"What are we supposed to do now? Do you want us to take a loan from the System, or is there another way to extract every bit of the poison?" Hellen asked.

Hellen Wagner was a young woman in her early 20s. She was not a beauty like Olivia and Felicia, but her appearance was certainly above average. That was also what caused quite some problems after the Arcane Apocalypse started.

Hellen didn't want to recall most things that had occurred over the course of two weeks, but she clearly got to know that strength was everything that mattered in the end. If she was too weak, it would only be a matter of time before someone would take her by force. Hellen escaped the grasp of some men without sustaining any injuries, but there were a few encounters that forced her to rely on others to survive.

She hated the feeling of being dependent and forced to rely on others. This feeling grew even stronger as the Silverheart Dwarves killed all men before they knocked out most women to take them back to the Cavern Village. Fortunately, Liam had arrived just in time to save them.

In fact, Liam had not rushed to their rescue, but to kill the Silverheart Dwarves. He didn't show any interest in them and he would have abandoned them if not for Olivia.

Even though Liam's action could be considered somewhat unpleasant, it was still an event that had been imprinted deep upon her heart. She was short, not really strong and her Soultrait [Dismantling and Assimilation] was not exactly something that could be considered helpful in combat.

Because Liam was ready to abandon them, Hellen realized that he had no interest in them. He treated his people well and hated those who were useless. This was specifically why Hellen felt drawn to him. Olivia, Felicia, and Jennie were much more beautiful than she was. They were also clearly interested in Liam, in some way, at least.

Thus, there was no need for her to worry that Liam would force himself upon her. This gave her the opportunity to become stronger while having a supporting pillar to rely on. Hellen didn't want to exploit Liam, but she wanted to seek his advice and guidance. That way, she would be able to fend for herself and help others as much as she had received help.

As for the use of her Soultrait, Hellen learned only later that Liam regarded it very highly. Even if it was of no use in actual combat, being able to dismantle traps, acquire knowledge of the traps that had been dismantled, and assimilate them once again was definitely helpful!

While others, including Hellen, felt that the Soultrait was lackluster, Liam was actually excited to learn how powerful her Soultrait would become once combined with Jennie's Soultrait.

Hellen would be able to help raid ancient ruins and other structures as well as create a secure environment wherever they would decide to sleep. After all, she could swiftly assimilate traps as long as she was given the necessary resources!

Derek broke into a sweat when he heard that Hellen mentioned taking a loan. He was not looking forward to taking a loan since he was actually considering using his Soul as Collateral to loan 50,000 Arcanium. That was how desperate Derek was to regrow his arm!

Liam just shrugged, his head flicking to Felicia.

"Ask for the formula of the antidote and we should be fine," He said in a calming tone. The tension in the room seemed to cool down thanks to Liam's calm demeanor, but Felicia could only look at him with a trace of confusion.

She was still reeling from the effects of the rollercoaster of emotions she had felt for the last hour, in addition to Liam's heartbreaking story.

For the first time, Felicia felt like twisting the neck of a woman who did something unforgivable to her son.

No matter what might have happened between them, a mother should never do what Liam's mother did to him.

"The formula? What do you want to do with that? Do you plan on finding someone who can concoct the antidote? Can we even find someone like this in the next few days?" She thus asked, unable to understand what Liam was hinting at.

Liam raised his eyebrow when he saw how cute Felicia behaved all of a sudden as he answered, "I will concoct it."

Olivia, Felicia and Jennie were a little surprised about Liam's sudden revelation as an Alchemist, but they sighed in relief. They had been a little tense from the moment they found out that the Phasma Decur Poison was not a matter that could be taken lightly.

Thus, it was reassuring to hear that Liam could solve their problems. Hellen and Derek were also relieved, not doubting Liam's words at all, while the exact opposite was the case for most of the others. They frowned at Liam and expected some sort of scheme, to the extent that some of them even began to doubt that he was the real culprit who spread the poison in their underground shelter.

Reassured that Liam could solve the predicament, Felicia used her Soultrait to find out more about the poison in question. The formula was not something she could comprehend with her nonexistent knowledge as an Alchemist, but that was not further problematic.

She forwarded the information she had received, and Liam nodded his head in understanding.

"Your Soultrait is actually much more useful than expected. We should make use of it more often," Liam pointed out before he diverted his attention.

"I will go to the sewers and get hold of a few fresh monster carcasses. You guys can either come with me or stay behind. Don't die." He said, which caused some of them to look at him a little confused. They didn't expect Liam to be so warm and caring all of a sudden.

"The potency of the Phasma Decur Poison is much higher with dead bodies around, and it will be a hassle to cure everyone."

Nevermind.
