The old man nodded his head and took a seat opposite to Chi Zhuyan. Chi Zhuyan clapped his hands and elder Shang from the Spirit palace walked into the great hall.

"Greetings senior", he immediately bowed towards the old man who was sitting opposite to Chi Zhuyan. There was a look of veneration in his eyes when he looked towards the old man sitting alongside his palace master.

"Tao Shang, it is you! You are a middle aged man when I last met you", the old man commented after seeing elder Shang. There was a look of amusement on his face as he looked towards the obedient looking man infront of him.

"Senior, it is the matter eighty years ago. I have barely progressed. Yet, you seemed to have gain much more progress in these eighty years", elder Shang replied.

"It is indeed so. I have been exploring the sea to the south and I got a chance encounter", the old man spoke. A smile appeared on his old face when he thought about his chance encounter.

"That's why I alway give emphasis on exploring. Yet, you stubborn fools wouldn't listen to my words", he further added and looked towards Chi Zhuyan and Tao Shang.

"All are not free like you", Chi Zhuyan wanted to reply but he knew, he couldn't. Otherwise, no one could handle the old man infront of him if he got mad for some reason.

"Now, let's focus on the main topic. Tell me, why are you giving so much importance to a lidd kid of Zhan clan.

He might be a genius but it is not enough to start a conflict with the Heavenly sword sect", the old man looked towards Chi Zhuyan.

"That was exactly why I have called elder Shang", Chi Zhuyan replied.

"Elder Shang, please go to the guest palace and bring Zhan Chen here. It is morning already. So, he must be awake now", Chi Zhuyan spoke and looked towards Tao Shang.

Elder Shang nodded his head and bid farewell to his palace master and old man Liyang. A confused expression appeared on the old expert's face after he saw Tao Shang going away. "Little Zhuyan, what are you trying to do?", he looked towards the palace master of the Spirit palace.

"Grand uncle Liang, Zhan Chen is here. So, why don't you see for yourself. I have tried to see through him but I failed even after using my Heaven gazing technique", Chi Zhuyan spoke.

"Your Heaven gazing technique failed!", old man Liang asked as a look of disbelief appeared on his face. Chi Zhuyan nodded grimly as both of them waited for Tao Shang to return.

Zhan Chen was cultivating inside his room when he heard a knock coming from his door. He opened his eyes and walked towards the door to see the visitor.

"Greetings senior", he bowed immediately after seeing elder Shang infront of his door. "Zhan Chen, have you rested well?", Tao Shang asked. Zhan Chen nodded his head with a smile on his face.

"Shall we go then? It will be a long day for you after we leave", Tao Shang spoke.

"Senior, where are we going? Are we going to the Soul island straight?", Zhan Chen looked towards Tao Shang.

"No, we are going to the sacred palace first. My palace master wants to introduce you to a senior of ours", Tao Shang spoke. Zhan Chen nodded his head but a vigilant look appeared in his heart.

"The senior he is talking about, must be an old monster of the Spirit palace. It will be wise to restrain myself a little", he thought to himself while flying with Tao Shang.

The familiar looking palace appeared infront of him after he flew with elder Shang for a while. The expressionless guards greeted them before they enter the ancient looking palace.

Zhan Chen walked along with elder Shang and reached a long corridor. There was a large hall at the end of the corridor where he found Chi Zhuyan.

The palace master of the Spirit palace was sitting with an archaic looking old man. The old man looked at him as soon as he entered the large hall.

Zhan Chen felt as if he was looking towards two globes of fire when he looked at the old man's eyes. He immediately looked away and greeted Chi Zhuyan.

"Zhan Chen, have you rested well?", Chi Zhuyan asked with a smile on his face. Zhan Chen nodded his head and focused his eyes on the archaic looking old man once again.

"Greetings senior", he bowed slightly to show courtesy to the peak expert. But inwardly he was highly vigilant because the dangerous sensation he felt moments ago.

"What an interesting junior!", old man Liang exclaimed as he focused his eyes on Zhan Chen's body. Zhan Chen felt uncomfortable by the blatant use of soul consciousness but he could only pretend to know nothing as old man Liang looked at him with his soul consciousness.

Chi Zhuyan wanted to stop his grand uncle but he was powerless to do so. A grim look appeared on his face when he saw the eyes of old man Liang changing colour.

Zhan Chen felt a mighty conciousness trying to see through his soul. He could have resisted easily but he thought otherwise. A cold glint flashed past his eyes as he opened his soul barrier.
