Chapter 41 First Battle Against The Clown Society [1]

"Being a beta player is so nice man, Ghost Sentry has not been taken yet".

Being among the first batch of players who were lucky enough to receive the random beta testing token, this player Ghost Sentry could be regarded as part of the luckiest few thousand on earth since Dominator was already trending.

As soon as his character name and preferences were accepted, the game went white for a few seconds as he was transported into the game world.

After a few seconds, he finally arrived here, and well, he was blown away.

One of the main selling points of the latest VR game Dominator was its realism, it was already hyped a lot but oh boy, they were right.

It was still very early in the morning as the dark of the night receded to allow the rise of the golden sun. At this moment, Ghost Sentry was spawned in an extremely realistic forest region, he literally spotted no unreal elements.

Everything looked and felt so real that it was unbelievable.

Ghost Sentry was completely left star-faced. "This is so real man".

Ghost Sentry was not the only player to spawn in this location. Shortly after he spawned, about a hundred other players also spawned.

As soon as they spawned, the first thing that they did was to of course satisfy their curiosity about observing the world around them. In no time, they were also completely drawn in by the fascinating and realistic world around them.

Not all the players came for sightseeing though.

"Damn, they finally did it!" One of the newly spawned players yelled, startling the others who turned in his direction only to shrink at his actions.

The player with the character name 'Horny Assassin' was excited as he ignored the others and continued his exploration. "They finally did it!"

"I can't believe it, man, I can finally f*cking strip in these VR games!"

"Whooo! Dominator, you da best!"

"Why call it virtual reality when I can't feel my little brother? Damn, the sensations are the same and even slightly more sensual, oh god I want to meet the developer who made this!"

"Haaaa…, this feels nice man!"

As this player fondled his newly discovered pp in public, the other players cringed for a few seconds before ignoring him and continuing with their actions.

All the players received the same beginner Grade F mission as some of them went at it, while others tried to continue exploring the realistic environment.

As for Ghost Sentry, he was part of the former first as he decided to face the beginner mission. Unlike casual players like 'Horny Assassin', Ghost Sentry was a player who actually wanted to make a living from playing games.

His goal was to become a pro player and he banked all his hopes on Dominator. When he got the beta testing token, he was all over the moon.

During the 10 game days of the beta testing which translated to 2 days in the real world, he intended to try his best to understand the game completely and secure an advantage that would give him an edge over other players.

That would increase his chances of attracting and getting a gaming pro club to sign him. For this, he was ready to give his best.

"Nearest village/prefecture, where is it? Come on!"

Ghost Sentry soon went out searching alongside others. Not too long though, he arrived close to what seemed like a secret hideout.

Having watched a lot of fantasy movies, Ghost Sentry reacted like in movies and hid to observe. On observation, this was when he saw a rainbow bridge that seemed to extend into the future.

Instantly, he was excited. "Is that not the rainbow bridge that was depicted in the advert? It's exclusive to Summoners I think, damn, is this a secret mission?"

He looked around. "I definitely need to keep this secret".

Ghost Sentry barely said this before a new message popped up in the global player forum that sent other players into a frenzy.

>Horny Assassin- Holy Sh*t! I just triggered a Grade E mission? F*ck!<

>Mashed Potato Lord- Where? Where? Tell!<

>Horny Assassin- South of the forest, close to a secret hideout, I think…<

As the global forum exclusive to players which spawned in Planet Darvis was sent into a frenzy at a Grade E mission appearing so early in the game, Ghost Sentry now looked at this hideout with a sense of excitement.

"A Grade E mission can be triggered here?"

Instantly, he got his courage as he rushed closer to the rainbow bridge. Once he made contact with it, he also triggered the mission.

[You have triggered emergency Grade E Mission: Help the Good Summoner!]

[Mission Details: A good Summoner has been ambushed by the bad guys, join forces with other players, fight as a team and save the summoner.]

[Mission Rewards: 20,000 Experience points]

Ghost Sentry sucked in a deep breath and was about to get excited before another message popped up in the global forum chat and started trending.

>Horny Assassin- I f*cking died! Those guys are so strong<

Ghost Sentry paused in his steps. "Huh?"

Stuck in the underground hall where dozens of psychopaths of the Clown Society intended to kill him, Legolas grabbed at every opportunity that presented itself before him to escape.

When the beta testing notification appeared, he was surprised and relieved at the same time as he sought for a means to take advantage of it.

It took some time for him to learn the basics even as one of the game developers, but once he did, Legolas did not hesitate to issue a mission to the newly spawned players and he choosed the highest reward to draw their attention.

Even if there was a great deal of danger associated with this sudden mission, being a player once, Legolas knew how tantalizing 20,000 Exp points was at the beginning stages of the game.

As he expected, notifications of dozens of players taking his mission started popping up even as he was still embroiled in a great battle with the psychopaths.

The first player to accept the mission arrived and did not last 2 seconds before being killed. The next came in batches of over a dozen players, others soon followed them and in no time, the hall was filled with players.

Legolas grinned. "This is what I'm talking about!"

Without hesitation, he finally made his move.
