CH 123

Name:No Moral Author:
It was past midnight, but he and his sister had often contacted each other in the dead of night, so he didn’t think he would be bothering her. Shameful as it was, he thought this was the right time to bring up the marriage meeting again.

He had already messaged his blind date, telling her that he had recently started a new project and wouldn’t have time to meet any time soon. While he stalled for time, he was going to talk this issue out with his sister to send his blind date a polite rejection. However, his plans to meet Ikyung were pushed back indefinitely by his sister, and before he knew it, they were already near the end of the year.

She needed time to straighten out the situation, so it would be meaningless for her to delay it any further.

Yoonshin was about to send his message when he saw a black car driving into the narrow road to his left. It was an expensive sedan, a common model in the area, so he didn’t think much of it at first.

But once he saw the license plate, he changed his mind.

It was Sehun’s car.

“Attorney Kang? Attorney Kang!” Yoonshin waved at the car belatedly, and the car drove past him indifferently. Knowing Sehun’s personality, Sehun might have driven by despite seeing the younger man, but Yoonshin’s intuition told him that Sehun truly didn’t see him.

Yoonshin quickly triangulated the distance between him, the garage, and the lobby and calculated the speed he would need to run to catch Sehun. Yoonshin decided to just sprint to the building’s entrance. He dashed at full speed into Building A, where Sehun lived. Although he had never been to Building A, the layout of it was the same, so he could easily figure out his trajectory.

Yoonshin checked the display panel of the elevator heading upstairs. He happened to see the numbers blinking on one elevator, coming up from the second basement floor.

He stabbed at the button, and the cabin opened in time. Inside, Sehun was leaning askance against the wall and had his eyes closed. He looked unusually tired. Unlike when he saw him when he felt ambivalent toward Sehun, seeing him so tired made Yoonshin feel bad.

Thinking that it was strange that the doors opened yet nobody came in, Sehun finally opened his eyes and stared at the door. When he realized that it was Yoonshin, he tilted his head, nonplussed. “Did I come to the wrong building? That can’t be.”

“No, you’re in Building A. Nice to see you,” Yoonshin said with a nod after intently listening to the voice as deep as the ocean. Then, he got on the bulky elevator. He rolled the shrinking orb of sugar in his mouth, then he peeked at Sehun. “You’re late today. I thought you left early.”

“I met with people from Taesan Construction. Why are you on this elevator?” Sehun asked.

Yoonshin didn’t answer. Sehun angled his face, glancing to his side, then added, “I asked why you got on. Did you have something to discuss with me?”

“Did you know that you’re stingy about sharing your personal information?”

“What do you want to know?”

“Everything, from head to toe, from the cradle to the grave.”

Sehun laughed hollowly. Yoonshin shamelessly shrugged, and Sehun just chuckled again. He didn’t seem to hate Yoonshin’s boldness.

“Why is the Fourth-year coming here at this time?” Sehun asked instead.

“Because there’s something that I need to submit to my superior by 8:59 tomorrow. I came in the middle of looking at it, so I need to pull an all-nighter when I get home.” Yoonshin anxiously watched the numbers increase, and when he hit his main point, he turned his body sharply.
