Chapter 117 Expensive Information

Liam would never go back on his words. If he promised something, he would always give his utmost to keep his promises.

So he didn't go back on his words after he told Felicia and Jennie that he would take them to their parents.

However, his other plans would have to be tweaked a little. The amount of information he could gather while traveling to Stura, the Golden City, and from the Golden City to Sila, was abysmal. The bits of information weren't worth troubling himself with gathering, in the first place.

"How much Arcanium do you need to get detailed information about the Jula Valley?" He thus asked Felicia, who had been too distracted to notice that Liam was staring at her.

"Hm? Oh…I don't know," She blurted out, "What information are you looking for? I can make a request to the Arcanium of Truth and we will find out how expensive it will be."

Felicia was not too sure what Liam wanted to get to know about the Jula Valley. Was he interested in the human population, the topography, the geography, or something entirely different?

"It's pretty simple, really. I just want to know which races chose to settle down in the Jula Valley and the surrounding regions. I want to know the habitats of monsters all around the Jula Valley, where the strongest monsters are currently establishing their territory, the topography, etc in addition to how the Jula Valley changes in accordance to the sudden influx of Arcane Power, if even more constructions from the Nine Realms manifested, and some basic information about the surrounding regions."

Felicia forwarded Liam's request to her Soultrait, spending one Arcanium in exchange. She remained silent for a few seconds, during which nobody else dared to utter a word.

Derek and most of the other women had yet to grasp the concept of Soultrait, while the two women were already using their Soultraits subconsciously.

All of them were quite intrigued about the power of Soultraits, but none of them dared to ask a question. They knew that their lives would be in better hands if they kept their mouths shut for the time being.

"My Soultrait gives me three different versions of the information you want. The cheapest bundle of information costs 100 Arcanium, the Intermediate version is ten times more expensive and is priced at 1000 Arcanium while the 'perfect' version for the bundle of information you want to get to know costs 2500 Arcanium…" Felicia answered, her voice sounding a little strained.

After she used her Soultrait multiple times in a single day, she felt a little weak. Felicia had never thought that her Soultrait would be that useful. After all, it hadn't been possible for her to find out any information about her family. Felicia was not too sure where the issue was, but her Soultrait didn't work when it was related to her own family or Jennie's family.

In fact, Felicia wanted to find out more about Liam's background, but the Soultrait didn't react to that either.

It was not easy to tell what was wrong with her Soultrait, and she could only accept her fate. Soultraits were not perfect, and they seemed to have restrictions as well.

That was what Felicia had figured out, even though it didn't really explain a lot while Liam's question could always be answered.

"Okay, get the perfect version then," Liam said as he retrieved the Livral Orb.

He didn't hesitate to drain half of the remaining Arcane Power inside the Livral Orb for a small fortune of Arcanium.

[Transaction has been completed, 2500 Arcanium have been added to the balance of the host!]

After he received the Arcanium, Liam made a transaction, handing over 2500 Arcanium to Felicia.

[Liam Wandel(Circleless) transferred 2,500.00 Arcanium to Felicia Jaul(Circleless)]

Felicia was a little astonished about this, but she didn't think that Liam had used up his entire fortune just to obtain some information.

On the contrary, it was pretty obvious to her that Liam was still filthy rich. As long as he sold everything he had procured from the Silverheart Dwarves, and sold the remaining Saphirate Crystals, he should have much more than 2500 Arcanium.

Olivia understood this as well, but the others stared in confusion at Liam, unable to comprehend why he would pay such a huge fortune for some pieces of information.

Not even Jennie could grasp the intention behind Liam's actions.

"I can earn more Arcanium with the information I will get," He told Jennie, who recalled how much they had earned from a single Underground Tower raid. She also grasped how much Liam was about to earn from the loot of the cavern village when she took a look at the price he asked for most goods.

'Is he planning to turn into a bandit?' Jennie wondered while watching Liam, who turned in the direction of the women who had been more annoying than anything else.

"If you're of no use to me, you will have to leave once we enter Stura. I won't raise you, and won't care about your death either. It's already generous enough of me to take you near the gymnasium next to the universities. As long as the other humans continue to hold their forte there, you will be able to survive and find a nice place to live.

If you wish to follow me, which I don't actually hope, you will have to advance on your own, and show me that you are worth it. If you ever try to leech off of me and my group, I am going to let my claws speak in my stead!"

Liam showed the women and Derek his claws once again. They looked grotesque but were long and sharp enough to cut through their bodies with ease.

"I will only be 'nice' until we reach the Golden City!" He repeated and the others nodded their heads.

They were already glad that Liam didn't abandon them right here, especially after their complaints.

It was truly generous of him.

Seeing that everyone understood what he said, Liam nodded his head.

'Nobody should feel like joining me now. That's good. Avoiding the addition of more annoying people in my group is the most important!'
