Chapter 1731: Next Competition

Chapter 1731: Next Competition

Brice went through all the information left behind by Sam.

There are techniques, knowledge related to formations, all the research and tricks Sam uncovered with the weaving, weapon blueprints, formation blueprints, inscription techniques, beast rearing techniques, farming techniques, Sam left a lot.

But one thing that caught Brice's attention is the special prosthetic blueprint that Sam let behind.

The prosthetic legs, specially designed to fit Brice's constitution. Sam designed it and let the young man have them so that he could walk and operate like before.

Brice felt a sense of relief and he couldn't help but shed a few tears.

He didn't know how to lead his life without his legs. He had invested way too much into his battle techniques and combat prowess for him to just go on with a life without legs.

But when he looked at the visuals within his mind. The visuals Sam had left for him, made him feel hope again. Even before he could drown in despair, he already got caught in the hope Sam created for him.

He called for his subordinates.

They were a bit taken aback. They could see a faint difference between Brice now and the day before.

"Go back to the capital and bring your families and loved ones along with you. All people who you can entrust your life with. Get them here, from now on this valley is our home."

"Young master, even if he gained victory here, you are not going to be posted. The others will definitely try to steal credit. They are not going to let you take control over the valley."

"The valley is not theirs to decide. It is mine. It is ours. We decide who stays here and I decide that we stay here."

The subordinates are surprised, but they followed his orders just as he said.

Meanwhile, Sam went back to hell. He went back to his floor and started fighting the creatures once more.

He went back into the old routine of fighting and attracting corruption.

Back to the Gods, Hel is relaxing in her realm.

She still couldn't believe that she agreed to Sam's demands. She is a goddess. She controls Hell. There is no way, he should have that kind of control over her.

She knew there are a million reasons to do so. But she felt like all of them are excuses. By no means a mortal should be able to threaten a god. But Sam did that and succeeded.

She shook her head off those thoughts and decided to not mess with the competition anymore.

She is definitely not going to make things even by giving Sam some advantage next time, but she is also not going to make his life difficult anymore.

The other gods were also surprised by the audacity Sam displayed.

Of course, the gods that liked him were more intrigued and impressed than angered. But that day every god got a wake-up call and a warning that Sam shouldn't be disturbed too much.

If Gambler is not there, most of them would have opted to kill Sam directly. That would make their life and the game a lot easier than it is currently.

But the mere presence of Gambler made them remove any thoughts of making it unfair.

Sam didn't know this, but he didn't care much about it as well.

He just spent days hunting the creatures that are manifested from his past.

And as the days passed time for the next competition also came.

In the last one, Sam bagged every single badge there is. He occupied the most area in the valley, he occupied the whole valley, he defeated all the others single-handedly, and he finished the task long before the specified duration.

He met a bunch of hidden requirements winning four badges for hidden achievements on top of the two normal badges for winning.

Not only did he finish the task like it was nothing, he even covered the deficit he had from the first round. As for the other players, they were left far behind, they couldn't help but grimace at the fact

So, everyone is looking forward to the third round.

That included Sam.

He might not be lagging behind them anymore, that doesn't mean he wants to let the gap reduce. He will keep on increasing the gap as the time passes. He will win this round with such absolute results that competing with him shouldn't even cross their minds.

So, he stayed prepared.

At this moment, Sam is sitting in front of the pillar as he refined his body again and again. After a few minutes, he let the energy into the pillar and relaxed. His body felt revitalized.

He took a deep breath as he put all of his focus on his spiritual core. In the middle of his glass-like spirit core, in between all of the elements, there is a new form of energy. It is very small compared to the whole pool of spiritual energy he had there.

But this small bit of energy is much more powerful and much more dangerous than all of that spiritual energy.

It is Divine energy.

The first strand of Divine energy that Sam felt.

He didn't break through of course, but there is a limit to the amount of spiritual energy his body can contain and there is a limit to the physical strength that his body can obtain and tolerate. And in the middle of this process, he managed to hit the limit.

He just finished the seventh floor of the tower. Which is not that much when compared to the sheer size of his tower. But it took him a long time.

In fact, Sam lost his sense of time in the process. He doesn't know how long exactly has it been. But he is sure it must have been over three to four months.

He didn't know exactly how long. But at one point he stopped caring.

He managed to gain the first strand of Divine energy in the process and he kept on refining it along with refining his body with corruption energy. It became purer by the day.

As he is exploring this Divine Energy, he felt the familiar suction force pulling him away.

He appeared in the familiar space. The empty space where Hel always explains the competition.

The players looked at Sam as he appeared in his seating position. His upper body is bare. He looked peaceful and seemed to be in perfect condition.

Other players wanted to talk with him. They still couldn't forget the nightmare Sam created in the previous round.

But Hel didn't give them a chance.

"Hello, Players.

Now time for the third round.

And since last time, one of you has behaved a bit out of hand. It seems like you players are forgetting your place. You are mortals that we picked to play around with. You are nothing more than playthings, toys and you shouldn't have any pride or ego to challenge and demand us.

But one of you crossed that line.

So, now all of you are going to suffer. Since there have been complaints about the game being unfair. I will fairly punish every one of you.

The competition this time is pretty simple.

All of you will be thrown into different arenas. You will be gladiators there. Each arena will be spectated by a dozen or so Divine Plane Cultivators that are on verge of becoming gods. We called them Demi-Gods.

These Demi-Gods are way too powerful. They can kill you in a snap if they want to.

But thanks to my kindness I didn't allow it.

Instead, they will be sending their faithful soldiers to fight with you.

Your job is to take one fight after another in whatever order they decide.

The only thing is the difficulty of your second enemy will depend on how good you are in your first fight.

By default, the difficulty of the next fight will increase by 10 percent. But the extra difficulty will be added based on how you do in your previous fight.

For example, if you are almost unscathed in the first fight and be in 98 percent of your top condition, the next fight which is normally more difficult, to begin with will increase its difficulty by 9.8 percent.

So, the next fight's difficulty will be set with an extra 19.8 percent difficulty.

If you come out unscathed in a fight, your next fight will be set at 20 percent increased difficulty.

You will fight until you cannot fight anymore. And the difficulty will keep on compounding just like that.

Of course, the person with the most wins is going to be the winner and this time, only one of you is going to get a badge and only one badge at that.

The demigods will be witnessing and also arranging their own subordinates. They get to talk to you and place bets on you, but they won't be able to do anything directly to you.

But in their eyes, you are nothing but a slave, a gladiator that is fighting for their amusement. A toy. So, expect the treatment a toy deserves.
