Chapter 326 Ascension Spirit Pill

"Let's see what the other girls are doing", Zhan Chen thought to himself and spread his soul consciousness. A smile appeared on his face after he saw Li Shu, Kai Min and Li Yan cultivating ardously on their own.

"Where is the little dragon?", he thought to himself after not finding Long Xinyu inside his cave. He searched all the nooks and corner of his cave complex but couldn't find any trace of Long Xinyu.

'Let's ignore her. She must be using some weired technique to hide herself', Zhan Chen thought to himself. He was planning to meditate for a while but he had to change his plan after noticing a Martial ascension realm disciple of the Xuantian sect. The cultivator was flying towards his mountain and he stopped after reaching near the cave entrance.

"Senior brother Chen, please come out", the cultivator called out politely.

"Are you sent by elder Quang?", Zhan Chen asked after leaving his cave complex.

"Yes, senior brother. I am Zhao Bai Chuan. Senior Quang has sent me to deliver the herbs you have asked for", the cultivators replied. He took out a spatial ring from his robe and handed it to Zhan Chen.

"You are a dual element user!", Zhan Chen looked towards Zhao Bai Chuan with a little surprise in his eyes. He was slightly surprised because the elements that Zhao Bai Chuan was training with. He was training both thunder element and fire element at the same time.

"Senior brother, how do you know?", Zhao Bai Chuan stood stunned for a moment. There was a look of bewilderment on his face as he looked towards Zhan Chen.

"You have a good affinity for fire but you have no talent in thunder element cultivation. Yet, you have forged ahead and already made your body tolerant to the thunder element. That is an incredible acheivement worthy of sect's attention", Zhan Chen spoke. There was a praising look on his face as he looked towards Zhao Bai Chuan.

Generally, he didn't initiate a conversation with an unknown cultivator without any purpose. But the resolve and hard work of Zhao Bai Chuan convinced him to have a chat with the young cultivator.

"Senior brother, how did you know? I have never shared this secret of mine to another soul", Zhao Bai Chuan looked towards Zhan Chen with deep confusion and bafflement on his face. He couldn't understand how a newly joined disciple could see through his most important secret.

"I have my own way. But you do not need to worry about it. Because I am not planning to spill your secret to any other person", Zhan Chen spoke.

Zhao Bai Chuan was still feeling confused but he didn't pester Zhan Chen for an explanation anymore. He bade farewell to him and flew out of the mountain.

Zhan Chen brought out all the herbs after entering inside his cave complex. He checked all of their qualities and a satisfied look appeared on his face.

"Good, all the herbs seem to be at perfect condition", he murmured to himself.

He brought out a pill furnace which he had received as a gift in the Yellow stone city. It was the Alchemy association who had gifted him the pill furnace after he displayed his talent as the youngest alchemy grandmaster of the Northern desert continent.

He brought out some jade containers and started to refine the herbs one by one. This time his job was slightly more challenging as he was extracting the medicinal essence of several grade six and grade five herbs.

It took almost one and half hour for the refinement process to complete. Zhan Chen wiped the sweat coming from his forehead and exhaled a little.

'I wonder how Yin Ran, Hui Ling and Xue Yi will react after I present the Ascension spirit pill to them', Zhan Chen thought to himself. He took a little rest before focusing his attention on the pill furnace again.

He poured the medicinal essence of the spirit herbs one after another and started concocting. A cyan coloured fire came out from his palm and Zhan Chen used it to heat the pill furnace.

The heating process continued for almost half an hour. Zhan Chen controlled his soul fire effectively to manipulate the temperature of the pill furnace. At the end of half an hour, he stopped pouring his soul energy and the cyan coloured fire went off.

A refreshing fragrance wafted into the air as soon as he lifted off the lid. There were twelve pills in the pill furnace which he concocted from seven sets of spirit herbs.

Such an occurence was normal for Zhan Chen as he stored the pills nonchalantly but it would have definitely created a storm if the news was to broke out in open.

He took a short break again and proceeded to concoct the grade six pill. This time, there was a serious expression on his face because concocting a grade six pill was no joking matter.

There was a fundamental difference between grade five and grade six pills. Grade five pills could be concocted by an alchemy grand master but to concoct a grade six pill, one needed to have the eligibility of an alchemy king.

There were numerous alchemy grand masters in the Northern desert continent but there were only a few in the entire continent who could pronounce themselves as alchemy kings.

An alchemy king had an exalted status. No force would dare to harm an alchemy king unless it was not afraid of the wrath of Alchemy association.

All of them were highly respected individuals and would be received respectfully by any power they would like to visit. Their status was so exalted that even the imperial Xie family would not disrespect them without any reason.

And now what Zhan Chen was going to do was exactly acheiving that feat. A successful concoction of a grade six pill meant, he would jump a big barrier and would be promoted to the status of alchemy king from an alchemy grandmaster.

Zhan Chen poured the medicinal essence of grade six herbs one by one. He gave enough time for the medicinal essence to mix with eachother and continued pouring his soul energy into his soul fire which he was using for heating the pill furnace.

The time needed for the grade six pill was fairly high compared to the time taken for the grade five herbs. Zhan Chen had to heat the furnace for almost two hours before he could stop using his soul fire.

He wiped off the beads of sweat from his forehead and took a large breath. "Now the most important step", he thought to himself.

He closed his eyes and sat completely still on his position. His soul consciousness gradually merged with the heaven as he searched for the ethereal laws.

He would have faced problem if he was any ordinary martial ascension realm cultivator but his sage realm soul assisted him at such a moment. He could easily see various strands which represented various elemental laws of heaven.

The pill he was concocting had a water elemental affinity. Zhan Chen guided the ethereal strands of law which represented the water element in environment. He skillfully avoided other strands and guided the deep bluish strands which were generally invisible to common eyes.

There was a large movement came from the pill furnace as soon as Zhan Chen guided the ethereal law strands into the pill furnace. Zhan Chen guided the law stands for few more moments and finally stopped. He cut his soul connection with the heaven and focused his attention on the pill furnace.

The pill furnace was only of earth grade and it was barely holding off after the pill inside was got enriched by the ethereal laws of heaven. Zhan Chen poured his soul energy and stabilized the condition of pill furnace. Then he sank his soul consciousness into the pill which was still in a destabilized condition after receiving the ethereal strands of heavenly laws.

He enveloped the pill with his soul energy and poured soul force inside it. Invisible strands of his soul entered the pill and held the heavenly laws like a cohesive force. The movement inside the pill furnace subsided gradually and the pill started to show sign of completion.

Zhan Chen waited patiently while enveloping the pill with his soul energy. It took almost another half an hour before the condition of the pill was completely stabilized.

He took off the lid and collected the pill with his hand. The pill had a lustrous appearance and was faint bluish in colour. Even, Zhan Chen felt surprised after seeing the appearance of the pill that he had concocted.

'I have concocted it without any negligence. And due to my complete attention, the pill somehow managed to reach the peak quality. Such a pill, even emperors with water affinity will vye for it if someone spread the news of its appearance in the Xuantian sect', he thought to himself.
