The Grade’s Champion! (3)

The phone was quiet for a few seconds before Fu Songhua furiously shouted, “Fuck! Fuck! Ruan Qingmu, how many insidious tricks have you planned!”

So many classes in the whole school handed their publicity drafts in and the broadcast station would evaluate the quality and harmony of the text. One class usually had two or three drafts which were usually not bad, but Ruan Qingmu, this guy, actually got five accepted articles?

It was three more points from their class, so were they actually leading with one point in the end??

He depressedly and resentfully shouted into Bai Jing’s phone, “You’re too insidious! You must’ve done some PY transaction* with the broadcast station… Aiya. Fang Li, don’t step on me!”

*T/N:  PY is short for chrysanthemum butthole. PY is a phrase popularly used for its unspoken sexual innuendo, the connotation of “going through the back door.”

Fang Li’s voice was soft, carrying a hint of anger in it. “You’re not allowed to curse the people in our class.”

Bai Jing and the others smugly howled. “Damn. Which class is this person from? He keeps on mingling with us here. Let’s drag him out and beat him to death now!”

Inside the boys’ dormitory, Li Zhiyong’s phone also rang.

“Yong-ge, ah. Are you and Liu-ge there? If you haven’t eaten, let’s go eat together later.” Wang Li carefully said over the phone, “The people in our class said we’ll go eat skewers together. Everyone’s extremely happy.”

Li Zhiyong hesitated before looking at Liu Jun’s sudden cold face and hurriedly shouting, “Pah! The hell with eating with those guys! Wang Li, go feast on the food by yourself!”

Wang Li also got angry on the other side. “Go if you want and don’t go if you don’t want to! Tang Tiantian told me to call you guys. Do you think I wanted to call you?”

He angrily hung up the call and muttered to the people on the side, “Those two idiots. They really think they’re the center of the world.”

In the dorm room, Li Zhiyong was dumbfounded. “Wang Li dared to hang up on me!”

Liu Jun ignored him and with a push in his hand, the lock on the locker that he had been picking for half a day was suddenly pried open.

He opened the cabinet door and rummaged through it impatiently, frowning in disappointment. There were just ordinary clothes inside. Suddenly, his gaze fell on a corner of the cabinet and he reached inside to take out a nylon bag.

He casually pulled the zipper and poured the contents inside, suddenly widening his eyes. “Damn, what are these?”

Li Zhiyong peeked down from the bed. “What?”

When he looked at the things scattered on the desk, he rubbed his eyes and cried out in surprise, “Fuck!!”

He hurriedly climbed down from the bed and reached out through the weird pile of things, picking one item out. “A-Are these the things the girls said were stolen from them? Is this considered as helping the school to solve the case?”

Liu Jun took the pair of white lace stockings in his hand with great interest. His gaze was curious and lewd. “Tch, of course. The school needs to praise us.”

He grinned, took out his phone, and took pictures of the things on the desk one by one.

The unlocked door was pushed open and two boys from the next-door dorm rushed inside.

“Let’s go. King of Glory or PUBG… Hey, what are these?”

Liu Jun hurriedly signaled to them with his eyes. “Close the door. Close the door.”

Li Zhiyong excitedly picked up a lipstick, unscrewed it, and smeared it on his hand. “Tch. We only found out about it just now. Awesome, isn’t it?”

The two boys from another class were shocked and moved closer as if looking at something rare. “Fuck! So awesome. Is this from your dorm?”

“That’s right. Do you want to guess who? Hehe…”

Qin Yuan listened to the chaos coming from the phone and raised his head to look at Ruan Qingmu.

His eyes were always cold. When he occasionally showed a gentle expression, it was as if that indifference was like broken ice, revealing the spring water underneath it.

“Have you also calculated the publicity draft?” He softly asked. “Then, we’re not losing unjustly.”

Ruan Qingmu slightly smiled. “Can it be calculated so accurately? Do your best and listen to your destiny.”

On the phone, Bai Jing finally returned to a serious topic. “Ruan-ge, we’ve discussed it. Everyone will go to Come and Get Skewers outside the school for dinner at six o’clock. We’ve reserved a table. Are you coming later?”

Ruan Qingmu sighed. “I don’t have the money to treat you guys.”

“We know you’re broke, sports representative. Don’t be afraid.” Laughters came from the phone. “The class monitor said there’s still more than 600 hundred of the class fee left. She will go to invite Old Jian at once. Everyone can AA* for the rest.”

*T/N: AA: a Chinese slang which means to split the bill.

“Right, let’s split the bill and eat to our heart’s content. We’ll get everyone in our class dead drunk tonight!”

Ruan Qingmu laughed while softly scolding. “Fuck. You bunch of animals still have a conscience.”

He hung up the call and looked at Qin Yuan. “Did you guys plan a party?”

Qin Yuan shook his head. “Our class will usually have a group meal once before the winter vacation.”

“Oh.” Ruan Qingmu stared at his feet and was silent before suddenly saying, “Why don’t you go eat skewers with us? You can also bring Fu Songhua along.”

Qin Yuan abruptly raised his head and looked at him. “…”

“Eh, forget about it. It’s fine if you won’t go. I just casually said it. It’s all right. It’ll be too weird if you go.” Ruan Qingmu felt awkward and suddenly stood up, reaching out to grab the ice bag on his ankle. “To see us celebrating is like rubbing salt on your wounds…”

“I’ll go.” Qin Yuan suddenly spoke.
