Chapter 490 160 - Perserios territory - part 4 - Countering the plan that was thirty years in the making (part 22)

"I sometimes wonder whether mana had messed with your eas or something..."

Geoge sighed, shaking his head, and certainly didn't bother to answer the armored man's shouts.

Although he could not deny a few things that those shouts suggested.

He had a surname like a lower noble, but he certainly wasn't a magician, and he didn't hold himself up as one, as after the scolding he gave to the confused and angry members of the Perserios family he assumed a combat stance that was clearly from some kind of martial arts school.

"My pedigree has little to do with... hold on...? Now that I think about it, aren't you bunch that was supposed to report back to the South-Eastern Claw Tribe to report your mission...? Did the hex have a delay, or did you break away from hexes but completed the mission anyway?"

Without moving forward even an inch, the dark-haired martial artist raised his brow and asked, tilting his head and squinting his eyes to have a better look at the people of the Perserios family in front of him.

...all of whom became paled at the mention of the hex, as finally, their deeds they commit while under the control spells have stirred up the cogs in their minds to start moving...

"What are those idiots doing...?"

Devios watching the scene play out through the open window on the second floor gritted his teeth and his body began shining blue with the water enchantments.

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! YOU CAN TALK WITH HIM HOWEVER LONG YOU WANT AFTER HE IS IN A CELL!"

The blue-haired boy first shot out two water spears aiming at the dark-haired young man and slightly behind him for when he would try to dodge the first one, and roared furiously at his foolish relatives who got into a pointless banter with the enemy.

"?"

George glanced over in the direction the voice was coming from and saw the first water spear, but instead of doing what Devios expected him to, the dark-haired man simply didn't move...

*splash* *stab*

"WHAT...?!"

...and when the water spear reached his body, it simply turned into water that drenched his clothes, while the second spell pierced well into the ground behind the man – which all caused Devios to release a shocking shout.

...which in itself was another attempt of distracting the opponent, as the blue-haired boy immediately activated the water bubble and altered it in a way so its surface reflected the light just the right way to cause whatever and whoever was inside to become invisible for the human eyes.

*splash* *splash* *splash* *splash* *splash* *splash*

On top of that, a torrent of water spears kept shooting at the dark-haired intruder from every direction so that it would be impossible to pinpoint the caster's exact location – unfortunately, every single one of the projectiles boasted the second-best piercing power amongst the commonly used spells, had absolutely no effect aside from drenching the enemy with water...

...which should have been at least annoying, considering the naturally cold climate of the region...

"...you're using water from the environment instead of creating it with mana. That's annoying."

George spoke in a voice that clearly showed how annoyed he was despite trying to keep calm, and he moved just a little bit so that the water would start dripping off of his clothes instead of dousing more fabric.

*splash* *splash* *splash* *splash* *splash*

The provocation was not responded to and instead another series of spears was launched at the dark-haired man, foiling all of his attempts to keep at least some parts of his attire dry.

"...I don't believe that making me angry is in your best intentions, young man... Can't you see your attacks have no effect?"

George gritted his teeth and shook off his arms, spraying water to the sides – which honestly was more of a wake-up call for the other people in the courtyard than anything else.

The next moment dozens upon dozen of various spells from three different attributes – water, wind, and earth – were shot at the drenched opponent.

"TSK...!"

Which made him flinch and click his tongue as he began running away and dodging them all while clicking his tongue and making a furious expression.

"Don't make things harder for me...! I was supposed to only check on this place, there's no need for us to fight! I'm warning you!"

The man being clearly on the losing overpowered side called out angrily as if he still had some sort of advantage despite retreating in a rather desperate way.

"And we just want to talk – after inviting you to our castle's lovely dungeon, sir Geroizen!"

With the cover of the spells being launched and crushing all around causing a lot of noise, Devios called out after deciding that his location could not be pinpointed through all of it.

"It would be interesting to have you show me around, but me obeying orders is required to keep an important person of mine alive – and I was ordered to not get caught or betray the Barariacca nation... that said... LAW OF TAURUS!"

"A what now...?!"

George answered in a deadly-serious voice before suddenly spinning around and twisting his body while agility dodging the oncoming spells and launching himself right back at the group pursuing him after shouting something confusing.

*WHAM* *SCREECH* *CRUNCH*

"GH-URGH?!"

"?!?!??!"

"!!!!!"

The first target turned out to be Devios's older cousin wearing a full set of armor – he was punched square in the chest and the chest plate became indented under the force as the impact sent the man flying while spewing blood through the full helmet's mouthpiece.

*WHAM* *WHAM* *WHAM* *WHAM* *WHAM* *WHAM* *WHAM*

Everyone not using the camouflage of some sort was then treated with the same kind of retaliation.

No matter if they were using the defensive enchantments.

Everyone was sent flying equally damaged – well, not exactly – the ones without armor on didn't even make a sound as their bones shattered into splinters, and if they were hit on the head there was very little that could be done with someone whose brain was elected out of their skull...
