Chapter 251 Beginning Of The First Stage

The second elder of the Lu clan felt something and turned his head to look at the sky. It was Ying Chao from the Xuantian sect who had come to fetch Zhan Chen.

"Greetings senior", Ying Chao bowed slightly towards the second elder of the Lu clan. His cultivation was similar to the second elder of the Lu clan but the second elder was far too old compared to his own age.

So, Ying Chao showed basic etiquette and looked towards the second elder. "I have met you when you are just a Martial ascension realm fledgling but now you stood at the same cultivation realm like me", the second elder of the Lu clan spoke.

"Have you come for this little brat?", he pointed towards Zhan Chen. Ying Chao nodded his head and shifted his gaze towards Zhan Chen.

"Zhan Chen, you have already learned the rules of the competition. Now, tell me whether you want to participate in a five member group or a three member group?", Ying Chao asked.

"Senior, how many participants have come from the Xuantian sect?", Zhan Chen asked.

"We have brought twelve of them. If we add you, then our number of participants will be thirteen.

"We are planning to form two five members group and one three members group. Tell me, in which group you want to participate?", Ying Chao asked Zhan Chen.

"Senior, I will join the three member group", Zhan Chen contemplated for a moment and replied.

"It is a given that he will make it to the third stage of the competition. But I can't tell that whether he can compete with those geniuses who have reached Martial ascension realm before the age of thirty", Lu Tai Cang replied.

"You think so highly of him?", second elder knitted his eyebrows.

"Girly, what do you think?", he looked towards Lu Mingxi.

"Senior, I have the same opinion as elder Cang. I think Zhan Chen can reach the third stage of the competition if he try his best", Lu Mingxi replied.

They were not using the mental messages for conversation. So, the participants of the Lu clan could hear the conversation between their elders. Some of them felt envious of Zhan Chen and threw competetive stairs towards the Xuantian sect group where Zhan Chen was standing.

"Seems like you are really popular among the Lu clan participants. Otherwise, why that blockhead Lu Xiaojun would look our way like this?", an enchanting voice sounded near the ears of Zhan Chen.

"Senior sister, how can it be? Considering your popularity, he must be looking at you", Zhan Chen replied. His luck with the beauties continued even after he joined the Xuantian sect group.

Xuantian sect had brought twelve cultivators and five of them were girls. One had a cold look on her face and she didn't even look at him after he was brought. Other four looked at him curiously and Zhan Chen immediately began to talk with one of them.

Her name was Sima Chunhua and she was a great beauty who was really popular among the Xuantian sect cultivators. Zhan Chen could guess this much immediately after seeing the hostile look on the faces of some of the participants.

"Junior brother, you are really funny. You have a sweet mouth but I have yet to see your skills", Sima Chunhua spoke with a smile on her face. She looked at the young man beside her curiously as no one had talked with her this way like Zhan Chen did.

Spirit palce asked for the willing participants to register their groups first. There was a beeline towards the Spirit palace representatives after the announcement was made.

"Jia Lingyi, Sima Chunhua, Ling Xuan Wu come forward", Ying Chao spoke. The beauty beside Zhan Chen smiled softly towards Zhan Chen and walked towards the front. The ice cold beauty who seemed to be in a world of her own also came forward and there was a burly young man following behind her.

"You three have the highest cultivation among our participants. I want to hear your opinion before deciding upon the groups for the competition", Ying Chao spoke.

"I will follow Lingyi", the burly young man was the first to reply.

"The strongest team should be formed around elder sister Lingyi and elder brother Xuan Wu. I will keep others and try to make it to the third stage of the competition", Sima Chunhua replied.

Ying Chao looked towards the cold beauty but didn't receive any response. He shook his head and looked towards the other Xuantian sect cultivators.

"We will form three groups in total. First two groups will be laid by Jia Lingyi and Sima Chunhua. As for the third group, we will decide upon it after forming the first two groups ", Ying Chao announced.

He gave free hands to Jia Lingyi and Sima Chunhua to decide their groups. They selected the best cultivators among the thirteen to form their groups.

Sima Chunhua threw an apologetic look towards Zhan Chen but he didn't mind it at all. He could see how much she wanted to make it to the third stage of the competition. She had yet to know him properly. So, it would be unwise of her if she decide upon him in the place of other Xuantian sect cultivators.

"Now the third group. We don't expect anything from you but please try to do your best and survive the first stage of the competition", Ying Chao spoke.

The remaining two cultivators from the Xuantian sect had a bitter look on their faces. Both of them had mid Core condensation realm cultivation but such cultivation level was weakest among the participating cultivators of the Xuantian sect. They didn't have any speciality beside their cultivation either. So, they could understand their non inclusion among the best two groups.

They looked towards the only remaining person beside them and wanted to curse out loudly after seeing the non chalant look on his face. "What is the point in participating in the battle? This brat may be a genius but his cultivation can't be much considering his age. We are doomed since the beginning", they thought to himself.

The first stage of the final round began soon after the registration process was over. Spirit drums were brought out and an expert from the Spirit palace flew into the sky to announce the beginning of the competetion.

There were no announcement of the group names. So, the participating groups had to come to the platform voluntarily for participating in the competetion.

Such a practice meant chaos among the participating groups but none of the onlookers mind it. They waited patiently as the first ten groups occupied the five battle platforms.

Battle started immediately after the three beatings from the spirit drum. Each group showcased their talents while trying to outsmart the opposition groups.

Zhan Chen could see that none of the participants were weak as most of them had core condensation realm cultivation. But such a level of cultivation didn't matter here if you can't perform on the battle stages of the Grand sect competition.
