Don’t Cross the Line (4)

After becoming a one-star mage, the money spent on learning would only be much more than what the typical mage needed in the training period, and the annual salary obtained from being a baron was thrown into the one-star mage’s learning career like throwing a pin to the black hole, not even a plop in the ocean.

Therefore, Anna could only rely on refining her powers. She planned to learn them one by one, and then wait until the assessment came around to do a big review, and formulate all the potions for the last time .

Natalie was devastated when she learned about Anna’s revision plan, because she used to guess which potions she would take the test and focused on reviewing them before the exam. Several of the twenty kinds of potions She never concocted several of the twenty different potions before; for example, the potion that could grow hair after a month of continuous consumption.

Anna arranged all the more than 20 kinds of potions and asked Natalie to practice with her. The two of them occupied one side of the test bench. Within fifteen minutes, Anna had prepared the first magic potion on the list, which was used to treat insomnia. Looking at Natalie again, there was sweat beading on her forehead. She was still struggling with the potion ingredients.

Anna took advantage of this time to start the production of the wisteria extract. Now she only needed half an hour to make two units of the extract, but this half an hour was already her limit; she couldn’t reduce the time any more.

Half an hour later, Anna wiped the sweat from her forehead. She noticed that Natalie had already started a third concoction of the sleeping potion. The first two had failed.

The two of them separately purchased and used the raw potion ingredients. Anna only bought one set, while Natalie obviously did not have confidence in herself, so she bought ten sets in one go. As of now, it seemed that she really made the right decision.

Anna did not continue the production of the extract. She stood by and watched Natalie’s operation, and when Natalie also failed this time, she said aloud: “You introduced the water element too early; you can try to add it a minute later next time. Also, you don’t use it long enough; you have to treat it for an extra minute and a half.”

Natalie nodded, and took a notebook to write down what Anna said. Although she failed three times, she had a smile on her face: “Anna, I think my practice in the meditation room was really useful! In the past, when I used the water element to concoct potions, it felt like the water element was concocting the potion by itself. I didn’t know when to start or stop, but now I really feel like I’m in control of the water element. It’s all under my control!”

Natalie clenched her fists, her eyes sparkling. She was rejoicing at her visible progress.

“This shows that you are enlightened. Come on, practice more, practice makes perfect!” Anna encouraged.

Anna and Natalie spent this afternoon in the potion lab.

With her talent and experience in mental power micro-manipulation, Anna successfully prepared four kinds of potions, and also found the time to make ten units of extract. Additionally, she was able to solve a small problem with the way Natalie was preparing one of the potions.

At seven o’clock in the evening, both of them were exhausted and could no longer concoct a single potion. Fortunately, Natalie finally successfully prepared the first sleeping potion in her life before running out of potion ingredients.

“My father hasn’t been sleeping well for the past two days, so I can give this to him.” Natalie smiled wearily, not showing any ill will when she talked about her father.

Anna couldn’t help but patt Natalie’s head. She also gave Natalie the sleep aid potion she made.

If her father wanted to marry her against her wishes, she would definitely feel resentful and even have a falling out with her father, but Natalie did not. She struggled very hard under the framework set by her father, but did not have the slightest resentment.

She might not agree with Natalie’s ideas, but she would respect it and do her best to help her.

When Anna and Natalie walked out of the potion lab, they found someone waiting for them, or more accurately, waiting for Anna.

Natalie was glanced at by Rothgarr. She said very politely: “Then I’ll head out first, see you tomorrow, Anna!”

Then she scurried away.

Anna remembered the unhappy breakup between the two before. She stepped forward and said with a smile, “Are you waiting for me?”

“I’m better,” Rothgarr said.

“Huh?” Anna looked puzzled, and then suddenly said, “Your mental power has completely recovered?”

Rothgarr nodded nonchalantly. Then, he looked at Anna, as if waiting for her to speak.

Anna knew what he wanted to hear from her…but could she say that the plan couldn’t keep up with the changes? It was true that she had said before that they could go to the line of life and death together once his mental strength recovered, but now that she had a way to make money steadily, and now that she was still busy learning potion preparation, she didn’t want to take risks anymore.

Just as Anna was about to euphemistically suggest that she could use another method to “enhance feelings”, she suddenly saw a familiar person walking by from a distance. She was slightly startled, and hurriedly approached the demon. She pointed over there and whispered: “Is that man Hansen York?”

Rothgarr followed Anna’s finger, killing intent in his eyes. But before he could walk over, he was stopped by Anna.

Rothgarr turned back with a cold expression: “You want to stop me?”

Anna shook her head: “If I wanted to stop you, I wouldn’t point him out to you. I just don’t think you should let him have evidence against you.”

She smiled slyly: “Beat him up. Let him know who beat him, but don’t leave evidence. Isn’t it better?”

Rothgarr watched as Anna smiled and his heart jumped slightly. He forcibly resisted and ignored the desire to touch her. The corner of his mouth curled into a malicious smile: “Okay.”
