Chapter 127

127 Chapter 127 Lab Work With The Enthusiastic Alchemist

Early in the morning of the sixth day that Desmond had spent in the world of Erack, the light of dawn had barely made an appearance when a certain stubborn hunter was already finishing his physical training, Desmond covered in sweat took only a minute of rest before of walking to the spring to the east of the property where he proceeded to sit in meditation; from time to time the raven-haired youth condensed a small drop of water from the mana around and dropped it into the center of the spring as he continued his meditation.

This process was repeated an indefinite number of times until the sunlight became intense enough to indicate the beginning of the morning, feeling the heat against his skin Desmond stayed only a few seconds enjoying the moment before leaving his meditation; after which he proceeded to quickly cleanse his body with some spring water before entering the hut.

Not wanting to waste a single moment, Desmond went into the kitchen and hurriedly made breakfast for Sasha and himself, by the time the young vermilion-eyed maid came down from her room and reached the bottom of the stairs with her hair still a little disheveled for sleeping; breakfast was already served on the table and Desmond was putting the same herbal mixture that he saw Sasha use yesterday in the kettle leaving the tea ready for later when they had finished their breakfast.

Sasha could only marvel at how comfortable life was when you had a boyfriend like Desmond, but realizing that she unconsciously thought about him as her boyfriend, she wanted to scold herself for being such a desperate girl; after all, they hadn’t formally established any kind of relationship.

¨But he asked me to accompany him to his world so obviously I am more than just an acquaintance. . . Can I be considered his girlfriend? . . . AAAAAAHHHH stop thinking about it Sasha just let things take their course, you had to try not to seem so desperate for his affection, have some dignity girl. ¨

Completely ignorant of the mess inside the young alchemist’s mind, Desmond proceeded to have breakfast calmly thinking about what he would do today, but when his attention turned to the girl in front of him; Desmond felt a bit guilty for forcing her to go to town with him, so he began to think of a way to make the experience less negative for Sasha.

Breakfast was short and Desmond soon found himself following Sasha to her lab while they both held a cup of tea in hand, by the way, Sasha had mentioned that this type of tea was called “breath of life” by the teacher of she; Desmond having remembered how his body felt while he drank it, he had to agree that it was an appropriate name.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

Having arrived at the laboratory, Sasha proceeded to take out a large number of containers filled with all kinds of liquids while she asked Desmond to help her place the organ that had been extracted from the snake on a work table.

After which Sasha used a small runic razor to open a lateral incision in the organ, making the liquid metal inside it spill, filling a container previously placed by the alchemist; Desmond was forced to hold the organ throughout the process as she did not have any tools that were strong and delicate enough to hold the organ without breaking it.

.....

Once the liquid content of the organ was emptied, Sasha took a sample of it and took it to another work table for analysis, the process was quite simple but at the same time incredibly complicated because it consisted of making your mana flow through the material and use the mana to interact with it in various ways and draw your own analysis based on it; the process required the person who carried it out to have a frighteningly high mana sensitivity and according to Sasha it was because of requirements like this that it is needed a lot of talent to become an alchemist.

Adding that to years of experience and knowledge of properties of all kinds of materials, Desmond realized that his earlier thought of becoming an alchemist himself had been naive at best.

Having finished her analysis, Sasha seemed quite happy with the results, she said that the material contained a ridiculously high concentration of mana of metal type and that his liquid properties gave it the malleability that she so sought; Although she now had to find a way to impregnate a material with this liquid and prevent it from solidifying completely because that, although it would increase its hardness, would also ruin the whole point of the process.

Luckily Sasha had already been investigating this particular topic for quite some time, as it was a recurring problem in previous experiments where the metallic property ended up dominating over the rest and ended up completely metalizing the material to be modified.

According to Sasha, she already had enough ideas on how to make the necessary compound to perform the metallic reinforcement process without damaging or metalizing the target material, so Sasha and Desmond spent a couple more hours in the laboratory while the alchemist worked as possessed; while Desmond acted as her unfortunate assistant.

′′ I have it, yes I have it. . . I only need to take advantage of the liquid nature of the metal, if I stimulate it and channel it with an assimilation compound based on materials rich in water type mana, I can “nourish” the target material. . . Yes, I think it could work. . . but I don’t have a compound on hand. . . I guess I’ll have to set up the distillation process and it’ll be ready by the time we get back from town. . . but even so, I think I have it, this has a very high chance of working. ′′

Seeing Sasha completely absorbed in her own world of alchemy with a happy smile on her beautiful face, Desmond thought that the girl was especially charming when she worked. “Maybe that saying also applies to women,” thought Desmond as he remembered hearing that Men always look prettier when they focus on something they like or something like that.

In the end, they spent another half hour while Sasha ran like crazy around the laboratory preparing the distillation tools and placing all the materials for the assimilation compound that she needed; after a simple snap of Sasha’s delicate fingers the fire lit under certain flasks and everything was ready.

Having finished, Sasha and Desmond left the lab, Sasha paused for a few moments at the edge of the stairs as she seemed to debate within herself for several seconds until she seemed to make a decision and approached Desmond with her cute little face full of determination.

Desmond almost thought the girl was going to ask him to fight a dragon together because of what she looked like, but it ended up being something else entirely that came from Sasha’s raspberry-flavored lips.

′′ Desmond follow me to my room. ′′
