Chapter 29 An Agate

"It's already tame," Arthur replied, naturally leaving the crowd speechless, they recalled his earlier words.

Amanda rolled her eyes at the tiger. Even though it had calmed down, it still gave off a frightening impression.

"Hmmm!" Erick cleared his throat. He seemed bothered by this kind of situation.

He said, "Arthur, right? As I said, this is a place for adults, not children. I don't know what's wrong with you, but maybe you need to go to a mental hospital to have your mental health checked."

"Hahaha, I'm afraid the mental hospital can't cure him either, after all, no madman said that he can tame a wild tiger." Henry laughed.

The people, though they didn't say anything, looked at Arthur strangely, as if they thought so too.

Of course, Arthur ignored them, he walked to another cage. The other tigers have been standing since the first tiger jumped. They probably sensed a threat from Arthur, so their gazes on him were filled with wariness.

"Hey, don't do that again." Someone tried to rebuke Arthur.

The five men behind Erick looked like they wanted to move to stop him, but then, Luke who was following beside Erick said, "maybe we should take a look at him for a bit. In the event of an accident, he can only blame himself for being too arrogant."

Erick thought it would be a good idea to see his suffer a bit, so he nodded, blocking the men from acting.

However, he still gave a single order, "call Mr. Roy over here!"

The man was the expert he had hired, able to calm even an angry tiger.

"This is weird, what's with the tiger?" People were quick to wonder.

They saw that as Arthur passed through the circle of the cage, the tiger inside retreated backwards, not trying to attack him. And it was still the same when he put his hand in that cage.

The fingers of the hand moved back and forth, as if provoking the tiger to come over.

"Come on little cat, you met the right master, I promise I will take you to a place where you can look down on this small world," he said, making people not know whether to laugh or cry.

Of course, they were confused as to why the tiger wasn't moving. Some thought there was something wrong with it, maybe it was sick.

Erick couldn't help but stare at Johnny. "Check the conditions!"

The bald man hesitated a bit, but Erick's gaze left him with no other choice but to step forward. He approached the cage through his starboard side where Arthur was.

And as soon as he passed through the circle, the tiger suddenly opened its mouth, staring down at him.

Roar!

Its hoarse roar resounded, shaking its cage. Johnny was so scared that he jumped backwards, falling into a sitting position. Sweat filled his forehead.

"Don't tell me that this guy really has the ability?" Someone said.

"No, he just used a trick!" Suddenly an answer came.

Arthur couldn't help but look at the person who said that. He was a middle-aged man, tall but thin, walking with his hands behind his back.

Arthur wouldn't really be attracted to him if it weren't for the necklace with the agate pendant around his neck. He narrowed his eyes as he looked at the agate.

"Mr. Roy, what do you mean?" Herny asked the man.

The latter replied, "I believe he studied at a circus and he is very skilled, so he could have confused the tiger. Of course, this is a wild tiger, not the kind a circus performer would mess with. However, this tiger is in a very full state, which causes his beastly side to diminish so that he can be toyed with by highly skilled circus performers."

"It turned out like that…" The people showed understanding expressions.

"Just this trick, I can do it too," Roy added, stepping closer to the cage.

He showed no hesitation as he passed through the hoop. And sure enough, when the tiger looked at him, it was very calm.

"Hehehe!" He laughed, looking at Arthur in amusement. "Young man, your way of impressing a lady is really good, I would not criticize you, would even support you if we were elsewhere, but unfortunately, I work here, and I need to help my boss uncover your tricks."

"Ha ha ha!" Henry burst out laughing. "It turned out to be just a circus performer, oh, I remember last night you took out a rose out of nowhere, why didn't I notice." He patted his head.

Meanwhile, Erick said to Amanda. "I won't comment if the guy you like is a circus performer, maybe you're not as good as people say you are."

Amanda knitted her brows at his words. However, she didn't feel that way. She was sure there was something hidden about Arthur, something she had suspected ever since she met him at the party last night.

"I hope you really won't be commenting," Amanda replied before looking at Arthur again. She still felt calm because Arthur didn't change his expression at all.

"Are you a former circus performer?" Arthur asked Roy.

The middle-aged man nodded. "When I was young, but it wasn't interesting, so I retired early, it was more fun to play with wild animals."

"Did you dare to do this at that time?" Arthur asked again.

For a moment, Roy's face contorted, but he confidently replied, "of course I dare, it's very easy."

"Tsk!" Arthur laughed softly. "By the way, where did you get the necklace?"

His eyes became sharp as he stared at the necklace, causing Roy to be so shocked that he almost took a step back.

He looked like he wanted to tuck the necklace into his collar but didn't dare to do so when he saw where he was.

"I'll show you what a circus performer can't do," Arthur continued before looking at the tiger again.

"Come!" He said to it in a fairly loud voice. The tiger furs moved right after that. If someone with sharp eyes saw it, they would notice that it was actually trembling.

Then, the tiger that had been keeping distance from Arthur finally stepped closer to him.

Arthur touched its forehead in a quick motion then went to the third cage.

At the same time, he said to Amanda. "I suggest you pay them now to avoid some trouble!"
