Chapter 35: Chapter 35 Clash of the Titans (2)

(Desmond POV)

′′ I am just an ant′′

It was what I thought while looking at the sky, during the time that I had been in the forest of Serefia I had seen all kinds of magical creatures; from the foolish and reckless Aqua rabbits to the mighty and brutal Skyr Ventis. I even got to see beings more powerful than Skyr Ventis, but even though they were prey I was unable to hunt for now; I never felt the way I feel now that I look at the beings that now argue high in the clouds.

The first one was very similar to a god of Mesoamerican culture, Quetzalcoatl god of the wind and the storm, to be honest, the specific details of said deity are beyond my knowledge but at least I am familiar with the image of him; And that thing up there certainly looks a lot like it.

Thank goodness when I used hunter’s book analysis on it, it turned out not to be a deity; just a being of immeasurable power. . . yep, I don’t feel better about it.

Even the stupid book thinks that thing is dangerous enough that it has to warn me not to take hostile action; It has to be a joke. . . confront that thing? I’m sorry but I haven’t lived long enough yet.

I mean, surely the entire body of this magical beast is extremely valuable; but I doubt that I will willingly give any of those things to someone, and beating them is not even an option.

.....

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

I would like to say that the winged thing in front of the snake is less threatening. . . and it was, after all, it is much smaller in comparison and I am not even able to distinguish much of its appearance from this distance; unfortunately, when I used analysis on it my fear only grew.

Holy, mother of God, that’s a fucking angel. . . I mean a glorious angel and think that they exist. As if that wasn’t enough, this particular one is a six-winged archangel, I have no idea exactly how strong she is among her race, but this is at the top level of the three-star class.

Damn everything in his description is scary, instead of some elemental affinity this archangel who is called Katya uses divine power; I don’t think any elemental power is much in comparison. Adding what was said in the materials section and the additional notes, it becomes very clear how ridiculously powerful the celestial race that angels belong to is.

Even if I put all that aside. . . There is a huge warning about not assaulting any member of the celestial race, even the interdimensional hunter association that I don’t know has a protection / non-aggression treaty with them.

The words “WILL NOT BE TOLERATED” make the association’s position on the treaty quite clear.

Normally with the little information available about the archangel, I should be calmer for my safety; they do not seem an aggressive species. But at this moment I am witnessing how this being of justice and balance is quietly watching as the creature named Eskaylos who brings the storm slaughters an entire human army.

I hate to say it but the humans of this world are not weak at all or at least they don’t seem weak, but for the snake, it makes no difference. The fiery swords, the ice beams, the cutting blades of the wind, or any other projectile and magic attack; have left no visible wound on the creature.

But the same cannot be said of the human beings who fight it, thunder and lightning fall from the sky or are emitted from the mouth of the serpent, massacring and incinerating many human beings.

Many figures wrapped in enormous amounts of magical power soar through the sky in search of fighting Eskaylos, but they all fall in a matter of minutes; I could only witness their pathetic attempts to survive as the serpent went on a murderous frenzy and the archangel watched impassively. The archangel’s calm only sent a chill down my spine.

The battle lasted only half an hour, in just thirty minutes the number of deaths went from tens to hundreds; during that time trying to find a better place to watch the battle. Despite the fear that both the archangel and the four-winged serpent caused me, curiosity brought out the worst in me this time; I found an unusually tall, easy-to-climb tree near the battlefield from which I was able to get a better view.

First I have to say that when I saw the appearance of the archangel all thought in my mind stopped for an unknown amount of time, words simply were not enough to describe the ethereal beauty of this entity that represents justice and balance; I just know that by the time my thoughts returned there were at least 10 more charred corpses on the ground.

When only a small group of people were left wearing clothes one would normally see on church people, the archangel spoke for the first time since the serpent had started this massacre that he seemed to consider amusement.
