Rejected the Demon’s Marriage Proposal Thousands of Times Chapter 28.3

Split Personality (3)

Ulysses didn't care about whether the jewelry and skirts were burned. He asked: "I wouldn’t teach a commoner to read, let alone pursue a commoner woman. What exactly have you done?"

Anna quietly pinched herself and flushed: "I don't know what you are talking about, I didn't do anything at all."

She paused, and before Ulysses made a spectacle of things, she said to herself, puzzled, "When I think about it now, you seemed a bit different then from the current you. Before, you had obviously refused to be my teacher, but later, you took the initiative to find me and said that you wanted to teach me to read. I was so surprised that I didn't think about why."

Ulysses frowned slightly when he heard Anna's words; this matter was too strange.

Anna glanced at Ulysses's face and said cautiously: "Master Ulysses, I have an idea. Would you like to hear it?"

Ulysses nodded, "Speak."

"It’s like this, I have heard people say something called split personality, which is very similar to your current situation. In other words, in your body, there is another person inside you. If you two have a large difference in   personality, they will show up under certain circumstances. And as for the things he does, you won’t know about them; it’s like losing a few days of memory. He might or might not know about the things you do." Anna spewed nonsense very seriously.

She couldn't help it either, okay? She had to give Ulysses an explanation, otherwise he would definitely not let her off. Therefore, she had to craft a split personality explanation to him, which wasn’t too different from reality.

"Split personality?" Ulysses was puzzled; he had never heard of such a thing.

Anna nodded and said solemnly: "What I have heard is that there is a gentleman who is usually very kind and considerate, but when he becomes the other personality, he is a villain who cheats everyone of everything, everywhere. You are a very noble mage, but your other personality is very likely to be completely opposite to yours, so that's why he took the initiative to teach civilians like me to be literate."

In order to prevent Ulysses from making trouble for her, Anna could only mock herself.

Ulysses didn't expect to get such an answer, and for a moment, he didn’t dare to believe it. He couldn't help falling into silence.

Anna continued: "When you burned the jewelry, I thought it was because I was too ignorant of the rules and angered you. Now thinking about it, your other personality is likely a moody person. Just because I said I couldn’t accept such valuable things, he immediately burned them all, and I couldn't have stopped him even if I tried."

Having said that, Anna still felt heartbroken when she thought of the scene at the time.

This was not the answer Ulysses expected, and he couldn't tell if she was speaking the truth. After a moment of silence, he said: "I will come find you again."

After he said this, Ulysses turned around and left, really unwilling to stay any longer.

He could not accept that he had taught a civilian to read when he lost his memory, and even pursued her. If there was another him, he could not accept that the other him had such poor taste.

But Ulysses didn't manage to leave because Parrish had walked over with a smile.

His eyes roamed over Ulysses and Anna, and he smiled and said, "Ulysses, are you also going to visit the Holy Son? I heard that he was badly injured. As a master of the earl estate, I should visit him. You still haven’t told me how you eliminated those invaders last night; how perfect, you and the Holy Son can tell me!"

After he finished speaking, he looked at Anna again. With a bright and charming smile, he said: "my dear Anna, I’ll have to trouble you to go and notify the Holy Son first."

"The esteemed Holy Son is probably resting now." Anna always felt that Parrish would have nothing good up his sleeve if he went, and so she quickly stopped him.

Parrish glanced at the food box Anna was holding and said, "The Holy Son is injured, and shouldn’t skip his meals. You wake him up first to eat, and then we can go. That way, it wouldn’t count as an interruption."

His words were actually logical.

As a mere maid, Anna couldn’t actually prevent Parrish from going, so she left after saluting.

Ulysses hesitated for a moment, but decided to follow and see what would happen.

He heard that he fought side by side with the Holy Son to wipe out the invaders last night; he wanted to hear the details.

So, with Anna in front and Ulysses and Parrish behind, the three of them walked together to the place where the Holy Son now lived.

When Anna arrived, she found that the demon was still asleep. She nudged his shoulder, and the demon opened his eyes almost immediately.

"Esteemed Holy Son, Master Ulysses and Young Master Parrish said they want to visit you, they should be coming soon," Anna said.

At first, Rothgarr didn't want to see those two people, but after thinking about it, he nodded and said, "Help me up."

His head still felt a little uncomfortable, but it was much better than before, and he shouldn’t have a problem holding a light conversation with others.

Anna helped the demon sit up and placed the small table on the bed again. As soon as the food was set on the table, the two of them arrived.

She looked at Parrish and Ulysses, and then at the demon, who was possessing the Holy Son, lying on the bed. It felt weird.

Well, all three people who had been possessed by the demon have gathered together.
