Chapter 304 Anecdotes Of Peng Hou

[Ancecdotes of Peng Hou]

[Anecdote 1: Peng Hou was a natural tree spirit born from the Spiritless Tree. As ironic as it might sound, Peng Hou was born because the tree was previously spiritless for several eons. The Immortals and Gods might have pitied the Spiritless Tree and let it give birth to an actual tree spirit. From the moment he was born, the living beings in that world prospered and enjoyed the benefits it gave them through worshipping the tree spirit. Since then, the Spiritless Tree was renamed the Peng Hou Tree.]

[Spiritless Tree: A tree born from the world's *censored*. It was one of the least exceptional trees among the exceptional list of trees. As it did not have its own spirit and consciousness, the tree, approaching the age of several eons, could give birth to a tree spirit (e.g. Peng Hou).]

[Anecdote 2: There was once a rogue traveler and cultivator who came to pass by their world. He was called *censored*, a very powerful being that Peng Hou first encountered ever since it was born. This cultivator was apparently foreign to their world and was curious about its existence. The cultivator approached the tree and plucked one of its fruit, incurring the wrath of the several living beings who were worshipping the Peng Hou Tree. Peng Hou was also enraged about this. However, the cultivator just smiled and disappeared after plucking two of the tree's fruits. Peng Hou observed the world and found that the man left not a single trace. Although it found the appearance and disappearance of the cultivator strange and confounding, Peng Hou ignored this and focused on maintaining the health of the Peng Hou Tree for the longest time it could.]

[Anecdote 3: War ensued. The living beings in Peng Hou's world had turned greedy over the resources and even used the Peng Hou Tree's fruits as the winning prize for whoever won the war. Peng Hou was enraged. It urged the tree to move to another location but was unable to. Therefore, it could only stay and protect it with its life. Whoever intended to use the fruits of its friend would immediately be transformed into a form of resource for the Peng Hou Tree. It was a technique it learned through its memories. When the living beings saw and realized the situation, they offered all their subordinates as sacrifices for a greater cause, that was, to become resources to make the Peng Hou Tree stronger. The stronger the Peng Hou Tree, the more potent the effects of its fruits. Therefore, they took the risk. Peng Hou was even more enraged.]

[Peng Hou Fruit: A fruit that can increase one's cultivation speed, born from the Peng Hou Tree, which is the evolved form of a Spiritless Tree.]

[Anecdote 4: Peng Hou continued to use the living beings sent by their own people as resources for its friend, the Spiritless Tree, presently the Peng Hou Tree. Due to his rage, he continued and continued until there were still more living beings and the Spiritless Tree eventually exploded into nothingness as it received too many resources from Peng Hou's technique. The moment Peng Hou saw this, it had tears in its eyes, feeling inexplicable, unable to understand the pain and sorrow it was feeling. It felt numb and when it saw its friend that was no more to be found, he wandered around the world and searched for the purpose of its life.]

[Anecdote 5: Wandering around another world, it found no meaning in life. However, when it saw another tree that looked like a Spiritless Tree, it felt some familiarity. Thus, it was feeling ecstatic and hurriedly resided within the Spiritless Tree with utmost care. When the tree transformed into something because it appeared, the living beings of this world chose to live near the once-a-Spiritless Tree. However, Peng Hou, this time, was not as merciful or generous as it was before. It disdained the living beings and looked down on them like they were lowly beings. It learned its lesson.]

[Anecdote 8…]

"These are some interesting anecdotes of an ignorant tree spirit, born from the world itself. Moreover, it seems like it's very powerful as well," Yang Lujia assessed after reading the first passages of the anecdotes. "I wonder what kind of tree spirit I would summon be. Could it have the same starting point as these in the anecdotes or something different?"

Yang Lujia came to ask different questions in his head as he looked at the gradually emerging figure of the so-called Peng Hou, a tree spirit born from the world, a natural tree spirit. He was also looking forward to it as it was once one of the spirits in the Age of Spirits that was considered to be very strong after it continued to grow in character.

After a while, when Peng Hou, the tree spirit, finally showed its first appearance in the Five Realms, Yang Lujia, who rarely had any emotions felt, was somewhat in a daze. It looked like generally a coyote in his mind. However, this one was abnormally different when in terms of its overall appearance.

Peng Hou had a fur of dark green shades on top and fern-like horns that leaned towards its back. Shockingly, these horns had pointy leaves on them that were vibrantly green. It had large triangular ears near the opposite sides of its head and a long, narrow muzzle. Its eyes were dark green and it had a furry tail.

When it laid its eyes on Yang Lujia, its normally dead and dark green eyes regained their color and its figure jumped onto him. Peng Hou, the tree spirit, was not that big in size. In fact, its length was just as long as his arms, its legs even more slender than his wrist.

"Even though you look like a coyote, you look more like a cat because of your size," Yang Lujia commented. "From now on, since you are a tree spirit, I will call you just like what you are supposed to be called: Peng Hou."

When Peng Hou heard what Yang Lujia called him, it felt as though euphoria caressed its weak heart like never before. This was a name not foreign to him. It was a name given to it and the new friend it found, Yang Lujia, who, although not a tree, was someone it acknowledged from the bottom of its heart. It wasn't because Yang Lujia was a tree of some sort but because of the Summoning Writ that had this kind of invisible force that bound itself together with the summoner.

[Peng Hou: A tree spirit born from the Ages of Spirits, one of the strongest spirits that ever lived, with no other relative as it was a unique existence. It is currently proficient in the rules of life and affinity. As its strength was largely suppressed by the laws of this world, it could not erupt in its original strength, unless its strength surpassed the creator of this world.]

[Note: There are also other tree spirits. Peng Hou is only one of them.]

"Oh? He's actually one of the strongest spirits, huh? These rules of life might be very familiar to me, but these rules of affinity… what are they…" Yang Lujia wondered as he held Peng Hou in his arms. He temporarily ignored this confusion and instead looked at Peng Hou and thought of something. "Anyway, have such beautiful horns that look like branches with vibrant leaves, I will call you Green."

"No…" Brownie was too late to warn the little guy as he was momentarily stunned by Peng Hou's emergence. Yang Lujia was just too lousy with making names and Green was a very generic one for a cute creature like Peng Hou, something grand was more plausible.

'Anyway, how is it that this guy always has good things with him? First, he took out that scroll and summoned someone like Peng Hou. I even reincarnated and somehow he got his hands on the egg from where I was hatched. What the hell? Moreover, for him to claim that he is only around 20 plus right now, I would have doubted it if he does not have some childish moments. After all, experts tend to be mature in their bearing. This kid is just different. Probably, he's really just a kid as he said.'

Anyhow, Brownie decided to ignore these as even he himself would have several secrets; therefore, so would Yang Lujia.
