Chapter 218 Little Mandron Soldier 41

The Ding family might be an influential military family but they had already reported the case to the Fed police and sent in the evidence. Even if they decide to withdraw their charges, the Government as a whole would never let the drug issue just slide down their backs.

The Dings could play all manner of tricks in the Third army but the Fed police was under the Government itself and they had very little influence there. Such a low level promise would only work on desperate fools like Yang Zhi.

As for Yang Xiang... He Yuan resisted the urge to laugh. He might not know Jin Yusheng but from the little that he'd seen, the man did not strike him as someone who would just call back a law suit last minute because of a few words from a 'soon to be in-law.'

Watching Yang Xue laugh, Yang Xiang's lips thinned and Yang Zhi finally stood up. "Yang Xue! Do not forget whose child you are! If not for m-"

He didn't get to finish as two security men walked into the office then. Manager Liang nodded at them. "Just in time." Then she looked to Yang Zhi. "Your presence here seems to be unwanted so I would not have to cause a ruckus in my office." Her eyes moved to the security men once more. "Show them the way out."

Yang Xiang's eyes widened but after taking another look at Yang Xue, she slowly lowered her head and let out a bitter chuckle.

What was the use? She had no idea when but Yang Xue had gone from being the mandron that silently let them treat him however they pleased to what he was now -an unyeilding mandron immune to manipulation.

So what really was the use of all this? For her crime, she would get a maximum of 3 to 5 years. Much better than her father and Yang Liqin and a thousand times better than Yang Liu who was now mentally disabled. As for Yang Teng... Just thinking about him made her blood boil in rage but... what could she do?

He was probably with President at the moment. As for her... Yang Xiang suddenly lifted her head and burst into laughter. She regretted. She regretted it deeply. She'd gone through a tortourus night with Director Hong in order to get the sex tape of Jin Yusheng and Yang Teng but what did she get in the end?

Her own much more explicit sex tape uploaded to the Network and an impending jail sentence. All for what? Was it really worth it? In fact, was her idolization of Jin Yusheng all these years worth it?

Yes, Jin Yusheng was one of the most amazing people she'd met but so what? She'd met a lot of other amazing people too so why did she become so fixated on the one that did not want her? What was so special about him?

Yang Xiang squeezed her eyes shut and the next time she opened it, she rapidly blinked back tears. Yang Xue was right.. She really was a fool. She swallowed. "Yang Xue-" Then she shook her head. "Nevermind." And then she slowly walked out of the room on her own.

The security men turned to Yang Zhi.

Yang Zhi ignored them and turned to He Yuan. "You're really going to treat your own father this way?! Ha. Giving birth to a dog wou-"

The man didn't get to finish his sentence as one of the security men clamped a hand over his mouth and effortlessly dragged him out with the aid of his partner.

Outside the door, only one Fed police officer was left as the other had followed after Yang Xiang. The two of them had no idea of the events that had gone on in the office as the room was soundproofed but looking at the way Yang Zhi was being dragged, it wasn't hard to guess that he had gone to make trouble.

The officer scoffed in disgust as he led the way with the security men dragging Yang Zhi behind him.

Back at the office, He Yuan merely nodded at Manager Liang before walking out.

Later that night, Xia Yueyu received feedback from Yang Zhi and blew a fuse. Time was running out. They had just a week and two days left before Ding Weimin's one month was up and then he would either gradually become paralyzed without the extraction or become completely paralyzed if the extraction was later carried out.

"What do we do?!" She finally cried out at her husband.

Ding Wang ran a hand over his face. "Why don't we just...." He smiled bitterly. "Give him what he wants?"

Xia Yueyu frowned. "You want us to tell the world that Min'er and Yang Xue had indeed been together and we'd wrongly accused him? No!"

Ding Wang pinned her with a cold glare. "Weimin is going to be paralyzed soon and you're still caring about face?!" When Xia Yueyu flinched, he lightened his tone. "Just let him have what he wants and help out first okay? Weimin is still the most important."

