I’m Running For (3)

Niu Xiaoqing raised her hand in the first place. “Reporting. I want to run for the publicity representative position. I had run for it once when entering the school but lost to Liu Siyuan. Now that she has moved to the liberal arts class, I hope everyone can give me a chance!”

Niu Xiaoqing was tall and robust, and she usually got along with the boys like brothers. There was a familiar boy’s shout immediately. “Niu Xiaoqing, you can’t even draw. Your arts homework looks like dog shit.”

Niu Xiaoqing held her head high. “I can’t draw, but I have a notion for design. I can ask for others’ help for the specific drawing.”

Several boys booed together and laughed out loud. “Niu Xiaoqing, you just want to be an official, right?”

Niu Xiaoqing raised her voice. “I just want to be an official and develop myself, can’t I?”

Old Jian coughed once. “Then, does anyone want to come out and compete?”

The booing boys shut up immediately.

The publicity representative was responsible for the bulletin board, and it was also a headache when it was the time to hand in a competition’s handwritten drafts. It was suffering for whoever was in the position.

Besides, nobody in Class 9 could draw; there was a famous remark from the art teacher, “Class 9 is an art blackhole. The radiance from the Muses5 shining on the corridor must’ve been blocked at the doorway of Class 9, turned around three times, and left without entering!”

“Nobody else wants to run for it? Then it’s settled. Congratulations to Student Niu Xiaoqing for becoming the new publicity representative. Everyone, give her applause!”

There was warm applause from below, and Ruan Qingmu also applauded with an indifferent face.

Niu Xiaoqing sat with a red face. The class monitor in front, Tang Tiantian, turned her head in happiness and gave her a high-five.

“Next is the sports representative. Is there anyone willing to run for it?” Old Jian asked with a smile.

This time, the atmosphere felt ice-cold.

Suddenly, Liu Jun, raised his hand from the last row of the classroom with a cold face. “I want to continue running for it.”

He stood up and ground his teeth. “Besides, no matter if I’m elected or not, I can guarantee that I will support the next sports representative’s work and won’t obstruct them.”

Several boys beside him looked at him and raised their hands, led by a big-boned boy. “Right, right. We will follow Liu Jun to support the new sports representative!”

Other boys in the classroom all lowered their heads.

Fuck! Was this an election campaign? Wasn’t it obviously a threat?

In this way, whoever dared to run for it would be tormented to death by them in the future. What else should be done?

Ruan Qingmu coldly tilted his head and glanced at Liu Jun.

He has initially been in a bad mood today and felt even more displeased as he looked at this blockhead now.

Old Jian’s face was slightly ugly, but he didn’t say anything.

Liu Jun’s words were flawless and he, as the class teacher, couldn’t find any fault in them. He knew this student was up to no good but didn’t expect that he would be this crooked despite his young age and even dare to do this kind of stuff in front of him.

He nodded. “Well, let’s welcome Liu Jun’s statement. Then, is there anyone else? Student Bai Jing?”

Bai Jing hardly swallowed his saliva and stood up.

Old Jian had called him to the office on this noon’s lunch break and had spoken his intention. Bai Jing’s sports grade was quite good, and he had a good relationship with the boys in the class in normal times. This time, Old Jian was determined to clean the class by replacing Liu Jun with him first.

They had talked about this before in the office, and he had agreed. But his heart suddenly jumped with fright as he listened to Liu Jun’s threat just now.

“Te-Teacher. I don’t have this aspiration. You should just give it to the other students!”

There was an awkward dead silence in the classroom, making Old Jian on the podium silent.

Many boys felt indignant and disliked in their hearts, but nobody dared to stand up in the end.

Liu Jun drew the corner of his mouth and raised his hand again. “Teacher, I guarantee…..”

His movements were a little large, with his arms waving around, and he suddenly hit the back wall and hit a pair of crutches into the ground with a bang.

The classroom was initially very quiet. With this abrupt noise, a lot of people subconsciously looked back.

On the last row, Ruan Qingmu unhurriedly turned his head, looked at the crutches on the ground, and then at Liu Jun.

The dazzling fluorescent light shone on his porcelain-white face; it was delicate and cold.

His voice was clear in the quietness. “Are you blind or a klutz? Since your body isn’t functioning well, don’t be the sports representative and just quit.”

Liu Jun’s face was thoroughly red. “You!”

He almost blurted out a “fucking retreat” but firmly held it back. This was still the moment for election, and he couldn’t just curse and swear in front of the teacher.

Ruan Qingmu impatiently kicked his desk and stood up, creating a muffled sound.

“I’m running for sports representative.” He stood and coldly said, “I don’t have any campaign statement, only a sentence.”

Amidst the shocked gazes, he raised his head, demeanor impatient. “Choose me if you’re annoyed by him or choose him if you’re annoyed by me. It’s that simple.”
