Take a Look at the Demon Realm (1)

Of course Rothgarr didn’t agree with Anna’s words. How could he, as the Grand duke of The Abyss, fall in love with a human being?

But what he felt just now was also true.

Rothgarr quickly thought it through. He still had some of Raymond’s memories, and the feelings he had for Anna just now were obviously the remnants from occupying Raymond’s body.

After a few days, these feelings would dissipate, and he didn’t have to worry about this at all.

As for why he had to bring Anna back, this was a decision he made very early on. He was very upset that she, a mere human, was belittling the Demon Realm, so he would let her take a good look at the Demon Realm.

And because of her, he had spent five full months in vain. She wanted to be left alone in the Human Realm to be free? Dream on.

Rothgarr thought this as he walked into the neighboring room, which was his room.

This was Balan’s castle. After he returned to the Demon Realm, he brought Anna directly here. His castle was empty; Balan had at least one human woman here, so it would be more convenient to take care of Anna.

Anna didn’t know how long she slept; when she woke up again, she slowly got out of bed.

She still remembered that she was seriously injured by Ab–Aosta’s attack. It was the kind of serious injury that should render her at least paralyzed and unable to move in bed, but right now, besides being a little tired, and her limbs weak, she felt fine.

At that time, Aosta was really merciless. She treated him to so many roast geese; her kindness was truly in vain.

The human Abel and the demon Aosta gave Anna a completely different feeling. She thought, the human Abel could be considered dead. As for the demon Aosta, he had nothing to do with her.

Anna looked down. She was wearing a conservative white nightdress. The collar covered her collarbone, the sleeves reached her wrists, and the hem reached down to her ankles. The temperature in the room was just right, and she didn’t feel cold or hot.

She walked slowly to the window and opened the curtains.

There were a lot of candles lit everywhere in the room, but it was pitch black outside. Except for this castle, there was an endless plain. She felt like she saw a huge shadow rising and falling in the darkness.

This was the Demon Realm.

Anna thought, for the best, she could get rid of the honorary title of Wang Yuyan of the Western Fantasy.* The sixty ways to kill demonic creatures that the demon had taught her might come in handy here.

[T/N: Wang Yuyan is a character from the TV show “Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils” who is described as a beautiful, intelligent and flawless young maiden independent of all worldly traits.]

There was a knock on the door from behind, and the door opened as soon as Anna turned her head. Two people walked in. One of them was Catherine, who had been watching over her when she was unconscious, and the other… It didn’t seem like she was a human.

The humanoid creature with a female body was only as tall as Catherine’s shoulders and had a slender figure. Just looking at her exposed hands, except for the excessively slender fingers, they were no different from ordinary human hands. But her head had some rabbit characteristics, such as red eyes, cleft lips, two huge front teeth, two drooping ears, and a pair of eyes that are larger than ordinary.

A difference of lighting drew the line between calling her cute or uncanny valley.

For example, now, with enough light in the room, this humanoid looked very cute.

“Anna, are you able to walk already?” Catherine said in surprise when she saw that Anna had gotten out of bed.

Anna smiled and said, “I can walk slowly.”

She said and walked slowly back to the bed and sat down.

The humanoid rabbit was carrying some food in her hand. She quietly walked over and put the whole tray on the bedside table, then silently stepped aside.

Catherine sat down on the chair beside the bed and looked at Anna with gentle eyes: “Balan said he was afraid you would be bored, so he had me accompany you.”

Anna smiled: “He is really considerate.”

Catherine looked at Anna, and Anna looked at the food on the bedside table, but no one spoke for a while.

Catherine suddenly said to the humanoid rabbit, “Rabbit, you go out first.”

The humanoid rabbit bowed and left without making a sound.

Hearing the sound of the door closing, Catherine took Anna’s hand, frowned and said, “Anna, I’m a human like you. I… I haven’t seen a human in months, I’m really happy to meet you.”

Anna was stunned. She looked at Catherine, and thought that Balan was quite affectionate.

But Catherine looked at the candle in the corner of the room and said softly, “In twenty days, I will marry Balan.”

Anna looked at Catherine in astonishment. After all, the demon said that it was impossible for a demon to fall in love with a human being.

“But…can demons really fall in love with humans?” Anna asked hesitantly.

Catherine smiled lightly, a little shy and a little wistful at the same time.

“I don’t know…but I’d like to believe that Balan loves me.”

Anna didn’t say anything. She herself was more inclined not to believe so.

How could they fall in love as different races?

But of course she wouldn’t say this and make Catherine unhappy.

Catherine didn’t continue the topic. She looked at Anna curiously and said, “Anna, Balan once told me that with Lord Rothgarr’s mouth, no woman would agree to his proposal… I didn’t think he would succeed either.”

Anna’s heart jumped. So the demon’s full name was Rothgarr.

Looking at Catherine, who seemed to be a year or two younger than her, looking at her like a curious baby, Anna’s attitude loosened: “Do you want to hear the story?”

Catherine nodded again and again: “I really want to hear it!”

Anna somehow was reminded of Natalie. She didn’t know if Natalie, suffering multiple injuries, could recover as well as she had. And Leon too…
