Kali's voice trembled as she saw the man in black strangling the guy who led them here. She looked at Kalaini and both started panicking, "this wasn't supposed to happen!" Kalaini's eyes widened as she covered her mouth.

The man turned to girls and started running towards them, taking his sword out from his robe, he was ready to fight them. "Run!" Kalaini yelled out.

Kali nodded and ran south while Kalani ran west.

They reached a small path leading up north. It was dark outside with only moonlight showing through the trees.

"Kalaini, what is happening?" Kali's heart was beating faster, making her head boil with pressure.

"Sssh..." Whispered Kalaini as she pointed at someone, "we lost him, I hope so..." She closed her eyes for a second.

A guard patrol passed by them but they ignored him. There were guards patrolling on top of the wall and looking down on the ground below.

"Please, don't worry just yet," Kalini spoke softly and looked through her right shoulder. But it didn't do much good because they still didn't know where that man went or how he got there.

The two girls ran across the fortifications and climbed up the stairs. They arrived in a large courtyard with statues lining the walls and another set of gates. Some soldiers were walking around minding their own business, unaware that anyone was watching them.

A guard patrolled the area, his helmet tucked under one arm as he walked about. He glanced at the girls; then back at the wall. He saw someone climbing over and hurrying away from sight, keeping watch.

The guard continued his rounds, oblivious to what just happened.

"Don't worry," says Kalaini. "I'll stay here."

She pointed to a small statue near the gate.

"If anyone comes, I will fight for you."

Kali nodded gently.

"Take this. If you have to flee, use it as a distraction."

Kalaini looked at the cloak.

"Thank you. But why would I need it?"

"Just take it. Someone might be suspicious if you don't."

"Okay," Kali said. She put on the cloak and smiled, "I don't know what exactly is going on here, but I hope we will get out of this situation."

"Don't worry, we always do," Kalaini smirked. "Now we're ready to go." She added.

Suddenly, three figures appeared behind them. One of them wore black clothes and carried a dagger. The other two look like they came from the same mould.

The man in black started moving forward, strangling one of the men that were with him.

"Hey!" yelled Kali. "Put that down! Let him go!"

The man in black stopped strangling the other guy and turned to face her.

He sneered, revealing his teeth.

"What? You want me to let him go?"

Kali nodded.

The man grinned wickedly. "Then you come with us!"

Kalaini ran at the man in black and swung her sword at his neck. The man in black grabbed the blade and held it in place. His fingers started wrapping around the hilt, pulling the sword from Kali's hand. Suddenly, his eyes turned red and he moved forward, grabbing her throat.

Before the man in black could attack her again, Kalaini jumped into the air and landed on the other side of the man. She kicked him in the stomach and started punching his head. "You son of a bitch, you ruined my plan!" She held her fist tighter as she struck him again.

He didn't react at all, except for his jaw cracked open.

With a loud crack, his jaw broke and blood poured out. He fell to his knees, holding his bleeding mouth with his bloody hands, "you bi-bitch!" He spat more blood out.

Kalaini hit him several more times before she stepped back and looked at Kali.

"Come on," she said, grabbing her friend's hand. "We've got to get out of here."

With no time to waste, Kalaini grabbed Kali's hands and ran north through the dark-wooden door.

After a few minutes of running, they reach old ruins. A section of the stone wall had collapsed and bricks lied strewn about in piles. The wind whistled through broken windows and the sky is covered in clouds.

"Kalaini, I know this is not the time to complain, but what on earth is happening right now, where are we?" Kali's voice was dry, as she stopped talking to inhale more air and wet her lips.

"I don't know, I have no clue right now... The previous plot was different, I don't even know who these men were and we still left one behind!" Kalaini shouted as she began to walk in circles.

Her hands lifting up and down, fingers non-stop moving, she reached for the last, "Kali, don't tell Haya and Lucas this." She turned her head to Kali when she said that.

"Say what exactly? What is going on here?" Kali no longer understood the situation and her calm and soft personality was slowly fading away.

"System, activate!" Kalaini shouted.

[Avatar:Kalaini]

[Long time no see]

The system greeted her in a different manner than what it usually greets Lucas and Kali.

This took Kali by surprise as she stepped back hearing the system speaking in a different type of tone than it usually does.

The introduction of her was also different, it looked to Kali as if the system favoured Kalaini, 'this should be interesting...' Kali bit both of her lips.

They were in the middle of nowhere, and maybe the system was able to help them right now, so Kali decided not to question anything.

Her sweating armpits and chest covered in cold water drops were smelly, Kali wished for a good shower right now.

"Please, tell us who was this man chasing us, and why is the plot ruined?" Kalaini's voice was loud, it seemed like she was mad at the system.

Something was very odd to Kali but she couldn't figure out what exactly.

"The man in the black is a bug, I have no control of him!"
