Chapter 228 Little Mandron Soldier 51

The entire court was silent as He Yuan and the Marshals arrived at an impasse. Neither side was willing to give in. After a while, the Sixth Marshal smiled. Thinking about it more carefully, there was truly nothing to he scared of.

Yang Xue was ultimately a mandron, no? What exactly did he know? In fact giving him his own special division wasn't necessarily a bad idea neither did it mean that he would get that much power. If they created a division entirely of mandrons, who could fault them?

Besides, there was no telling the particular amount of mandrons that would enlist in the military. It could be 1... it could be 1000. The bill was relatively new so the mandrons wouldn't be flocking over to the Twelve-army Coalition like bees to flowers.

If Yang Xue was placed in charge of all the mandrons, then that would be killing two birds with one stone. One; the other armies wouldn't have to deal with the liabilities that were mandrons and two, Yang Xue would be satisfied.

She had the urge to laugh. The mandron might think he was getting a bargain but what could an army of mandrons amount to? Yang Xue might have killed Xor queen once but that was a fluke, mandrons were still, undisputably, the weakest of all species. Their army would definitely be, more or less, a mistake just waiting to happen.

The other Marshals all arrived at the same conclusion as the Sixth Marshal one by one. The Second Marshal eyed He Yuan and shook his head in disappointment. These past weeks, he'd harbored the misconception that this mandron was different but it turns out...

Just like other mandrons, he still took everything at surface value. If he'd fought for a Olatoon of human and andronian soldiers, that would've at least meant something even if a Platoon was much, much, smaller than a Special division but with an army of mandrons... Tsk.

With the Third Marshal out of the way, he'd been looking to partnership with other Marshals but things were so bleak. Especially with the below-the-table struggle that was going on between all of them as each person wanted to grab a piece of the pie that was the Third army.

At this moment, he'd never been happier that Jin Qi was part of Ding Weimin's Special forces division back at the Third army. Unlike the other Marshals who were just sending in their people, Jin Qi already had a headstart and was already bringing other officials of the Third army to her side.

The only setback at the moment was her engagement to Ding Weimin. Well not for long...

The Marshals quickly exchanged eye contact with each other before the First Marshal cleared his throat. "Since Mr. Yang is willing, the Special training division for mandrons would be made into a Special division of the Third army itself made up of mandrons. Although....

The audience keenly listened as he continued, "This Special division would be probationary and would depend entirely on Mr. Yang's ability. If the recruited mandrons turn out subpar after an initial period of 2 years, then we would have no choice but to disband the Division!"

The Marshals all nodded in agreement. They were very satisfied with the First Marshal's verdict.

He Yuan, on the other hand, had a thoughtful expression. Truthfully, he was aware of the strengths and limitations of mandrons and knew clearly that an army of mandrons would be a total flop. Yang Xue could try all he wanted but mandrons were genetically disadvantaged.

They appeared to have lost the battle right at the starting point but...

His end goal wasn't actually an army of overpowered mandrons. The entire reason he wanted this Division was to give the mandrons a chance. A starting point. An army of mandrons might be a flop but if they were properly incorporated into the Twelve-army Coalition as a support system then they were as valuable as gold.

As for who would handle these mandrons.... Yang Xue, of course. He was He Yuan and he didn't have the impediment that mandrons naturally had so he couldn't properly train them. Yang Xue was a different issue. To achieve the same position as the other two species, he was aware that mandrons had to work twice as hard. This was shitty, yes, but it was the reality of life in the Plexar Federation.

Maybe it would change as the years went by but at the moment, Yang Xue needed all the merits he could acquire if he was wanted to ever achieve his dream of becoming a general and that was why He Yuan had no hesitation when he demanded the Special division.

He Yuan nodded at the First Marshal and casually slipped in, "If the recruits are qualified then they should be spread out into the other armies, no?"

The First Marshal had an imperceptible smile on his face. 'If the recruits are qualified then....' Ha! Well he didn't believe the mandrons would become qualified enough to get into an army of humans and andronians so he nodded.

"Sure." As an afterthought, he added, "Also, the Twelve-army Coalition would become fully involved in the research on your genetic mutation. You are originally a soldier of the Third army and that wouldn't change.

-So specialists would be sent over there once you return. The P.R Institute could also send their specialists over there."

He Yuan calmly nodded. This was the main reason they were trying to cater to Yang Xue anyways. They were not yet aware that it was impossible to replicate the mutation in Yang Xue's genes but that had nothing to do with him. He would take whatever benefit he could now that they were unaware. It would be impossible for them to take it back when they realized anyways.

Just thinking if how pissed they would feel later uplifted his mood.

The First Marshal smiled. "In a week, your reenlistment in the Third army would be sorted out and an award ceremony would be held. You would be expected to report to your base immediately after."

At that moment, He Yuan felt a slight ripple from Yang Xue's soul thread. He stiffened. The soul thread of Yang Xue was generally docile, barely having a reaction to anything. Until now. This just showed what was truly important to the leaser. Not revenge, not recognition, but the opportunity to live out his dreams.

He Yuan's lips arched at the corner as he nodded firmly at the First Marshal.

The bailiff stood to his feet. "COURT DISMISSED!"

He Yuan watched as the people uniformly filed out of the hall. He wasn't in a hurry to leave knowing fully well that a legion of reporters would be waiting for him outside. He had nothing to say to them.

