A Lover’s Rendezvous (1)

… Qin Yuan stood in the corner outside of the corridor and accepted the call in a low voice.

Secretary Gao’s voice was respectful from the other side. “Young Master, I personally went to the neighborhood committee of that family’s street and everything has been settled.”

Qin Yuan let out an “mm.” “Have you found the school?”

Secretary Gao smiled while saying, “Yes, ah. I assigned people to find a special education school. The tuition fee for one year is one hundred thousand yuan. The education quality isn’t bad and because of that it isn’t exactly the very best private special education institution. This way, the recipient won’t feel uneasy.”

Qin Yuan’s voice was gentle. “You’ve been very considerate.”

“I did what I’m supposed to do.” Secretary Gao hurriedly became polite. “I told the neighborhood committee that our charity fund is looking for poor children with disabilities who really need help. They immediately thought of this child and asked if it was possible if they lived outside their local area. I said, of course, it’s possible. Thus, it was quickly fixed.”

He carefully continued explaining, “I made sure it was the right child by making a visit. They led me to that blind massage parlor that you mentioned. The kid was playing alone in the yard outside, looking pitiful.”

Qin Yuan softly let out a sigh. “Yes, ah. It won’t do if we ignore the plight of this child.”

Secretary Gao repeated, “That’s right. That’s right. When I told them the purpose of my visit, that kid’s sister cried on the spot like a tearful figurine and almost prostrated before us. Looking at her makes one feel sad.”

Qin Yuan calmly listened. “It’s quite hard for a blind girl to support her little brother.”

Secretary Gao carefully probed. “Oh right. Your friend’s mother’s character is really remarkable. She takes care of a massage parlor by herself, hires two blind people, gets a low commission, and even gives them full social insurance. It must not be easy for her.”

Qin Yuan slightly frowned. “Her burden is very heavy, isn’t it? Uncle Gao, do you have any method…”

Secretary Gao’s heart rejoiced. Aiya. He actually made the right suggestion!

“Young Master, I won’t keep it from you. I’m pondering over this matter right now. If you agree to it, I’ll work on it and help that family’s shop. The charity foundation is doing good deeds to those it may concern!”

The bell for the end of the night self-study rang and students from every class came out. Fu Songhua held Qin Yuan’s bag and handed it to Qin Yuan at the doorway. “Class monitor, I’ve helped you pack your things.”

Qin Yuan thanked him and casually turned off his phone, walking outside with several Class 1’s boys.

He walked straight to the dormitory building and raised his head to look at 106’s window. As it turned out, it was dark.

His gaze instantly became a little sad.

Pushing open the door, the dorm was quiet and lonely, the same as when that person had just moved out.

He silently placed his school bag and just wanted to enter the bathroom to take a shower, but he grabbed his phone and looked at it by some miracle.

His eyes suddenly widened.

He quickly dialed that phone number and listened to the beep of the phone being switched off before suddenly turning around and rushing upstairs.

Upstairs, Bai Jing and the others were playing in their dorm room when suddenly the door was pushed open.

Qin Yuan gasped softly and tilted his head towards Ruan Qingmu’s original bed. Fang Li heard the door’s sound and blankly sat on the bed. “Class monitor Qin?”

Qin Yuan looked at him. “Is Ruan Qingmu here?”

Bai Jing enthusiastically ran over. “Oh, he’s not here. He lives in Li Zhiyong and the others’ dorm now!”

Qin Yuan didn’t say anything and turned around, running to the next door.

He pushed open that dorm door and met Li Zhiyong’s vigilant gaze. He coldly turned his head and looked at another boy. “Ruan Qingmu didn’t come back?”

That boy hurriedly answered. “Ah. His bed is here, but he basically never sleeps in it.”

He would come here to sleep symbolically every night and secretly run away after the teacher finished inspecting the dorm. He should be at Huang Ya and the other’s dorm, right?

They couldn’t do anything. After all the fights with Li Zhiyong, it would be hell if he could still sleep peacefully in the same room as him!

Qin Yuan stood stunned in the doorway and suddenly turned around again, rushing downstairs.

He returned to 106 and it was still empty!

It was already so late. Where did he go?

He restlessly sat in the dorm for a while before grabbing his phone to make a call. “Fu Songhua, please help me take a look. Has Ruan Qingmu returned to Bai Jing or Li Zhiyong’s dorm?”

Fu Songhua’s replies came soon. “No, ah. People from both dorms said he hadn’t returned.”

Qin Yuan blankly listened to him and finally stood up, dashing out of the dorm toward the school building.

The night breeze was slightly chilly. Except for the lights in the lecture theater, the power had long been cut off on the other floors of the building.

In one breath, he rushed to the dark staircase and madly dashed to Class 9.

… A dark figure sat in the darkness by the window in the last row. The moonlight shone on his silhouette. There was a tiny round light on his hand.

Qin Yuan took a deep breath and slowly approached that round light.

The person in the darkness raised his head and glanced at him before lowering his head again.

Qin Yuan sat at the seat in front of him and looked at the math papers illuminated by his phone’s flashlight.

The geometry on it was drawn with messy lines.
