Had a Dream Last Night (2)

Although Anna did take Natalie as her good friend, Natalie was not very good at hiding things, so she wouldn’t tell her about that little secret of hers and the demon’s, lest she increased the burden on Natalie.

She nodded and said, “I heard from Teresa. I heard that Hansen lost two teeth and was beaten up very badly. He still wants to frame Raymond, what a truly awful person.”

Natalie only heard that Hansen was beaten up. When she heard what Anna said, she covered her mouth in surprise and said, “How dare he do that! How awful of him!”

“Right? He even slandered Raymond, saying that he had an affair with a married woman in the Association. I dare not tell Raymond about this. If he knew about this, he might kill Hansen!” Anna said angrily, “You also remember to keep it secret in front of Raymond. The Association doesn’t believe in Hansen’s slander. It seems that they don’t plan to ask Raymond at all. We also shouldn’t let anything slip.”

Natalie nodded over and over. She covered her mouth and said sullenly, “I won’t say a word!”

The two talked all the way to the potion lab, and then invested in the preparation of potions.

By noon, Anna had mastered two more potions, while Natalie was still working on the second potion on the list.

The two packed up their things and left the potion lab to eat in the cafeteria together.

Unexpectedly, as soon as they walked out of the building the potion lab was in, they were stopped by Hansen.

Anna looked at the man in front of her. Because of the spell of Holy Healing, the wound on his face had actually healed a lot, but Holy Healing only accelerated the recovery, not all the injuries, so there were still faint traces on Hansen’s face of him being beaten up into a pig’s head.

The knocked-out teeth, however, could no longer grow back. When Hansen spoke, Anna saw his missing front teeth.

Anna knew that Hansen only regarded her as an insignificant, powerless person right now, so she tried hard to hold back her laughter, so as not to provoke his hostility to her.

After all, the one who did the crime was the demon; Hansen should go to him. She, an innocent onlooker, was better left alone.

Anna, who had long ignored the two slaps she dealt, stood in front of Natalie and looked at Hansen and said, “Mage Hansen, do you need me for anything?”

Anna’s voice was completely different from the sweet voice last night. Hansen didn’t hear any resemblance, and it was even more impossible for him to think of her. He still didn’t know that last night was a trap against him; he thought that the affair last night really happened, only that Raymond was highly vigilant, and his sneak attack was discovered in advance by Raymond, which led to him being beaten up by Raymond in turn.

Just as others didn’t think that Raymond would have an affair with a married woman in the Association, Hansen also didn’t think that someone as arrogant as Raymond would pretend to have an affair with someone just to lure him over. The person who beat him up yesterday didn’t use magic. Who else could it be other than  Raymond, who was like him and couldn’t use magic right now?

But now, the people in the Association didn’t believe what he said, and neither did his family. They all thought that Raymond would not have an affair with a married woman in the Association, and so he could only find evidence himself. Because his family and the Association asked him not to take the initiative to contact Raymond, he first came to Anna, the woman who Raymond used his life to protect at the line of life and death.

Hearing Anna’s question, Hansen smiled stiffly: “Did you know that Raymond had an affair with another woman here last night?”

“Impossible, don’t talk nonsense to slander Raymond!” Anna showed an angry look after being surprised. Now that she and the demon were often seen together, people in the Association had long had all kinds of speculations about her relationship with “Raymond”. Of course, her reaction must be in line with these “expectations”.

Hansen didn’t find Anna’s refusal to believe in him surprising at all. He stared at Anna with his blue eyes and smiled strangely: “Do you think Raymond will be devoted to you? Do you know how many admirers Raymond has that are more beautiful and more capable than you? You are just a mage’s disciple. You’re just a new play thing that he’ll get tired of soon. What’s the strange thing about him cheating with other women?”

Anna was not angry at all after hearing this. She even felt regretful that what Hansen said wasn’t true. Wouldn’t it be great if the demon got tired of playing with her and hurried on to find the next victim?

But Natalie, who was standing behind Anna, was so angry that her eyes were red. Although she was still a little afraid of Mage Raymond, she saw what he did to Anna! That time at the line of life and death, it was only because of Anna’s request that Mage Raymond was willing to save Natalie as well. She didn’t believe Hansen at all about Raymond getting bored of Anna!

“Don’t talk nonsense! Mage Raymond is obviously sincere to Anna!” Natalie couldn’t help but speak in a hurry.

Hansen didn’t take Natalie seriously. Natalie, who couldn’t pass the one-star mage promotion test for so many years, was a waste. He didn’t know what luck she had to, through her relationship with Anna, get to know Raymond. Of course she would do everything in her power to maintain his good graces.