Special one No.1 had been effectively taken care of. All he had to focus on was Jin Qi and he already had an idea. He was returning to the Third army. Jin Qi was also part of the Third army. He wasn't planning on wasting any time. After all, accidents were normal during missions...

With the end of the Marshal court session, the Federation Network was heated up once more.

Out of all the news articles, the last one gathered the most wave. A lot of people were already expecting Ding Weimin's sentence so it wasn't too shocking.

A mandron getting such achievements and getting his own Division was most definitely shocking and even more shocking was the confirmation that he had actually killed the Xor queen but when placed against the news of a MARSHAL being dishonourably discharged.....!!!

The Federation Network was still raging when the Jin Qi silently released a piece of news on the Network.

[[Good day everyone. With the recent events, I feel I don't need to say much. I would be calling off my engagement with Ex-General, Ding Weimin. This is after much thought and consideration and it appears that contrary to my earlier belief, the feelings between me and Ding Weimin had been entirely one sided from my part.

-He clearly likes a different person better and I am not one to force my feelings on another. More importantly, I am deeply ahsamed and disappointed to find out that the man I had admired for his impeccable morals and integrity as a soldier would turn out to be....

-Anyways, I deeply apologize to everyone who had offered their support and were looking forward to the joining of the Ding and Jin families but, alas, Some things just aren't meant to be...]]

People were quick to pick up on this news and rushed forward to offer their support to Jin Qi. Everything that had happened was clear for all to see so no one dared to fault her. In fact, they were all more interested in heaping insults on the scum man, Ding Weimin.

In the Ding mansion...

Ding Wang had finally managed to calm Xia Yueyu down and simply left the living room when a servant, who was serving calming tea, showed her the news released by Jin Qi.

SMASH!

The polished porcelain cup directly fell from Xia Yueyu's hands and splashed hot tea on the helm of her dress but she was too shocked to care. Jin Qi had broken off the engagement? Why? Ding Weimin had only made a slight mistake and he was going to be released soon....

Her husband told her just now, once her Weimin was released, he could return to the army and everything would go back to normal! Why would Jin Qi break up the engagement?!

Xia Yueyu quickly lowered her head and sent a communication request to Jin Qi. Immediately it was accepted she hurriedly spoke, "A'Qi tell me the truth, did Marshal Jin force you?!

-You don't have to worry. Min'er wouldn't be gone for long and after, the both of you can be happy together. I already told you not to listen to the words of others. They are only trying to sabotage you and Min'er!"

Jin Qi eyed the woman on her screen with a disgusted sneer. What a fool. Very different form the Madam Ding that she had met all those years ago. This person had pale skin with swollen eyes and had lost so much weight in such a short time. She also seemed to have aged drastically and had wrinkles here and there.

Xia Yueyu was only 65. Still too young by the Federation's standards to be wrinkled. Jin Qi kissed her teeth. Just why had she involved herself with this unlucky family in the first place? What had been so good about Ding Weimin?

She glared at Xia Yueyu. "Madam Ding. It would be best if you never contacted me to say such rubbish anymore. Your son is so useless and you expect me to remain with him? Are you a fool? You're too old for this nonsense and I suggest you get yourself checked!"

Xia Yueyu's eyes widened in horror the second Jin Qi ended the communication. What just happened? Who was that fierce looking beast just now? The Jin Qi she knew would never speak to her so rudely. Jin Qi was sweet and talented and nice and well mannered. That person just now...

She raised her head and when she caught sight of her reflection on the shiny surface of a silver vase, she froze. Who was that? She slowly walked over to her own reflection. When did she become like this? When did her family become like this?

Her father-in-law was gone, her Weimin was gone and she could barely recognize her own husband. His behaviour towards her had been a complete 360 now that she thought about it.

What went wrong?

At last, Xia Yueyu slowly crumbled to her feet and broke down in tears whilst the servant watched her in pity.

Over on Planet Crest...

Jin Qi's bracelet pinged with a message. She was still pissed from Xia Yueyu's expectations of her so she directly opened the message and immediately after, she regretted. It was from her older brother.

[[Ah, sweet little sister. What happened to your undying love and loyalty, hm? You already knew of the relationship between 'Your Wemin' and that mandron and yet you had adamantly held on. Why use it as an excuse to leave now? Tired of holding on? Can't bare the shame? Tsk. So fickle....]]

BAM!

Jin Qi slammed her palms against her desk in anger. YANG XUE! Yes, she blamed Yang Xue. If it weren't for him, would Jin Yusheng have something to mock her about now?!

She had initially planned to just ignore the mandron and focus on gaining more allies in the Third army but now that he was returning and getting his own Division too, she felt uneasy. She had learnt not to understimate that bastard mandron.

He had been so silent initially and look where Ding Weimin was now. She absolutely did not believe that he wouldn't get revenge on her for her act back at the Xor queen's cave so she must act first!

------------------------------------

A week later, Yang Xue's award ceremony was held and he was awarded his rightful merits and medal. He Yuan had chosen to keep the occasion private.

Two hours after, he was at the Spaceship dock getting ready for his flight to the Third army base, Planet Crest.

He was just about to pass the inspection area when,

"Xue'er~"

He Yuan turned around and came face to face with a radiant looking Wei Xiaoqing.
