Chapter 161 I Became The Top Cultivator With My Harem Of Beauties Beside Me 34

Every cultivator stared with shining eyes, especially the older ones. Family head Huo had said what was on their minds. This was a divine level cultivation method they were talking about here. Divine level! A lot of them had been stuck at one spot in their cultivation for decades -centuries even.

The amount of enlightenment that could be received from such a divine level item would be mind blowing! Some of them could even ascend! They all wanted it for themselves. Who didn't want to completely master the Dao?

Mo Jiu held Huoyan tightly as he glared at all the cultivators. These fools! Even if he had such an item, did they think he would hand it over so easily? Was he such a stupid person? He eyed He Yuan dangerously before turning once more to address the crowd. "There is no such cultivation manual. Mo Sheng is clearly messing with you!"

Ru Lianfeng cheered in his mind. Good! This was his Duoluo sect disciple. Such a precious cultivation manual should exclusively belong to the Duoluo sect. It was good that Mo Jiu was putting them off this way. He looked at the Huo family head. "You've heard it. There is no such cultivation manual.

-Mo Sheng was just spouting rubbish because he was hurt that his shidi chose to defend the righteous path over him earlier." He turned to He Yuan. "Your shidi did the right thing by defending the righteous path first.

-As righteous cultivators, the righteous path comes before all else. You shouldn't run your mouth so freely out of spite!"

He Yuan raised a brow. "You just said the righteous path comes before all else. As a righteous cultivator, I am playing my part by making sure that such a precious treasure is rightfully handed over to the Bureau so that it would be made available to everyone.

-We all share the same goals and that is the pursuit of the Dao. Shouldn't we help each other? Is it wrong to do the right thing?"

An older cultivator stood up and nodded at He Yuan. "Junior Sheng, you're not wrong. You're not wrong at all!" He said. "Such a thing should indeed be handed over to the Bureau!"

"Yes! The Bureau!" A younger cultivator shouted and everyone began clamoring once more.

Ru Lianfeng grit his teeth. Mo Sheng! What was wrong with him?! How could he lack so much tact? As a Duoluo sect disciple, wouldn't the right thing be for Mo Sheng to come to him, the sect master, with such an information? What was he doing trying to sound righteous and mouthing off in front of so many people?

Ru Lianfeng stood straighter and enhanced his aura with his spiritual energy. He might not be as powerful as elder Mo, but he was still powerful in the peak stage of Dao seeking. "What exactly are you all trying to do?

-Openly go against the Duoluo sect because of a bunch of words? Even the Bureau would not condone such unreasonable actions! My Duoluo sect disciple has already told you that there is no such manual. Leave it at that! Now don't hold us back any longer."

With that, Ru Lianfeng turned to leave with his elders and Mo Jiu behind him.

The cultivators all watched as Ru Lianfeng and the rest left the arena with Mo Jiu and they grit their teeth. They truly couldn't go against the Duoluo sect so openly. And even if they did, not in the presence of other cultivators because whoever managed to take possession of the manual would automatically become the target of everyone else.

The arena fell silent as each cultivator plotted in their minds. The Duoluo sect could use their position as one of the top sects to cover up now but they would not be able to protect Mo Jiu forever. Mo Jiu could be cornered away from prying eyes and another person could take possession of the manual.

Although they all used the Bureau as an excuse, no one really wanted to hand it over to the Bureau. Why should they?

Xing Mei rushed out of the arena. So did a lot of Mo Jiu's harem members including Shen Mianmian and unsurprisingly, her father. He Yuan scoffed. He was pretty sure Shen Hei was out to look for a way to convince his daughter to coax the treasure out of Mo Jiu in whichever way possible.

The elderly host of the tournament stepped forward and ended the battle for the day. The remaining battles were scheduled for three days later so the cultivators began shuffling out of the arena. Eager to share the news with their other companions.

He Yuan calmly changed to his human form and put on his robes. Next he walked away with Gu Long following after. He needed to get new weapons for his battle in three days and also for the secret dimension.

It appeared that Mo Jiu's luck was still working for him so something had to be done to the Dao ancestor's inheritance before Mo Jiu somehow laid his hands on it.

Gu Long kept glancing at He Yuan at short intervals. He still could not believe that Mo Sheng had defeated Mo Jiu. Even if it was mostly due to Mo Jiu being distracted, It was still surreal and words could not explain the amount of relief he felt in his heart.

"By the way." He Yuan paused and looked to Gu Long beside him. "Thank you for speaking up for me."

Gu Long lowered his head to hide his blush. "You didn't do anything wrong, there's no need to thank me."

He Yuan suddenly smirked. "What if I did? What if I had indeed refined a demonic cultivator and used an ancient method to cover it up, hm?"

Gu Long stared up at He Yuan with wide eyes and then he narrowed his eyes. "Liar. I've been in this sect since I was seven and I've known you since then. You're a good person, even when other disciples talk down on you, you never retaliated and when Mo Jiu and Shen Mianmian had... You know. You didn't harm either of them."

He Yuan chuckled. "Who knows? I was just waiting for the right time to take revenge."

Gu Long shook his head. "It still wouldn't matter. By the way..." He looked up at He Yuan, looked down with a blush, cleared his throat and looked up once more. "Would you let me see your demon form some other time?"

