Bite You! (3)

The time flew by fast. Some people went midway to the bathroom while others occasionally went out to take a breath and rest. The teacher on duty for night self-study also came in twice to check on them.

Ruan Qingmu had been reading all night long and had just raised his head to rest his eyes when Bai Jing, who was in front of him, turned his head and winked at him.

Ruan Qingmu looked at him and stood up.

The two people walked to the corridor and found an empty place to have a private chat. Bai Jing looked around and whispered, “Ruan-ge, I’ve asked around. Lin Hua, that bitch, frequently goes to the Internet café, Original Wilderness, and he usually goes there alone.”

Ruan Qingmu indifferently asked, “When does he usually go there?”

Bai Jing hesitated for a while. “Generally speaking, if he’s not in the classroom at night, he will definitely climb the wall and go to that Internet café.”

Ruan Qingmu nodded his head. “Tell me where that opening is?”

Bai Jing took a pen and drew a simple map for him on his palm. “Here, the eastern wall behind the canteen. There is a small opening. You’ll know it when you see it.”

Ruan Qingmu nodded. “Okay.”

He turned around to go back. Bai Jing felt anxious and hurriedly chased after him, whispering, “Ruan-ge, Ruan-ge, can you please not make trouble again? A thing should not be attempted more than three times*. You will get into a lot of trouble!”

*T/N: Idiom: don’t repeat the same mistake again and again.

Ruan Qingmu laughed. “Who told him to sneak out of school like that?”

Bai Jing said with a bitter look on his face, “Let’s show the video to a teacher and let the school punish him.”

Ruan Qingmu sneered. “Dream on. They’ll only let him off lightly.”

After seeing Bai Jing’s anxious appearance, his heart slightly became warm. “What are you afraid of? I won’t take a knife to cut him.”

Bai Jing carefully shot a glance at him. Even if Ruan-ge didn’t cut people, what if he slipped and maimed people with his ruthlessness?!

Ruan Qingmu casually waved his hand. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll think of a plan before doing anything.”

… On the other side of the corridor, Fu Songhua sat inside Class 1’s classroom and sullenly worked on his homework, obviously more depressed than usual.

Qin Yuan lightly stretched at the side after finishing that day’s homework. He sat on his seat and looked down to examine his fingers.

The teeth mark where Ruan Qingmu had bitten him had faded, nearly becoming invisible.

He furrowed his brows and tapped Fu Songhua on the shoulder. “Let me borrow a red pen.”

Fu Songhua let out an “mm” and found a red pen from his stationery case before depressedly lowering his head and going back to work on his questions.

Qin Yuan looked serious as he took the red pen and scribbled it on his finger, smearing a bit on the bite, before carefully drawing a small circle and adding more weight to the original teeth marks that were too faint to see.

Ruan Qingmu didn’t return to the classroom and unhurriedly went down the stairs. He followed along the school’s back wall, slowly moving forward while looking around at the same time.

As expected, he discovered a small opening soon, too small for a single person to climb through. But that shouldn’t be a problem for Ruan Qingmu, who was physically fit and had strong upper body strength.

The school building was brightly lit on the far side of the campus while the other side was dark. Ruan Qingmu easily leaped up two or three times and easily climbed up the wall.

The phone in his pocket suddenly vibrated.

He single-handedly took out his phone. It was a new message from someone with a pink peach blossom profile picture.

When he opened it, he was stunned by the message.

It was a picture of a finger. Even though it was slightly vague, a row of teeth marks was clearly visible and surrounded by redness as if it had been bitten.

It was accompanied by a picture of a fierce puppy grimacing in pain.

Ruan Qingmu sat on top of the wall and the breeze blew his hair, feeling ridiculous and slightly guilty.

Was the bite really that bad?!

… But, pah! Who was a little milk dog*?

*T/N: Little milk dog: an Internet term, refers to the general term for young, clingy, cute, and sunny boys.

He found a picture online, replying with a fierce Tibetan mastiff. Then, he lightly and noiselessly jumped down the wall.

Across the street, there was a night market selling various snacks and Internet cafes specializing in student business. He put his hands in his pockets and slowly looked inside a few of them.

Before he could get close, his phone vibrated again. When he tapped on the screen, that person had sent another little crab making threatening gestures, waving its pincers at someone.

Ruan Qingmu raised his eyes to look at the row of Internet cafes. Sure enough, he saw a store with an old signboard: “Original Wilderness.” The inside was completely packed with young people.

He approached that store’s door without batting an eye while finding a picture of a shark baring its sharp teeth online, replying with it in the dialogue box.

The Internet cafe was smokey and the scent of instant noodles filled it with a greasy smell. He didn’t go inside, standing in the shadows outside the window to look inside. Then, he turned around and started to go head back again.

Passersby constantly passed close to the fence on the way back, making his trip back very difficult.

He climbed the wall again and his phone vibrated after landing on the school grounds.

When he clicked on the message, he was met with a small adorable snake with a turquoise body this time, softly coiling into a ball and spitting out its letters. It didn’t look like it was going to bite, but made it seem like it was simply hissing.

Ruan Qingmu stared at the little snake, suddenly feeling a little baffled.

How did this person know what the snake looked like?

At that time in the cave, a poison dart flew over and nailed the poisonous snake that had bitten Qin Yuan to the mountain rocks. When he approached, he saw that it was a small, slender, but poisonous, nameless snake.

After getting lost in his thoughts, he didn’t reply but turned on the flashlight on his phone and carefully looked down at the place where he had landed.

Sure enough, the area had been stepped on by students who sneaked out in the past and a patch of the messy grass had gone bald, exposing a small patch of mud due to so many feet trampling on it.

He surveyed the uneven ground, looked around at the shrubs, and then shone his flashlight at a large tree not far away.

After standing in the darkness for a while, he suddenly turned around and headed to the school’s cultural and sports building.

The school’s broadcast station was on the first floor. The people had long gone and it was dark inside.

The radio station covered a relatively large area and had some machines inside. Unlike a typical office, the heavy double-opening two doors were hung with a big old-fashioned iron lock.

Ruan Qingmu squinted and peeked inside, considering something in his head.

Under the moonlight, his face was indifferent, but the look in his eyes was sharp and gleamed with a bright light.
