(Rosemary’s POV) The Reincarnated Villainess’s Wish

The suddenly revived memories of Rosemary quietly sprouted within Marie, and like a blooming Rosemary flower, she remembered everything.

“Who would have thought that memories would blossom just because a rope that marked the end for Rosemary grazed her neck?” she mocked, her consciousness strongly embodying Rosemary.

The moment Marie, living as a reincarnation in the present world, recalled the memory of being Rosemary, her consciousness was engulfed in a whirlpool of memories, leaving her in a state of confusion.

The memories of her previous life were incredibly strong in her present existence, and in the early stages of recollection, it felt as though Rosemary had returned, taking hold of her consciousness. It even felt as if the consciousness of Rosemary dominated Marie.

Though her facial features were somewhat plain, Marie Edigma possessed a kind aura that had a comforting effect on people. With a tall stature and a well-built physique, likely from working in the fields, Marie Edigma was undoubtedly the incarnation of Rosemary in the present world.

Her family is blessed with a loving father, the gentle presence of a departed mother, and a caring but somewhat disheveled older brother.

Rosemary once again thanked God that her last wish had come true.

She felt truly fulfilled in this current life, as she was showered with overflowing love and affection from her parents, which she had been deprived of in the past.

Rosemary found solace in living as Marie in the present, without the burden of remembering the past, and being an eternal slumbering entity.

Living as Marie would have been enough for her.

Why did she suddenly recall Rosemary’s memory now?

When Rosemary’s consciousness was strongly awakened, she remembered her younger brother, Reynaldo and her knight, Alberto.

She wanted to convey to the two people, Reynaldo and Alberto, who had supported her more than anyone else, that she had been reborn and was happy now.

She chuckled at the thought that they would surely be surprised if she appeared in Marie’s form.

First, she realized that she needed to find out their whereabouts, so she thought about relying on information that would arrive late from the countryside. However, when she saw Tobias, her father, who visited the room worried about his collapsed daughter, she was brought back to reality.

That’s right.

She was Marie now.

She was not Rosemary.

Rosemary is a person of the past, a lifeless existence already.

The dead should not meet the living.

Strangely enough, she was able to accept reality when she saw her father’s smile in the present moment.

Even though she, as Marie, has obtained happiness in the “present.”

Is it appropriate for the past existence of Rosemary to intervene in the  “present” lives of Reynold and Alberto?

Above all, she must not let the past of Rosemary drag Marie, her present existence, down.

For what purpose did she die and be reborn?

Rosemary suppressed her longing to reunite and made a conscious effort to keep herself as a memory within Marie, as she fell into a deep sleep.

She resolved to peacefully embrace her life as Marie, as she had before she remembered her previous life, never to awaken again.

Because she could intuitively sense that her awakened past self would gradually fade away with time.

However, reality doesn’t always go as planned.

Due to the orders from the royal family, whom she had no fond memories of, Marie went to the capital city and met Alberto and Reynaldo.

Upon seeing Reynaldo and Alberto’s faces when they reunited, Marie’s consciousness as Rosemary was filled with nostalgia. At the same time, she sensed the remorse and desire for revenge hidden beneath their smiles.

Even though she knew she should refrain from taking action, it was frustrating for her to realize that as a mere deceased person living as Marie, she couldn’t do anything.

Still, Marie was able to glean Rosemary’s own thoughts from Rosemary’s memories.

Marie also experienced the peculiar sensation of recognizing each other as separate individuals in the present life and past life, yet feeling a sense of unity between them.

Rosemary, quietly emerging as a consciousness within Marie, couldn’t help but make a wish.

If… If Marie will allow it.

Rosemary wants her to make one unfulfilled wish come true.

The wish to make her loved ones happy, which she desired even in the final moments before her death.

If there was any meaning to the memories of the past life that she inadvertently recalled.

Rosemary thought that it was only to make that wish come true.

“My final wish is for you to be happy in the future.”

As Rosemary faced execution and neared her death, what she remembered was the smiling face of her younger brother, Reynaldo.

Reynaldo, whom she loved so much.

Her beloved brother, who opened his heart to her, was the only family she had ever known.

Just as her younger brother relied on his older sister, Rosemary, who also yearned for family affection, was dependent on Reynaldo.

Even if her fiancé doesn’t love her, her brother loves her.

Even if her father only sees her as a tool, her brother still cherishes and cares for her.

She has a brother who can give her affection, a brother who pours his love upon her.

She wants to reciprocate that affection.

If Reynaldo was unhappy, it was as if Rosemary was unhappy too.

She doesn’t believe such a dependent relationship can continue indefinitely.

Nevertheless, Rosemary could only relieve the pressure of being the future queen and the neglect she experienced from her father and fiancé by being dependent on her younger brother.

If Reynaldo were to become unhappy after Rosemary’s death.

It would be the fault of Rosemary’s continued dependence.

And that sin did exist.

Taking the form of involving a single knight named Alberto in the worst way possible.

Rosemary was surprised that Alberto was trying to get revenge along with Reynaldo.

He had been raised as a knight since birth.

Rosemary has been standing next to him since she was a child and has seen his strong aspirations.

She could not believe that he would use up all his life just for revenge.

If such thoughts were to arise from him, it is possible that Rosemary also inadvertently distorted Alberto’s loyalty as a knight through her dependency on him.

That, too, is Rosemary’s sin.

Rosemary is overwhelmed by regret at the consequences of her own weakness.

She wants to free her brother and Alberto from the ghost of Rosemary.

And she wants them to be happier than anyone else.

She can’t help wishing for that as Rosemary.

The remorseful thoughts of her past life that consume her.

Marie certainly received them.
