Legolas's eyes literally widened as wide as saucers.

Just the ingenious use of these technological devices that were characteristic of Mechanics already told him the identity of his enemies, it was the timing, abruptness, and effectiveness of the execution that shocked the freaking soul out of him.

Instantly, Legolas felt his brain flash-back to months ago when he was still training Christensen on the important basics of being a Master Summoner.

He taught his student to always be prepared for any situation, he especially warned Christensen not to be too dependent on all his beasts and the beast plane.

He warned Christensen this because he had faced Mechanics in battle.

This warning was a pre-emptive warning for the future though, having witnessed the kind of technological development that Clown had grasp over, he never expected them to be high enough to deploy space-time stabilizers.

He taught his student but he was also not prepared for this scenario, this was because he was so confident that no one in Planet Darvis had these means.

For like 2 seconds after the notification, Legolas froze in shock.

When his short-circuited brain finally recovered, he was alarmed.

Legolas's eyes widened even further in disbelief and dread, facing this kind of situation where he lost control which was extremely important to Summoners, Legolas geared into a serious state unlike he had ever been since his reincarnation.

The time frame was too small though, he could not do anything nor even speak before they arrived, the ambush was too well-timed and planned.

Blade was a pure and highly talented Pugilist with a formidable foundation, but even with his talent, there were some battle means that he had never experienced and one of these was a Space-time stabilizer.

Space-time stabilizers had additional effects on those who experience it for the first time, Legolas was able to cope better against this effect.

As for Blade, he completely lost control over himself.

This was high-grade technology that worked by compressing the pockets in space to such tiny levels that nothing could escape through space. The disconcerting feeling that followed the sudden change rattled this Pugilist.

This was why Blade easily lost control on top the Wind Wolf.

By the time that he could react, the metallic rope already got him.

With incredible momentum, the metallic rope slammed into this Pugilist. It was not randomly launched, apart from instantly tying and immobilizing Blade, this metallic rope cut strategic points through his body with its tiny blades.

Strategic veins in Blade's body were cut, he was not severely injured but through these veins, blood started flowing out of his body like a waterfall.

Blade felt dizzy in less than a minute.

This was just the preliminary attack of the enemies.

Whoosh!

Legolas was alarmed at his student's condition but he still focused up on hearing the wind blow again, this was when he saw the culprit.

A familiar gigantic Mechanic Vulture flew through the skies like an apocalyptic monster, and riding it was a familiar warrior cloth in metallic attire.

Legolas's eyes constricted. "The 6 Ninja Assassins!"

Recognizing them did not matter though, surviving was what mattered.

Legolas' constricted eyes soon focused, he smoothly retrieved his Mithril Bow and aimed at the flying Vulture.

Before Legolas could pull the arrow though, someone else did before him.

Unlike Legolas who simply had a marksmanship passive ability, this enemy was a veteran archer with the Legendary Archer subclass. Her proficiency with the bow and arrow were miles above anything that Legolas could reach.

"Screech…!!!"

The shriek of the 2 Owls barely reverberated when 5 arrows were unleashed at the same time, Legolas was outnumbered and outshot.

He tried to dodge but this time was not fast enough, Predator had to intervene as this Nightmare Beast jumped into the path of the arrows.

With loud sounds accompanied with a lot of force, 2 of the arrows dug into Predator's body. Another one sliced through Legolas's shoulder, while the last 2 impaled the already incapacitated Blade, one on the chest and another on his abdomen as this Pugilist gasped in pain.

Legolas ignored the pain and looked up as his eyes clashed with the cold female killer, the assassin codenamed Owl coldly looked down at him.

Tu! Tu! Tu! Tu!

Legolas still hadn't recovered from these attacks when another came. As soon as the cry of a Crow reverberated in the air, attacks descended.

At the beak of this gigantic crow was mounted an automatic Rifle. As soon as the first 2 attacks connected, the assassin riding the Crow pulled the trigger as kinetic beams shot out of the muzzle of this Rifle at a rapid rate.