Xia Yueyu's eyes reddened. "Sh- should we tell Min'er first?"

Ding Wang frowned. "For what? It's not like he's going to get back with the mandron so what's the use? For now, I'll send people out to plant ideas in the minds of the people and begin a rally for Ding Weimin. Give it a day or two and when it's at an all time high, we would hold a conference.

Xia Yueyu slowly nodded.

-----------------------------

He Yuan had been right. It took three days for the results of the blood examination to be out and the P.R Institute sent out invites to all Twelve Marshals, prominent figures and representatives from the Government to show up at a press conference for the declaration of the results.

The entire Plexar Federation had been waiting with bated breath to know if Yang Xue's genetic mutation was indeed real so this was a way to clear their doubts before further research is carried out on the replication as that would take a longer time.

The press conference was scheduled for that very afternoon and minutes before it began, the Twelve Marshals, Government representatives and top figures began to arrive one after the other.

The podium was set in a large semicircle with twelve high chairs placed for each of the Twelve Marshals, ten for House of Rep Representatives from both Earth and Andron and another Five for a few key figures in the Federation.

At the very centre of the podium was a large metal tube. It was impossible to know what was contained in it and beside the tube was a high chair.

Directly below the podium were twenty chairs prepared for the reporters who were fortunate enough to be given an invite to the event and below that were about 50 seats that was supposedly for the general public but was taken up by mostly elites too.

Xia Yueyu, Ding Wang and Jin Qi were at the forefront of these set of people.

Jin Qi's eyes roamed over to her grandfather seated next to the Third Marshal before looking down once more. At the moment, things were a little bit of a rollercoaster.

She'd been to the Ding estate a few times but Ding Weimin's reinforced room had been closed off to everyone after the incident with that Yang girl. She'd also tried to gleam some information about the Ding family dealings with Yang Xue but Mr. And Mrs. Ding were so tight lipped about it.

Xia Yueyu instead spent all the time praising her for sticking to Ding Weimin in this tough time. Like she had a choice. Tsk.

Her grandfather also said the same thing about the Third Marshal. He too was tight lipped about the dealings with Yang Xue. The only noteworthy thing going in at the moment was the small rally groups that were going around here and there, demanding that the Government and the Twelve-army Coalition 'coax' Yang Xue into aiding Ding Weimin.

At the moment, the protesters weren't even making any big waves. The overall situation made Jin Qi feel very impatient. She didn't want to come out of all this with a loss in the end.

After a while, Xia Yueyu turned to Jin Qi with a smile. Jin Qi had returned from the army a week ago just for Ding Weimin's sake but lately, Weimin had been unusually testy and refused to see anyone. Including his fiance, Jin Qi!

Xia Yueyu felt for the poor girl but still admired her greatly. Only a mature and understanding young woman like this was deserving of her son.

She reached out a hand to grab Jin Qi's own. "A'Qi, don't worry too much alright? After today, Min'er would be fine and the two of you can enjoy your relationship once more."

Jin Qi frowned slightly. After today? She wet her lips with her tongue. "What's happening today?"

Xia Yueyu smiled. "You'll see." And then she paused with a frown. What would Jin Qi think of Weimin if she finally says the truth? She leaned closer. "Listen here A'Qi. Min'er is human and makes mistakes too. He might have made some mistakes in the past but I hope you would be able to look past that.

-He genuinely cares about you and it would absolutely break our hearts if the relationship between the two of you is ruined because of a small mistake."

Jin Qu raised a brow. What really was the situation? In the end, she let out a dry smile and slowly turned her attention back to the podium.

He Yuan was the last to arrive. Dressed in a pristine black suit and with his hair combed back to reveal Yang Xue's breathtaking face and soul sucking eyes, he was ushered into the large hall by Manager Liang.

Xia Yueyu clenched her fists the moment Yang Xue appeared. Just seeing him and knowing he was the reason her son was still in pain made her blood boil. Not to talk of how she and her husband were currently being forced to damage her son's reputation because of him. Mandrons were truly nothing good!
