Chapter 281: Third world: Fight To The Death

In the vast mountain range with peaks covered in snow, the once serene atmosphere that is meant to relieve stress was disturbed by loud roars echoing in the mountains. The fluffy clouds floating at the mountains peaks dispersed as though sensing the impending danger. Two dragons, one black the other grey soared the skies spitting out golden-red flames at each other. The weather took a 180-degree turn from cold to extremely hot.

It was as though an equatorial summer had descended upon one of the coldest places on earth, melting the snow off the beautiful mountains. Father and son were at odds with each other not holding back. It was about time they exchanged blows and vent out their grievances.

President Qie believed his son was overdue for a beating so he took advantage of this provocation to put his son in his place. With a swoosh, his spiky tail smacked hard across Qie Ranzhe's back sending the younger dragon a few yards away before stopping. Roaring to the point of causing an avalanche, Qie Ranzhe fired a stream of flames towards his father but the old dragon easily avoided the incoming attack. At light speed, President Qie once again struck the same spot as before clearly intending to break his son's backbone.

He won't rest till his son was spineless and tamed but how could such a task be that easy. Their unyielding character was the same. As the saying goes, they were cut from the same cloth so how could Qie Ranzhe yield easily.

Qie Ranzhe grimaced in pain but tried so hard to hide his discomfort. He didn't want his father to grow a second head assuming he was one to be easily bullied. Just as his father wanted to strike him once more, Qie Ranzhe dodged and swung his tail in his father's face next to the injured eye taking advantage of President Qie's weakness.

The president read his mind and bit hard on Qie Ranzhe's tail with his long sharp teeth. Like a dog playing with a chew toy, President Qie bit down to the point of drawing blood. Qie Ranzhe who hadn't seen it coming roared in pain chasing away the rest of whatever wildlife remaining. The president flung his son down to the ground. The black dragon crashed into the trees at high speed leaving behind a clear stretch of land dividing the forest into two like a fire break.

Qie Ranzhe felt his entire body hurt and just as he raised his head, his father descended like a missile heading straight for him. Qie Ranzhe played dead for a second letting the enemy come closer and once the grey dragon reached his proximity Qie Ranzhe swung his tail hard trying to smack his father away but President Qie bit his tail once more and flung him like a stick causing his son to crash into trees.

In a primitive stance, the grey dragon stood with pride and roared causing the earth to shake establishing his dominance. In a loud voice he said, "Still fighting with your emotions... tsk, tsk, tsk you never learn. As long as you don't learn you will never be able to defeat me."

Kicking him while he's down, President Qie stepped on the fallen dragon's wing and clawed at it causing his son to shudder in pain. He ruthlessly tore his son's wing leaving an unsightly wound that was hard to look at. Qie Ranzhe bellowed in pain but he couldn't shake his father off.

With his piercing gaze, President Qie stared at the torn chunk of flesh and said, "Boy, you flew too close to the sun and got burnt.... have you forgotten whose king? You don't fuckin deserve those wings so guess what...I am going to clip your wings hahaha," with an evil laugh trailing after his speech.

Qie Ranzhe naturally wouldn't let that happen. If he dies what would happen to his lover and his kid. If he couldn't beat his father today then he would make sure they go down together. That way he could ensure his family's safety. He planned on sinking them both at the bottom of the skeleton lake leaving his father with no chance of resurfacing but first he had to deal some damage and weaken the grey dragon's strength.

The young dragon suddenly chuckled astonishing President Qie. He thought he had beat his son silly. In his daze, Qie Ranzhe carried on saying, "You are right but I probably won't walk out this alive.....hahaha....neither will you." The last part was said with a deep treacherous voice that had the president confused. Qie Ranzhe was about to retaliate when the old dragon roared in anguish. Searing flames as powerful as smiting angels burnt the president's back. President Qie was taken by surprise but he didn't have time to recover when he was pushed by a powerful force crashing into a mountain.

Cries of a beautiful firebird cracked the skies as its powerful wings flapped creating a majestic wind. Wen Qinxi could feel his body screaming in anguish holding this form but he couldn't let his lover die. For this reason, he endured and flew down to heal Qie Ranzhe. As the glorious bird descended from the sky the two lovers locked eyes.

One could feel the tender feelings spread through the forest in that one gaze. Having someone watch your back is a gift that most people take for granted but for a person like Qie Ranzhe, it was the most precious thing. He had no one but himself to rely on for his entire life. Yes, friends were there, his mother was there however short it was but it wasn't the same. It wasn't the same as having Feng Zi.

Just as Feng Zi reached him there was a sudden blast directed towards the unsuspecting phoenix. Wen Qinxi saw it coming but it was already too late to dodge. He was about to fight fire with fire but Qie Ranzhe was faster than him taking the flames head on injuring his second wing.

His bruised and battered body was hit hard that he moved a few feet back. The situation would have been fine but he was right at the edge of a cliff. With two injured wings, Qie Ranzhe couldn't fly back up. Pulled down by the force of gravity, Qie Ranzhe freefall from the earth's greatest height. Wen Qinxi didn't hesitate to dive down but because he was too weak he knew he couldn't hold the both of them. The only solution was to feed Qie Ranzhe his blood. Short on time, Wen Qinxi transformed back to his human form and caught up with Qie Ranzhe.

Qie Ranzhe was horrified to see his lover follow him. Panic-stricken, he reached out trying to flap his wings and save Feng Zi. As an inexplicable, heart wrenching pain overwhelmed him he fought with all his might slowing down the rate of freefall. This helped Wen Qinxi catch up. He fell on top of the belly of the dragon that was facing up.

Qie Ranzhe raised his wings and covered Feng Zi protecting him. With the powerful wind blocked Wen Qinxi bit the inside of his lip. As the warm taste of blood filled his mouth, he crawled to Qie Ranzhe's lips. Just like that the dragon was not only kissed but fed a mouthful of blood as they slammed into the ground with a loud thud.
