Chapter 123 Armstrong Family

"This is one of the Vice Chairmans of Congress, Mr. Logan," Jade replied.

Arthur's guess turned out to be wrong, but still, this was a great figure, no less than a minister in terms of status even though his only job was to do surveillance.

Arthur glanced inside the restaurant again. The man's name had been mentioned by his aunt, someone on the opposite side of her.

He wondered if that person was trying to lobby Isabel to do something against her thinking.

Even though he wasn't that curious, Arthur chose to wait.

Isabel wasn't long in the restaurant when Arthur arrived, she came out not long after with a visibly irritated expression.

Seeing Arthur standing beside Jade, she was slightly surprised.

"Arthur, why are you here?" she asked.

"Just passing by and happened to see your car," Arthur replied.

His eyes glanced at the area behind his aunt. An old man who was quite tall, had white hair walking there, followed by two bodyguards.

Just like Isabel, he also looked annoyed.

Of course, they may be annoyed with each other.

Isabel stared at him as he arrived at the door. In response to her gaze, he snorted coldly at her.

"Too hot-blooded young girl, you think everything you do has value, hmph, that's just bullshit," he muttered.

"And what is the value of collecting piles of paper that you made yourself?" Isabel answered with a mocking smile.

"We can buy humans with it."

"They're dogs, not humans!"

"..."

It was a brief conversation, but if an ordinary person heard two officials talk like that, shortness of breath was probably the most common reaction.

As soon as the old man was far enough Isabel said, "come on in!"

Jade nodded before walking to the driver's seat because Isabel had opened the back door first.

Arthur followed the woman.

As the car was moving, he asked, "what exactly did that old man offer you?"

Of course, Arthur guessed it was money or an asset, but the question was how much and what the demand was.

"350 Million Euros and he asked me to quit politics," Isabel answered.

Hearing that, Arthur blinked while Jade glanced back spontaneously.

Although there are not a few people who have more than 350 million, it is still too big a sum, money that will not run out in a generation.

One might kill one's own siblings or parents for that amount of money.

The fact that Isabel refused angrily and even looked down on money made Jade admire her even more. She thought one percent of 350 Million was enough to make her heart and mind shake.

"By the way, what's his background?" Arthur asked again.

Surely the old man was a member of some kind of family or at least their henchman.

"His wife is from the Armstrong Family," Isabel answered. She's calmed down.

"Armstrong?" Arthur glanced out the window to see a bank.

This family is probably the richest in the world so there are rumors that they have more money than all the money in the world. Some say they own all the Central Banks around the world except North Korea and Cuba.

Maybe these two were rumor exaggerations, but it just goes to show how rich they are.

"This family, despite being from Europe, was the one who rejected the nuclear submarine project," Isabel added, something that made Jade take another glance at her.

Arthur guessed that they were also members of the God Eye Organization, perhaps one of its controllers since the family's influence in America was as great as it was in Europe.

"That's right, I sent the branch with a special expedition," Isabel said suddenly.

Arthur looked at her and then nodded. It was difficult to get a minister to come here, but he thought the minister would come soon.

__

That night, when Arthur had just finished taking a shower, the sound of a sports car roaring echoed outside the house, startling Isabel who was sitting in the living room.

Before she could do anything Arthur came down from the top floor, wearing trousers and a rather light black jacket.

Seeing that, she immediately concluded what happened.

"Is that little girl already in your grasp? She even picks you up at this hour," she said with a strange smile.

"I'll just take care of the branches," Arthur replied, refuting Isabel's thoughts.

Of course, the woman didn't believe it, as her smile turned into a mocking smile.

Arthur didn't say anything more, he took a step out.

Tonight, Bella didn't happen to be staying the night because she had to meet her parents, so there was no distractions.

Arriving outside, Arthur saw Amanda had gotten out of her car.

The woman was also wearing a jacket, but her legs, she was only wearing shorts that didn't reach a third of her thighs.

Compared to when she was wearing a skirt, her legs looked longer and slimmer this time, something that would make any man who saw them wonder what it felt like to be hugged by them.

As Arthur approached, she gave him an inexplicable smile.

Arthur chose not to say anything to her, he entered the passenger seat and immediately leaned back without fastening his seat belt.

When he looked at the dashboard, he found the black rose he had given her. It was in a small glass pot.

"You are ready, right, my dear?" Amanda asked as she sat in the driver's seat.

Arthur glanced at her then took out his phone and replied, "I'm always on hand, even now!"

"Ehmmm..." The woman had no other choice but to clear her throat.

She buckled up before slamming on the accelerator, hurtling through the slightly cooler night air than usual.

Some leaves started falling from their branches, indicating that autumn had arrived. It's definitely earlier than usual.

In the mountainous areas to the east, it is much colder than in the city. Interestingly enough, though, Arthur saw a lot more people tonight.

"Looks like there's a race" Amanda said as she looked at the people.

"Is it a wild race?" asked Arthur.

"Yeah, it's always lively, young people from city come to watch or participate, are you interested?" Amanda ended her words with a question.

Then, however, she laughed.

"Right, I remember you can't drive, ahh, if only you could, I'll lend you my car," she said.
