Sowing Discord (3)

“Although I don’t like to mind the business of others, in my castle, between servants and treasures, there is everything that one expects to find.” Balan continued to throw bait. “Whether it is a wise monster or an ignorant monster, they all kneel and tremble before me.”

Money, status, and power. He had it all. Wasn’t she tempted yet?

Anna felt that it was very impolite to not show a certain amount of envy and yearning when others were showing off. Especially when the other person was a demon, this was not only impolite, but simply fatal.

As a result, she looked at Balan’s gaze, and mustered up a little more admiration: “How amazing!”

Balan curled his lips. He felt that Rothgarr was too hard-hearted. Was it necessary that only someone who loved his character could agree to his marriage proposal? Getting them to love his appearance and status also counted towards his goal. You must know how to adapt.

After all, just based on the appearance of Rothgarr, which woman couldn’t help love him? If he wanted his targets to love him, it would be as it was now, without any success.

Balan ridiculed Rothgarr unceremoniously in his heart, but diverted the subject from his status in the Demon Realm as soon as he saw success.

Anna said that she had rested enough, and the two continued on the road.

After walking for a while, Anna found that there was a sense of familiarity around her, as if it was the place where the demonic creature had kidnapped her. If so, she knew how to go naviagte the road ahead.

It was a pity that Balan couldn’t be abandoned yet.

As a human being, Anna got tired easily and needed a lot of rest time. After walking for less than two hours, Balan noticed her fatigue and suggested to rest again.

This time Balan didn’t leave, so Anna simply meditated in front of him. Meditation helped to restore energy. Although Balan was an unreliable demon, it was too easy for him to kill her anyway. He wouldn’t have to wait for her to meditate to kill her, and so she had nothing to worry about.

When Anna finished her meditation, she opened her eyes to see a roast chicken in front of her.

……Was this a dream?

Before she had time to pinch herself, Balan laughed and said, “I was lucky; I just went out and wandered around and found this roast chicken. Anna, you must be hungry.”

Anna looked at the roasted golden-brown chicken dusted with an assortment of spices which had grown slightly cold, and she couldn’t help falling into silence.

Where in the world could you find this stuff lying around? She was afraid it “picked up” in someone else’s caravan!

Anna had even eaten the meat of demonic creatures, so of course the slightly cold roast chicken was not a problem.

But she didn’t want to eat what Balan gave her. What if there was a kind of “obedient medicine” that did not exist in her past world but exists in this supernatural world?

When passing through cities and villages before, Anna had bought dry food, and now she still carried two dry cakes with her, enough to last her the walk to Black Cloud City.

“I don’t like chicken, you can eat it.” Anna said as she took out her dry bread, “I can just eat this.”

Balan smiled: “Demons don’t need to eat, it’s a waste to give it to me.”

Anna thought: it was normal for demons to not eat ordinary food; after all, there were delicious souls to eat. Who wants to eat rotten apples when one can eat durian!

“Then that’s really a waste.” Anna said it was a waste, but she had no intention to eat the roast chicken.

Balan looked at Anna’s mouthful of dry cakes, and only thought that her careful thoughts were too cute.

Because she didn’t want him to see her indecent appearance of eating roast chicken, she deliberately said that she didn’t want to eat chicken. It was a pity that he already had Catherine, otherwise he would really want to take up her challenge.

Anna could have rushed to Black Cloud City before dark, but she was captured by the three-headed demonic creature and walked the wrong way when finding her way back, so she still couldn’t see the outline of Black Cloud City when nighttime arrived. She could only set up camp tonight.

Because she had been in the wild for several days, Anna felt that she was covered with dirt and grime and wanted to take a bath, so she admired the fact that Balan didn’t even look disgusted by her.

Balan found a branch, and watched with great interest as Anna lit a fire. He sat with her by the fire.

Looking at the girl on the opposite side quietly in the firelight, he found that the small face that looked a little gray during the day was a bit beautiful at this moment. Those sky-blue eyes reminded him of the blue sky that humans liked, pure yet profound. It made him want to find out more.

Of course, he immediately thought of his Catherine, and threw this undesirable idea away.

Realizing that he had earned enough good feelings all day, Balan smiled and said, “Anna, after I go to visit my friend’s family, do you want to come back to the Demon Realm with me?”

Anna was taken aback and asked: “I am a human, can I also go to the Demon Realm?”

Balan thought, Look, isn’t this very easy?

She didn’t ask him why he asked, but instead asked her the feasibility of going to the Demon Realm, wasn’t it because she really wanted to follow him there?

“Of course you can. It is a little troublesome, but there is a way.” Balan smiled, “If it is for Anna you, that little trouble is nothing at all.”

Rothgarr, who was standing under the tree not far away, was hiding in the shadows, watching this scene with biting eyes. He felt humiliated when he heard that Anna did not immediately reject Balan’s proposal.

Every time he proposed in the past, she had refused very quickly and simply, right? Although the reasons were different, she had never not refused.

But when it was Balan’s turn, she hesitated.

All kinds of terrible thoughts flashed through his mind, and Rothgarr stared at Anna through the fire, waiting to see what destiny she had chosen for herself.