He Yuan's brows raised. Gu Long liked Mo Sheng's demon form? This was good. "Okay, but after my journey into the secret dimension." By then, he would have finished his task and Mo Sheng could return. Then Mo Sheng would be the one to show him.

Mo Sheng was too reserved so the leaser could start from there to pursue the man he liked. He Yuan wanted to pat himself on his back. Look at him being a good wingman for his leasers. He deserved a good payment after this task!

"En." Gu Long answered with a small smile.

By now, the arena had been emptied out so the both of then continued on their way. As soon as they stepped out of the arena, they ran into someone.

Ru Cheng.

Ru Cheng nodded at Gu Long before turning to He Yuan. "Disciple Sheng, can I have a word with you?"

He Yuan raised a brow. He'd always been curious about the reason Ru Cheng showed up earlier than usual but he decided not to pursue it since it did not directly concern his task in any way. He looked at Gu Long. "I'll meet you at the inn."

Gu Long hesitated for a bit before nodding and leaving. Only turning to look back once.

"Alright, speak up." He Yuan said to Ru Cheng.

Ru Cheng locked eyes with He Yuan. It wasn't his style to beat around the bush so he said, "You've been reborn?"

He Yuan schooled his expression to remain neutral but inside, he was surprised. This task realm was full of surprises wasn't it? Ru Cheng had been reborn? Then why did he come back earlier? To reunite with his love? "Why do you ask?" He didn't have enough information so he had to handle this in a roundabout way.

Ru Cheng scoffed. "No need to feign innocence with me. You are clearly aware that you died at the arena in your past life. My question is how did you find out about Mo Jiu's cultivation method?"

He was very sure that this Mo Sheng was aware that Mo Jiu practiced evil cultivation and had just said those words about divine level cultivation manual to throw Mo Jiu off his tracks. The thing was, how did he find out?

If he was aware of it in his past life then he would have called Mo Jiu out on it just like he did in the arena earlier but he didn't. Which meant that he was clueless. So how exactly did he find out? Wait. Could it be that... Mo Sheng had ended up as a wandering ghost in their past life and had followed Mo Jiu everywhere in order to revenge?

If so, was he aware that he, Ru Cheng, had used Mo Jiu's evil cultivation manual to create a formation that killed thousands? Was this Mo Sheng going to be a threat to him?

He Yuan's ears perked. Something was up with Mo Jiu's cultivation method? No way. Don't tell him his casual words were indeed the truth and Mo Jiu truly had a divine level cultivation manual?!

He needed more information. This Ru Cheng was part of Mo Jiu's harem so he could use vague words to get the information he needed. "Why do you need to know how I found out?

-Shouldn't you be more concerned about the chaos that had happened?" He was referring to Mo Jiu starting the war between the righteous and demonic factions by accusing Mo Sheng wrongly.

Ru Cheng grit his teeth. He was very sure now that this Mo Sheng had been a wandering ghost! How else would Mo Sheng know about the chaos he'd caused with the formation? "It wasn't my fault! If they didn't all hog Mo Jiu to themselves then I would never have used the formation!"

He Yuan's left eye twitched. What formation? This Ru Cheng seemed to have done something bad, look at how agitated and unstable he looked. He Yuan shook his head. "Well that doesn't change a thing now does it?"

Ru Cheng clenched his fists. "No. But I'm sure that's the reason I was given a second chance. You too. We were both treated unfairly so the heavens looked down on us in pity.

-We were meant to change our fates with this chance. You have succeeded in averting your death so it's left for me to succeed in keeping Mo Jiu by my side.

-The reason I wanted to talk to you is to ensure you keep Mo Jiu's evil cultivation method a secret. I would lock him tightly by my side and ensure he does no harm!"

He Yuan froze. He didn't hear wrong right? Evil cultivation? Mo Jiu was practicing an evil cultivation method?! What a hypocrite! He had accused Mo Sheng of using dark arts when he was the person using dark arts.

To think that the hypocrite had said all that high sounding words about justice and defending the righteous path when there was no one more unrighteous than he was!

He Yuan was furious but he soon calmed down. Anyways he'd finished his job on Mo Jiu. He only needed to keep the inheritance from him and all would be fine. Whether Mo Jiu practiced the righteous or evil path, it had nothing to do with him.

As much as he wanted to go out there and look for a way to inform the world, he couldn't. Mo Jiu's luck hadn't drained completely and it was possible for him to escape and mysteriously find an evil faction headquarters and become the leader there.

Next thing you know, Mo Jiu would absorb some kind of evil cultivator ancestor's inheritance and begin the quest to take over the world once more. This time he wouldn't name his quest unification but revenge. He would say high sounding words about taking revenge on the people who betrayed him and tried to kill him.

He Yuan folded his arms across his chest and narrowed his eyes at Ru Cheng. With Ru Cheng's words, it seemed he didn't have a good ending by Mo Jiu's side yet he was still trying to dive into Mo Jiu's life, head first, after he had been given a second chance.

The man looked normal but there was this wild look in his eyes that couldn't be hidden. Fine then, He Yuan scoffed. He would let the crazy handle the crazy. He just needed to finish his task so he said. "Sure, I'll keep Mo Jiu's evil ways a secret but for a price."

Ru Cheng straightened. "Name it."

He Yuan smirked. It was good to say that the Duoluo sect's coffers would never remain the same after he received his payment.
