requirements like flying on a certain altitude if you're flying for a longer duration and so on.

But that's not something you should be worried about if you rent a flying mount."

When he heard what the requirements were, his mind went blank for a minute.

"I need to maintain a certain altitude when I fly?? And I have to be a C rank adventurer…I don't even have an idea what rank I'm currently at…"

Dumbfounded about the sudden obstacle course thrown at him, Kyle couldn't keep his calm as he revealed how flustered he was because of the weird criteria.

After all, the requirements were extremely stupid.

However, that was not everything as Yasmine, who had heard his spontaneous outburst, added further,

"It looks like you two want to enter the Lahin kingdom, and you do seem to know that this shouldn't be easy. However, right now, its even more difficult to enter the Lahin kingdom than usual because they're in some sort of lockdown because of specific internal issues."

Feeling the impact of the second hit which Yasmine had dealt him with simple words, Kyle couldn't help but take a deep breath as he tried to clear his mind.

It took him quite a while but once he was done, he looked at Yasmine with determination in his eyes.

"If I need to be a C rank adventurer, there has to be a guildhall in Lynar, right? Where is it?"
