CH 147

Name:No Moral Author:
Frankly speaking, Sehun had thought that Yoonshin would bring up the topic of his sister’s marital problems back in the lobby. Sehun mentioned a statement of claim because he wanted to straighten out this situation—he laid a trap of sorts. Yoonshin was bad at fooling others, so he would raise the white flag. If the younger man had requested help as a willing hostage, Sehun was considering throwing away his values just this once to help him. Yoonshin was worthy of that.

However, the other threw a curveball at him, deeply shaking Sehun.

“I like you, Senior Attorney.”

Sehun always questioned everything, but conversely, he could come to sharp and quick decisions.

He wasn’t so foolish to not know that “I like you” was the only statement that Yoonshin wanted to say to him at that moment.

Sehun couldn’t understand how Yoonshin could always be so confident, never doubting any of his feelings even once. The younger man didn’t hide his feelings or try to cover them up. He wasn’t uncomfortable about them at all. When he was unsure about his feelings, he said so, and when he gained faith in his heart, he unwaveringly told the other person. Sometimes, Yoonshin seemed calculating, but at others, he didn’t seem to calculate anything at all.

Yoonshin was different from Sehun, who always analyzed his gains and losses and acted accordingly. Sehun couldn’t wrap his head around Yoonshin, who had frequently deviated from his expected course of action. This only heightened his attraction toward Yoonshin—to the point that Sehun would willingly be used by the other.

Sehun glared lasers into the lily, then he realized how awkward it was of him to be having such thoughts and scoffed at himself. He glanced at his watch. If he went back the way he came from back to the river, it would be the deep of night, but he didn’t like to be in possession of other people’s presents for too long.

“Do you still hate when there is no cause to the effect?”

Yoonshin was the condition on the table, but Sehun surprisingly didn’t hate that anymore. He started to think that, sometimes, incidents without a causal link might be fine. It was fine—as long as the result was Yoonshin.

“You did well to attend. You met me there.” As Sehun recalled the tender voice, he picked up his coat again.

Then, he picked up the lily delicately, as if it was Yoonshin, and left his house.

Act 17

Sehun and Yoonshin sat side by side in the office, the coffee table in front of them. The two were having a one-on-one meeting in advance of the acquisition of Youngjin Construction. Yoonshin was the least experienced on the special team, so he had to help with operational and management tasks aside from his primary duties. Since this was Yoonshin’s first time on a job like this, he was afraid that he would make a mistake, so he sent Sehun an SOS signal. Sehun ended up helping Yoonshin despite being the one who instructed him in the first place.

Stacks of documents were everywhere, and there were three laptops connected to one another in front of them. Yoonshin was staring at the monitor in the middle, while Sehun was flipping through the papers and reading the key points of the documents. Then, at the same time, they both reached out for their mugs, which were unfortunately right next to each other.

Their hands bumped into each other. Their bubble of concentration burst, and the two exchanged looks. Yoonshin retracted his hand sheepishly, but Sehun hooked his fingers on Yoonshin’s hand.

“Why are you avoiding me?” Sehun asked.

“I’m not avoiding you. If you’re thirsty, go ahead.”

Sehun frowned, displeased, and stared at Yoonshin before pulling away. His throat bobbed as he swallowed a long and slow sip of water.
