Chapter 923: Testing The Old Man

"Oh? Then if the others are able to withstand my pressure, that means they are better than the kid on the ground there, right?" Kana asked, causing the old man to glare at Kana. He hated how she always had words to say to him!

"A disciple has no right to speak when the elders and the sect master are speaking." The old man said with a snort.

"I give my disciple the right to speak for me. What can you do about it?" Yu Ling spoke up, causing all the other elders to look down. They did not dare get involved in the ongoing feud between those two.

Kana smiled and looked at the old man. "See. Master says I can speak on her behalf, which means I can speak equally with you. But let me ask you this, you are an elder, yet you can't handle my pressure ethier. I am sure there are many more elders who can take your position, are there not?"

The old man almost coughed up blood! He couldn't believe his own words were being turned on to himself. It was true he could not handle her pressure! "We are not talking about me but Chosen Huo Zan!"

"But he was just demoted, so why do you keep calling him Chosen? I think your old age is getting to you. How about this?" Kana turned and looked out at the crowd and shouted: "All chosen, please come up on stage."

No one dared to move. The sect master felt amused by what was going on and said: "Listen to Chosen Kana, and come up on stage."

Reluctantly nine people jumped on stage and stood there. They did not wish to turn out to be like Huo Zan, so they were all nervous. Kana smiled and sent them all a voice transmission: "Don't worry, you will all pass with flying colors."

Her words caused all the chosen to look at Kana in confusion. But they dared not say anything. They only watched as Kana suddenly walked over to where the elders were sitting and reached out her hand to one of the youngest female elders: "You come up to."

Confusion filled the area. But Kana did not care. She was doing this because the person she picked, who was a young woman just like Yu Ling, had high cultivation that she was suppressing. The elder tried to pull her hand back and was about to say something, but when she looked into Kana's eyes, she felt like maybe things would be okay.

"What is your name?" Kana asked.

"Elder Lim…." Elder Lim replied while lowering her head. She had no disciples because no one wanted to become a disciple of a young elder like her. They saw her as inexperienced.

"You stand with the other chosen," Kana said as she turned around and looked at the old man. "You as well. Since we are testing everyone's abilities, we should see who is more suitable for the roles given to them."

"What is this!? Do you think you can just decide things at will!? Sect master, are you just going to allow these things to happen!?" The old man yelled out. He did not dare move from his seat!

"Just go up. What are you afraid of?" The sect master did not want to ruin his friendship with his long time friend, but he felt that if he let things progress, it might actually help the sect in the long run. He knew Kana was powerful. He had felt her power before, so he saw her as a senior. He did find it strange she was entering the sect as a disciple, but everyone has their own intentions.

"You!? Sect master!? Are you really going to allow this!?" The old man yelled out as he stood up, his face red with anger.

"I said go up. Do not make me repeat myself." The sect master replied back in a low voice, but it was enough to make the old man's spine grow cold. He snorted and walked over to the other disciples.

"Mmm, good! Now that all the actors are here, let's see just who is what now, shall we? Sect master, I will now put pressure on everyone in front of me, including you. This is to prove that I am indeed releasing pressure on everyone." Kana said as she turned and looked at the sect master.

"Mmm… Go ahead." The sect master replied.

Kana smiled as she looked at everyone else on the stage, and then….

*Bang!*

A loud sound was heard, causing everyone to turn to look at the old man who was now currently kissing the stage. His entire body was being pushed into it while everyone else only seemed to be slightly affected by it. Kana looked at the old man and raised her hand to her mouth, and gasped: "Oh my! Look at that. You can't even handle this tiny bit of pressure?"

All the elders, the chosens, and everyone who was watching, including the sect master, all stared at the old man who was unable to even move from where he was. No one would think that Kana was exerting more pressure just on the old man than everyone else. "I guess Elder Lim is much better than you. She is still standing strong, and look at how young she is.
