"Ahahahaha"

A hysterical and annoying laugh filled the forest they were in.

It was a quiet, calm place, with no noise around them.

Lucas lifted his face, letting the light and shadows dance across his skin. 'She's a witch.' He spoke again in his mind,

-' I feel like I should kill you right now.

"Then fucking do it, I want to see you try." Lucas directed his sentence to Izek one more time as he looked Xina in the eye.

The brown trees whipped and crunched against each other like drumsticks in the hands of a giant, it felt like he was on a battlefield with Xina and Izek right now.

"You can not do that, can you? You need my body to control your own shit." Lucas narrowed his eyes to slits, and his eyes opened as wide as saucers.

A deep ache in his bones was not stopping him from standing up to these two bullies now, he had to fight back for his pride and dignity.

"You two can not touch me right now, and neither can the system." Added Lucas to his previous statement, "then allow yourself or your friend to kill me here and now, end it all with me and watch you hang on to me forever." He raised a sardonic eyebrow.

"You do not even know what you are talking about." Xina grinned and laughed a little at herself, "you idiot, you really have no idea what's going on do you?" Xina slowly walked up to Lucas and leaned down, in a sharp voice she spoke, "we are here to help you win, are you that stupid?" She scowled.

Lucas looked her straight in the velvet eyes, directing his anger and madness at the pain caused by Izek's actions.

His auburn eyes stared at her hatefully, not wanting to believe what she just said.

"Lucas, we are your teammates, why would we want to kill you?" Haya finally spoke his words, interrupting the beautiful contest between gazes.

"We are teammates, you say?" Lucas replied, "then why do teammates bully each other and discriminate, why do teammates look down on me and blame me for everything, why do teammates ignore my questions and not give me answers, what kind of team are we?"

Lucas held his gaze with eyes that somehow reassured him. He felt the connection in the pit of his stomach, a warm tingle tickling his internal organs.

The pain Izek had caused had slowly subsided, that stinging sensation no longer whipping through his lower body.

"Listen, kii..." Haya paused, then began to speak again, "Lucas, we are one now, whatever you do will affect us, and whatever we do will affect you. We have to have each other's backs, even if we do not like it." Haya pressed her hand to his eyes and let out a long sigh.

This situation was too ridiculous for him to bear, they had the system that had just given them order and the elf general was chasing after them, God alone knew when the Black Dragon would reappear, they had no time for this.

"Lucas, listen to me." Haya lowered his tone, trying to make it friendlier so as not to upset Lucas further, "we have a mission and now we have a team, all we need is your cooperation, even if you do not like it, at least do it for Kali." The corners of his lips deepened even more.

"If we will screw this time, then I will have no more hope of releasing myself from here." Haya's word

"If we fail this time, then I have no hope of freeing myself from here." Haya's words reached Lucas' ears.

The last sentence about letting go made Lucas pause for a moment, 'what does he mean by that?' He turned his eyes to Haya and asked him in a friendlier tone,

"What do you mean?" He leaned his head lower, put his hand on the cold, wet leaves, and sat down with both feet on the ground.

"Sigh... If we all manage to finish this alive, the system will reward me with freedom and I will not have to wait for people to come here and help me." Haya shifted his gaze to Xina and spoke kindly to make his point.

"Can any of you tell me what's going on with this place?" Lucas needed answers about everything here so he could understand it better.

"I want to know why I am so important here, and what exactly you meant by release, will I be released too?"

Haya looked at Xina one more time and then nodded as if accepting the fact that this time he had to explain this place to Lucas and enlighten him so that he understood everything better.

"Our job is to kill the black wizard in this place, but we keep failing and have been stuck here for thousands of years, in this miserable place." Haya began to speak words little by little.

He averted his gaze from Xina and looked at the old-brown trees, then spoke again, "My last comrade was Izek... to be honest, I was his comrade he had chosen to be human, just as Kali is to you." Haya sighed.

"So..." Lucas was about to say something, but Xina grabbed his lips with her fingers to silence him, she shook them aside and pointed at Haya so he could speak undisturbed.

"Kali was chosen as a dragon and I as a human. Every human in this place, every dragon and elf have their significance. We form a team, fulfill our missions, and follow the plan of the system." Haya braced his hand on his hip and took a deep breath, then began to tell his story.

"All was well, and our team was on the verge of victory until Izek broke through the controlled mind and the system's plan and began to destroy everything around him. Since then, the team has split, teammates have died, and we have never met the black wizard of this place, nor have we seen the end and deliverance."

Haya's lips curled a little, Lucas was unable to see if Haya was crying or not, but he could obviously hear in Haya's quiet tone that he was upset about something, but one question was not clear to Lucas,

"Haya, when you say teammates died, what do you mean? I thought if we died we could come back here, I do not understand." Lucas' head shook with curiosity.

"Izek killed his teammate, destroying the plan and enraging the system."

"Wh-what?" Lucas stuttered, "how did he do that?" He could not believe Haya's words.

"By falling in love with his enemy."
