Rejecting the Proposal (2)

Rothgarr didn't want to add to the benevolent reputation of the Holy Son. He turned his head to look over, and his long silver hair bent into a light curve and dropped to the side of his neck: "I helped him because he is your brother."

Anna held onto little Evan. He slept soundly and leaned softly on her shoulder. She seemed to feel his dependence on her.

In front of her, the demon had spoken some words, who, if it was anyone else, she would consider very emotional. But coming from his mouth and with his expression, it really gave people an oppressive feeling, like she owed him a debt of gratitude.

Anna's mood was also a bit complicated now, but of course she would not make the demon upset right now right here.

She smiled; "Yes, I understand...Thank you very much, I don't even know how to repay your kindness."

Rothgarr almost couldn't help saying "Then just marry me," but seeing Anna still carrying little Evan, and on top of the fact that his previous failures had left a shadow on him, he planned to wait again. If he still didn’t succeed this time, he would really run out of patience.

"You go on," he said at last.

Anna saluted and said goodbye, and after leaving the bedroom, she suddenly quickened her pace.

Just now she thought she was going to face the "forced marriage" of the demon again! When that scene came, it would probably be very ugly because she wouldn’t agree to "marry him" just because he saved little Evan.

Anyway, little Evan was cured, so he could just kill her directly if he was so capable!

Anna thought this rather rascally, and regained her conscience again.

It really wasn’t good to use others in this way, but if the other party was a demon who wanted to harvest her soul... maybe she could forgive herself a little?

Anna brought little Evan to the back door of the earl estate. Seeing that little Evan had recovered and was sleeping soundly, Gaea's face was beaming with joy and she murmured, "Thank the goddess, thank the goddess for her kindness for letting little Evan stay!"

Anna thought to herself, thank what goddess? The one she should thank was clearly her, who had gone to ask the demon for help, and the demon, who was actually willing to help!

Of course she didn't say this out loud. She handed little Evan over to Gaea, and watched Gaea lead Adele away while carrying little Evan. Adele had walked a distance already, but still turned back and waved at her.

Anna was a little worried about the body of the Holy Son. She did not delay her trip back, and she soon arrived at the Holy Son's bedroom.

The demon was still leaning against the table. His eyes were closed slightly, and the cold sweat on his forehead had dried, but his face was still pale as paper.

Anna paused, and the conscience that had just been put away started to jump out a little.

She walked over softly, and as soon as she got in front of the demon, he opened his eyes and looked at her from the bottom up.

"Esteemed Holy Son, shall I help you to the bed?" Anna asked softly. She knew that when people felt dizzy and had a headache, they couldn’t be exposed to too much sound; it could aggravate the symptoms.

Anna's whispering sounded really comfortable in Rothgarr’s ears. Seeing her approach, he let her help him back to bed, but he couldn't help but sneer in his heart.

Balan was sure he would lose the bet, but he really underestimated him.

Look at what Anna looked like right now. It took less than two days for her to take the initiative to approach him. The church couldn’t save her brother; it was him who saved her. She obviously had interest in him, but she didn’t dare to act on it because she was afraid of the Vatican. Now the priest of the Vatican had let her down. She probably understood that he was strong enough to protect her and her family. And he also told her that he had fallen in love with her at first sight; she would never let go of this opportunity.

Rothgarr's head was indeed dizzy. Most of his body weight was placed on Anna, and she supported him back to the bed.

Casting the sacred healing spell just now had exhausted his mental power that he had only regained after a day of recuperating. But seeing Anna's reaction, he felt it was very worthwhile.

Anna helped the demon lie down on the bed. She covered him with a blanket and tucked him in.

She stood by the bed and looked at him; her feelings were really complicated.

He had really worked very hard to save little Evan, but she was very clear about his underlying motives and ultimate goal, which caused her perception of him to be somewhat fragmented.

On the one hand, he who wanted to harvest her soul was undoubtedly evil, but on the other hand, she couldn’t help thinking, even if he was a demon, did he also have a good side?

Rothgarr was already ready to go to bed, but Anna's strong presence by his bed made him open his eyes.

He looked at her somewhat conflicted expression, and he couldn't help frowning.

Was this her being unable to wait to give her body to him?

Rothgarr originally wanted to wait two days for her to take the initiative to show her real intentions before bringing up the matter of proposing. "Agree to his marriage proposal.” This was the content of his bet with Balan.

But if she was so proactive now, it wouldn't matter if he said in advance. He disliked the Holy Son's body very much, and only if he succeeded sooner could he leave sooner.

"Will you marry me?"

Although Rothgarr was asking her, he was very certain that she would agree when he said this, and he was even ready to come out of the Holy Son’s body immediately once she agreed.

He thought her expression would certainly be very enjoyable then.

Anna was still stuck in the entanglement of how she should perceive the demon. When she heard him suddenly propose, she was instantly frightened, and she practically didn’t even need to think. "No!"

Then she added: "I can't desecrate you."

Rothgarr thought impatiently, women were really troublesome, saying one thing and wanting the other. She clearly wanted it so bad, but still said no.

He said: "The Vatican won't know."
