Chapter 41 It's Payback

It was an unpleasant sight in Lucas' eyes.

Kali was barely standing, but still fighting this man with the smock. Lucas knew it was the same person from before because he used the same vanishing techniques.

Black blood flowed from Kali's scaly body and her claws trembled, making it difficult for her to defend herself against this mysterious man.

In their last fight, this wanker had beaten Lucas and Kali so badly that he was forced to sleep for a week, and Lucas could not let something like that happen again.

He clenched his fist when he saw him emerge from the black hole behind Kali's back again, 'he uses the same techniques, Lucas gritted his teeth in anger.

Lucas had to think quickly, but at the moment he had few options; one was to ask the system for the pill and let Izek take over his body again, but that would be very unpleasant, and secondly, to ask the white phoenix for help.

Summoning Renexa to the battlefield again would be the best option for Lucas, but she needs too much mana, causing Lucas to lose all his energy. He still was not practised with his familiar, so that would also be too risky, but Kali was hurt by that terrible man.

He did not even wonder why the man was attacking Kali this time, they did not have any gems with them, 'Think Lucas, think!' His leg started to shake, he had no time to lose.

"System, please answer!" Lucas shouted into the air, hoping that this cheeky system would answer.

The tone of this robot was cold and harsh.

'Obviously...' Lucas spoke to himself, 'help me defeat this man, quickly! Kali is in trouble!" Lucas kept looking over his shoulder at Kali.

[You have the Peri or take the confidence pill.]

The system was quite simple.

"What can Peri do?" Lucas' eyes twitched.

[Sigh...]

It sounded to Lucas like the system was taking a deep breath,

[Skills: Memory Wipe]

[Power: 300]

[Energy: 300]

[Destruction: 300]

[Are you satisfied now?]

The system asked him a question that somehow sounded in sarcastic tone.

"Memory wipe? So that's what Haya meant by that, thank you System!" Lucas felt a wave of happiness.

[No problem]

[Goodbye]

He disappeared again.

Lucas' mood brightened, and he made a plan.

He bent to the Peri and began to speak to the creature again, "Peri, I know you can't understand me, but if you do, please nod."

The spirit moved its head to the side.

"Gosh, you do not understand..." Lucas sat back and furrowed his eyebrows, "what was I thinking? He can not understand me..." He pressed his eyes with his right hand.

*Pur* *pur*

It nodded its head.

"You can?" Lucas' hopes rose, "Peri, Kali is in trouble, I know you do not know her, but she is a wonderful person, we must protect her!" A quiet satisfaction spread through when he spoke those words.

"I need you to attack him on my signal, I have no idea what you can do, but you have better power than I do... Peri, when I give you a signal, please attack this man from behind and nod if you understand." He asked him to check again.

*Pur* *pur*

That cute fluffy green spirit nodded his head again, "good, let us go save Kali." Peri lifted Lucas' spirit.

He wasted no more time as the guy attacked Kali more and more.

Lucas watched the man's maneuvers and techniques. He was sucked up by the black hole he conjured up and then emerged from above.

When he appears and attacks from above, he has pulled in and attacks from the right side of the hole. When he returns to the hole, he attacks from behind. When he has finished attacking from behind and disappears again, he attacks from the left.

And so on, he keeps continuing the same attacks.

Everything happens in seconds, but Lucas was smart enough to notice his techniques: "Why did not I notice this before?'

He was close on their heels when a man in black robes returned to the hole, just attacking from above, 'he'll now attack from the right!' Lucas bent down and quickly grabbed a dark stone that fit very snugly in his fist.

It was the size of a tennis ball, he just had to aim for the moment when the black hole appeared.

'Please, don't let it miss, please don't let it miss." Lucas closed his eyes and whispered to himself, then he opened them again and saw a small black hole appear on Kali's right side, "here!" He shouted and aimed full force at the small dark hole that expanded.

"Yes!" He hit it squarely in the hole, forcing it to close, "I have a few seconds before he pops up and attacks us from behind like a sneak." Lucas hurried his steps closer to Kali.

"Kali, please bend down now! He shouted to her, his voice breaking as he suddenly spoke.

Kali's jaw was no longer in her control, it looked as if it had been dislocated from her entire body. Black blood covered her sharp fangs coming out of her mouth, 'Kali...' Lucas felt great guilt inside him, he'd come very late.

Kali listened to Lucas and bent down with the last strength she had left.

She didn't even bother to ask where he came from, she was glad she wasn't alone anymore.

The black hole began to grow and expand.

After seeing Kali's situation, his body shook uncontrollably, but he wasn't nervous, it was anger pulsing through his veins.

Rage overcame him and all he wanted at that moment was to kill this man for doing this to Kali, 'little more' Lucas waited for the hole to appear in front of him.

He ran to the side so he could see this person better when he appeared, and boom, out of the black cave he came, "you fucker!" Lucas shouted at him, not waiting for the man to finish his work.

"Long time no see, loser." This man spoke in his damaged voice and slowly raised his staff.

This time it looked like he wasn't going to attack Kali, but Lucas, "was the stone really that hard?" Lucas smirked, understanding that it worked to divert his attention from Kali.

He couldn't see his face clearly, but if he tried to use the staff against Lucas, it would probably hurt him.

"Oh, just wait!" Excitement filled Lucas' body, he thought he was going to win.

"What're you going to do now? Are you going to talk to yourself again?" The man pointed his staff at Lucas and began muttering ancient words.

A bright light emanated from him, "Not this time, asshole!" Lucas raised his eyebrows and shouted,

"Renexa, now!"