Legolas could do nothing else but try to hide behind his beast.

The kinetic beams splattered against Predator's skin with incredible force as this Nightmare Beast roared in pain while its blood was spilled.

Even with Predator's defense, he could not defend against this attack.

Whoosh!

While hiding from the kinetic beams, Legolas could no longer keep full track of the battlefield. He did not know when the assassin codenamed Vulture launched another metallic rope, this time, he could not dodge as he was tied down.

He was barely tied when the ground started vibrating.

Predator ignored his pain as he opened his eyes to look, this Nightmare Beast felt challenged as massive beasts of 3 different species charged towards him.

Leading at the front were 2 massive Buffalos, riding them was the leader of the 6 Ninja Assassins who at this moment aimed with his automatic machine gun.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

He shot and like usual, Predator doggedly defended his master.

While defending against the bullets, Predator could not dodge, the 2 gigantic Buffalos slammed against the Nightmare Beast with their powerful horns as this beast was flung away like a rubber ball while Predator bled heavily.

The Nightmare Beast was already heavily injured.

With Predator flung away, Legolas was exposed.

This was not the end, apart from the 2 Buffalos, 2 other heavier beasts rode from the back. The gigantic Rhino was faster as it charged ahead its counterpart, the gigantic Mammoth was much slower but it was far heavier.

The assassin code-named Mammoth aimed with his lethal Sniper Rifle at the now vulnerable target, without hesitation, he pulled the trigger.

Legolas could not dodge, he had nowhere to dodge to.

BOOM!

The bullet was released with a lethal force that tore space itself.

Legolas was blinded by the light as he closed his eyes, this was when the bullet finally hit. For a moment, he felt like he was hit by a sledgehammer as his brain seemed to have short-circuited.

For a brief moment, Legolas could not distinguish between up and down.

The bullet tore a massive hole through the right side of his chest, his virtual interface lit up even as Legolas felt pain and a crazy burning sensation.

"Ugh…!" Legolas groaned in pain as blood flowed freely from his chest.

In a well calculated ambush and series of immaculate executions by elite assassins, Legolas and his student who were notorious for their strength for months on end already were effectively and efficiently neutralized.

This was Buffalo's masterclass plan.

Like Legolas, this Summoner understood the notion of control to win a battle. From the beginning of this ambush, he was in full control, giving his opponents no time to react and was the main reason for the overwhelming dominance.

Everything that happened from when the Space-time stabilizers were deployed took less than 4 seconds, they achieved all these within this short time frame, this was incredible efficiency only possible by the elite of the elites.

At one side, Blade bled like his body was now a sieve even as he became dizzier by the second, Predator was heavily injured, Legolas was neutralized.

With one powerful stomp, one of the Buffalos finally stopped before Legolas. From on top this massive beast, the assassin's neutral eyes looked down at his target. "I expected you to give me more trouble".

"Hehe…" Legolas chuckled amid gasps of pain.

He ignored the fiery pain at the right side of his chest as he struggled to right himself and look up at this assassin. "I am impressed".

"…" Buffalo nonchalantly looked at this Summoner.

Legolas closed his eyes to ignore the pain then he spoke. "You made perfect use of the Space-time stabilizers, your plan was perfect, your execution was almost perfect but that's not enough to completely neutralize me".

Buffalo raised his eyebrows, not because of Legolas's arrogant words, but because of him calling the Space-time stabilizers by their real name so naturally like he knew them, but no one else was supposed to know them.

He frowned. "How did you know what they are?"

Legolas grinned. "I know everything".

Legolas barely finished speaking before he sprang up on his feet, ignoring the sharp spike of pain that followed from the metallic rope and the hole in his chest.

His eyes gleamed sharply like literal fire was burning inside them the next moment as adrenaline flooded all over his body.

Legolas's fiery eyes gleamed more sharply.

If he was going down, he would go down like Jon Stones, he would go down after giving his all to fight a battle that he would be proud of even in death.
