Chapter 165 Payment

The next day…

Alongside his students, Captain Stokes, General Toothpick, and other hunters of the Hunter Union, the hunters who sacrificed their lives in the raid against the Clown Society were finally laid to rest.

They were all buried in the Hunter Union's official cemetery.

In their black clothes, Legolas and his 2 students watched solemnly as the warriors that they fought alongside were laid to rest.

A White Priest led the proceedings.

After giving prayer to their gods and pleading for them to accept their souls to rest in eternal peace, they were finally lowered into their graves.

Though Legolas only spent a few days with Captain Cinnabar and all the other hunters who fought in the mission with him, he was still human and still developed a bond with all of them during the short time together.

He sighed as he thought. 'In the end, there's always casualties…"

Inside a large enclosed room, Legolas sat alongside his 2 students with Captain Stokes as this hunter Captain questioned Blade curiously.

"How did you do it?" He had a genuinely curious expression on his face.

"One moment, Christensen was going to die and the next you were like boom, this is not even my last form lol".

"Hahaha…" Legolas and Christensen burst into laughter.

Compared to Blade of a week ago, this Blade was much different. After unlocking his hidden power, he changed in literally every way, both physically and psychologically, he was a new warrior.

His hair was now permanently red but thankfully, his eyes were not permanently pitch-black. They only turn that way when he was riled up emotionally, and in that state, the others already learned to avoid him.

If before, his aura was that of a determined youngster hoping to become the greatest Pugilist alive and avenge his parents and his tribe, his aura was now that of a veteran Pugilist who already lived through a thousand battles and developed experience from them all.

Though he would never admit it, even Legolas felt a little intimidated beside his student when his eyes turned pitch-black.

With all the new talents that he unlocked during that battle, Blade became more like the Blade that Legolas was used to in his previous life.

Though he exactly didn't go into the battle with the Skull Necromancer with that intention, of course, Legolas did not shy away from taking the credits.

Afterall, he was the one who promised to make Blade the greatest Pugilist alive. Though he was still far from that, he was getting closer to it.

"So, won't you tell us?" Legolas pressed his student as he laughed.

"Umm…" Blade scratched his head awkwardly. "It happened so fast, I think I unlocked it mostly because of my feeling of helplessness and rage".

He turned slightly emotional. "At one phase of my life, I already lost loved ones due to my inability to get more strength and protect them".

"After I lost my mom, I vowed never to lose a loved one again. At least, I'll try my complete best to make sure that they don't die".

"At that moment, I think it was my desire to not lose my big brother that drove me to awakening my hidden abilities".

The next moment, Blade turned to face his master. "But master, did you know that I had hidden abilities before now? Is that why you took me in?"

"You'll also choose between 1 of the 3 Intermediate Summoner knowledges that are in our collection, and 1 of the 2 Intermediate Pugilist knowledges that are in our collection".

"Also, you have received the recognition of our leader".

"You'll now be recognized as a Master Hunter of the Hunter Union".

General Toothpick smiled. "With this, like you wanted, you'll get our connection. You can use the name of the Hunter Union for most if not all of your future transactions in your journey across the planet".

"Also". The General smiled. "The leader hopes you're open to more mission commissions like this, the Hunter Union have numerous uses for industrious, intelligent, and powerful warriors like you".

Legolas smiled, this was exactly what he wanted. As allies with the Hunter Union, he could make use of their connection to ease a lot of his troubles.

General Toothpick patted his back with a smile.

Though they already expected their leader to handsomely reward Legolas, Christensen, Blade, and Captain Stokes were still shocked by how much.

Legolas was not too shocked because he understood their thought process.

A warrior like him was hard to see across all the continents of Planet Darvis, knowing his worth and his future worth, the leader of the Hunter Union was adamant to ally him to them before the other organizations saw his worth.

Using these rewards to buy his loyalty was a good bargain to them.

After the payment, with a smile on his face, Legolas went outside alongside the others to meet the players who played a key role in the previous battle.

He would take his payment later, he had other priorities now.

On seeing Raining Sword, General Toothpick's eyes gleamed sharply.

He smiled shamelessly as he walked towards the warrior and patted him on the back. "What a strong warrior you are". He laughed.

"I saw your performance in the previous battle, you're a beast man!"

"What do you think about becoming a hunter of the Hunter Union?"

Raining Sword smiled.

Before he could reply, Legolas walked in and put his arms across his shoulders as he looked at General Toothpick with a smile.

"Sorry, but he's already taken".

"Haha". The General laughed and waved the moment off.

Staying with the players, Legolas complimented their efforts in the previous battle. Knowing pro players was the main reason why he recruited them.

Unlike normal players, these guys were really strong and could be his helpers. Raining Sword's performance was a prime example of that.

After chatting with them some more, he exposed his plan to them.

Before doing any other thing, Legolas needed to go to the beast plane.

"I called for Akela's help but he couldn't respond to help me for some reason". Legolas's eyes narrowed. "I feel he is in danger".

"You guys should wait for me here, I will go check on him".

"I'll follow you". Christensen easily decided.

Legolas did not disagree as he got prepared to leave.

The next moment, he did the thing.
