Chapter 130 The Immortal Servant

Nathan's eyes widened with wonderment as he gazed at the mysterious tome that was floating nearby, its pages fluttering rapidly.

"So, this is a Grimoire?" he murmured in awe.

"I've seen you guys use one before," Nathan said, his face bright with enthusiasm, "but this is the first time I've had the chance to own one of my own."

Meriel hummed thoughtfully, nodding in agreement. "It's true - with that Grimoire, you're ahead of the game compared to other people, Mr. Natnan. Mine isn't nearly as powerful as yours. The Grimoire you have makes it seem like you can summon a general-grade creature, and potentially even more if you can unlock its full potential. It's an amazing artifact!"

He then turned to Meriel, who looked both speechless and amazed. "What sets a Grimoire apart from other kinds of Artifact weapons?" he asked her.

Meriel shook her head briskly, snapping herself out of her reverie. Promptly responding to Nathan's query, she explained, "A Grimoire is a book of magical spells, with a unique selection of incantations included within each chapter. The spells are divided into distinct chapters according to their strength and potency. It can take a considerable amount of time to unlock all the chapters. What makes the Grimoire so special, though, is that it has a power that no other Grimoire has; thus, an individual can only be bound to a single Grimoire for their entire life, until either the Grimoire is destroyed or the person dies."

Meriel spoke with enthusiasm, a stark contrast to her typical behavior, articulately and at length.

Nathan nodded in agreement. "I think I understand. You seem to have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to grimoires, perhaps we can delve deeper into the topic later?"

"Of course, Mr. Nathan," Meriel replied in a gentle tone.

He then spotted Rowena, who was engaged in a fierce battle with Linda. It was obvious that the Undead woman had the upper hand; she had Linda pinned to the ground with her dark energy, rendering her completely immobile.

Linda's shrill screams echoed through the air, sounding like an amalgamation of rage and hatred.

Nathan rose to his feet, feeling a sense of urgency to awaken Linda and bring her back to reality, and he made his way over to the undead woman.

Rowena, The Vampire Queen, was a formidable and mesmerizing figure. Her body was slender and graceful, with a regal air of authority. Her skin was a luminous and pale white, her face framed by long, wavy blonde hair cascading down her back. Her eyes were a deep, crimson red, and her full lips a deep, ruby hue.

She wore a long, floor-length gown of deep black with a high collar and long, flowing sleeves. She was an elegant and powerful figure, a creature of pure beauty and strength, an air of nobility visible in her appearance.

She looked like a woman in her mid-twenties but with perfections rarely seen in an adult woman.

Rowena smiled slyly, and then, in a blink of an eye, she vanished and suddenly appeared right in front of Meriel, her body close to the Dark Elf girl.

"Dark Elf...." Rowena uttered the words in a menacing hiss. Then, she moved her face even closer to Meriel, brushing her fingertips against the girl's cheek.

Taken aback, Meriel stepped back, her breath suddenly becoming loud, her body trembling. She closed her eyes, overwhelmed by the proximity of Rowena.

"You're very cute for a dark elf," Rowena said before taking a few steps back and bowing her body slightly.

"Does the Master prefer women with these characteristics: purity, endearment, and compliance?"

Nathan stayed silent, watching Rowena intently, his mind full of questions that he couldn't bring himself to vocalize. He decided to keep quiet and let the undead woman continue introducing herself.

"Rowena, the Vampire Queen expresses her devotion to my new Master, Nathan Gardner."

"Nice to meet you too, Rowena. I'm sure that by working together we can achieve great things. I'm grateful for your prompt response and assistance."

Rowena raised her head, walked slowly towards Nathan, and was now standing very close to him; she was almost the same height as him.

With a seductive smile, she brought her face closer to Nathan's and gently placed her cold fingers on his palm.

"So, Master," she said with a playful smirk, "it seems you have quite a few questions for me. Even though I'm not usually one for explanations, I'm willing to answer any questions you may have about me."

Nathan nodded, "Alright, Rowena. Can I call you that, or should I address you as Your Majesty?" he asked slowly, looking directly into her eyes.

Rowena immediately stifled a laugh, her lips curled into a smile. The shrill sound of her laughter sent a shiver down Nathan's spine.

"You may call me Rowena," she said softly, her eyes glimmering.

Nathan smiled reassuringly, "Okay." he said earnestly.

Rowena came closer to Nathan, pressing her chest against his. She whispered into his ear, "Master, I can't help but be aroused by the sight of you. You're so strong, your body is perfect, and your face is handsome..."

Rowena leaned in, her lips almost touching Nathan's ear, and spoke in a low whisper meant only for him. "A blessing of destruction encircles you," she said.

'A blessing of destruction?' Nathan pondered the undead woman's words, wondering if she was referring to the blessing of sins.

He didn't want to discuss this further in the presence of Meriel, so he put the thought aside and refocused on his more pressing concern: Linda!

Nathan then moved past her to approach Linda, who was struggling against Rowena's restraints.

He reached out and brushed a few strands of Linda's hair away from her face. She seemed to be trying to bite him, screaming desperately in an attempt to escape.

"Linda?" he questioned. "How can we make her regain consciousness?"

Meriel then hurried over to Nathan and knelt down next to him. However, she remained silent.

Suddenly, they noticed someone running towards them from a distance. It was Yudan, who was gripping his wounded chest and trembling uncontrollably.

Nathan anxiously asked, "Yudan, are you okay?" His face was full of panic.

Yudan shook his head, then raised his right hand as if to ward off Nathan, who was getting ready to stand up to help him. "Don't worry, I'm alright," he said, panting.

He then gestured towards Linda. "She's the god apostle of Patience," Yudan said thoughtfully.

"If I'm understanding this correctly, it's possible these apostles have two modes - their virtuous mode, which in Linda's case is Patience - and then the opposite, which is Wrath. I'm not sure if she's still out of control when she's in Patience mode, but I'm certain her awareness is still there. Maybe if we can get her to release her anger, then she can return to normal." He explained his conclusion in great detail.

Nathan nodded slowly, hearing Yudan's words, "Thank Yudan." he said slowly.

Nathan looked back at Linda, who raised her face to Nathan's and hissed with visible veins popping out of her skin.

"What made you angry, Linda?" He tried to think.
