Pledge to Marry? (1)

Rothgarr's hesitation was only because he was reluctant to let go of the opportunity to earn Anna’s favor as “Raymond”.

After desperately protecting her today, he would have undoubtedly taken a big step forward toward his goal, and might even have directly succeeded.

But if Anna died here, everything would be for naught.

Rothgarr hesitated only for a moment. He had no choice but to show his real body to save Anna, and then……He thought about Anna's vigilance against Balan; he would not use his  demon form to do anything with her.

He could only let Raymond reap all the benefits from him saving Anna—No, he wouldn't allow such a thing.

Thinking of how hard he had worked and Raymond getting it all without doing a thing, Rothgarr's heart surged with murderous intent.

If he didn’t want Raymond to benefit from his hard work, he would just kill him. It was better for Raymond to exist in Anna's memory than to exist in her life.

Rothgarr was about to come out of Raymond’s body when the three demonic creatures suddenly roared in horror. A baby blue light rose from the soles of their feet, wrapping around their bodies like tentacles. First it was their limbs, next it was their large torsos, and then their heads….

Enveloped by the blue, water-like light, these demonic creatures struggled desperately. However, at the next moment, the soft, seemingly powerless water quilt suddenly tightened around them. The desperate last cries of the demonic creatures didn’t even have time to ring out before they stopped moving.

The blue light dissipated. The three demonic creatures were utterly dead.

The intrinsic properties of the water element were pliant and lethal.

Anna looked to the side suddenly. Her eyes lit up and she shouted: "Mage Leon!"

Emerging from behind the tree was Leon Freeman.

As he approached, he carefully checked whether the demonic creatures were really dead. Once he made sure, he walked over to Anna, looked at her and asked, "Are you hurt?"

“No.” Anna shook her head quickly. Those small scratches on her body were no big deal..

Anna had not taken the initiative to find Leon since she had completed the introductory courses. The book list he provided was very good. She had nothing to ask him for the time being, and she was too embarrassed to go to him for some trivial questions. She heard Teresa at the service countersay that Leon was always busy. If he was not completing missions, he was cultivating.

She never thought that, at this crucial moment, she would run into Leon, who probably coincidentally happened to be here completing a mission!

Anna was relieved at this moment. She thought that the demon had no choice but to show his true form this time. She still didn’t know how she would deal with that, but fortunately, Leon appeared in time. The demon didn't have to reveal his true form.

She turned her head to look at the demon. After seeing Leon walking out, he also slowed his steps. At this moment, he had caught up to them.

At this moment, his appearance was really unkempt. There didn't seem to be a good section of skin on his whole body; blood was flowing all over. What was even more heartbreaking was that he had a cold look on his face, and he looked at Leon as if he wanted to rip his body to pieces.

After the demonic creatures were taken care of, Rothgarr was truly relieved that he didn’t need to give up Anna’s good feelings to someone else.

But the person who came was Leon.

He had an inexplicable hostility towards Leon, and Anna's reaction when she saw Leon made him so angry that he didn't even want her good feelings anymore.

“They were my prey.” Rothgarr stood in front of Leon. Although his body was weak and his mental strength was drained, he stood tall and looked at Leon coldly.

Leon and Raymond had always been at odds with each other, but at the moment, Leon said truthfully: "Indeed; I just took the last shot."

Anna didn't know if Leon was being polite or not. She could see very clearly that if Leon had not appeared, the demon could only destroy those demonic creatures by revealing his true form. That would have been a lose-lose situation for her and the demon. Both she and the demon should be grateful to Leon.

But she could see that the demon was really hostile to Leon, and she didn't appreciate it at all.

Anna calmly analyzed the situation in her heart, and then looked at the current disheveled appearance of the demon. Truthfully, it was hard to bear the sight. She hurried over to support his arm, and said with worry: "Mage Raymond, you are so badly injured; we should hurry back to Black Cloud City!"

Anna didn't care about the blood stains on Rothgarr's body. She tightly held onto him, and he actually relaxed a little.

This body really can't hold on anymore.

Although the fact that Leon finally robbed him of part of the credit still made him very unhappy, Anna's reaction somewhat offset the unhappiness.

"I will use the Holy Healing technique to stop the bleeding first." Leon said.

Anna wanted to thank him, but she heard the demon say in disgust: "No need."

She sighed in her heart. What a troublesome demon, being reckless just because it was someone else's body.

Anna's hand suddenly loosened, and Rothgarr, who had been leaning half of his body weight on her, stumbled and nearly fell. He was held up by Anna in time.
