Chapter 39.2 – Covering One’s Face In Despair (2)

Qi Yang softly snorted and deliberately asked her, “What do you mean by last night?”

Did she still have to ask? She was thanking her for taking her drunken self away from the House of Happiness last night, then bringing her back here and taking good care of her.

Lu Qipei knew very well that Her Royal Highness The Princess was currently teasing her, but she still couldn’t help thinking about all the details of last night again… Her white cheeks turned red again from both shame and embarrassment. The little composure she had instantly disappeared again.

Qi Yang knew from a glance that Lu Qipei still remembered what happened last night. She was a little amused and a little annoyed – she secretly made a note of the fact that she was used as a pillow last night. Once they were married, she would settle the account!

But for now, it’s not worth molesting her too much and scare her away.

Qi Yang lifted the quilt and got up, but didn’t call anyone to serve her. Instead, she hooked her finger at Lu Qipei who was still kneeling at the foot of the bed. She domineeringly said, “If Ah Pei wants to thank me, you should at least show it with action.”

Lu Qipei didn’t know why, but she followed her out of bed and was taken to the dressing table. Qi Yang then put a comb in her hand.

Qi Yang wanted her to comb her hair. This wasn’t difficult – although Lu Qipei wore men’s clothing most of the time, no one restrained her back when she was in Jiangnan. So when her eyes met Qi Yang’s, she nodded and agreed, then she had Qi Yang sit on the chair. When her finger lightly passed through Qi Yang’s beautiful black hair, she somehow felt a tingle as if the hair brushed past her heart…

Lu Qipei always thought that something had changed after that night. She thought that her bad side had been seen by Qi Yang, but the latter’s attitude did not change, so she became happier and her heart beat faster.

Lu Qipei couldn’t tell what she was feeling right now, but she felt as if Qi Yang who was sitting under the sun became more and more beautiful, making her feel a little sentimental.

The atmosphere inside the room gradually improved as the couple became lost in their own world, but on the other side there was Zhi Ting who had been waiting outside all morning.

As Princess Qi Yang’s personal maid, Zhi Ting had no end to her worries. From when Qi Yang ran into Lu Qipei outside the city that day and secretly smuggled her into the palace, to then insisting on making her the Prince Consort, and now she even stayed with her overnight. Zhi Ting really couldn’t imagine what would happen if others found out about it.

If the Emperor found out, he would surely kill her, right!?

Zhi Ting spent the whole night being worried, and went to wait in front of Qi Yang’s bedroom before dawn with black and blue under her eyes. The result was that she didn’t hear anything from inside the room until the sun was up, and her heart grew colder the longer she waited.

Her Highness had a daily routine and would usually get up at seven at the latest, but today was so different… A man and a woman together in the same room, not to mention they loved each other. It was impossible to say that nothing happened last night, right!?

Zhi Ting’s scalp became numb when she thought of this, and she could only blame His Majesty for not getting the two married earlier.

In order to prevent more people from finding out that Her Majesty stayed together with a man, Zhi Ting sent away the maid who was usually tasked with helping Her Highness wash up and waited personally in front of Qi Yang’s door with hot water. However, it was not until the hot water had cooled down three times that she finally heard movement from inside.

Zhi Ting was so excited at that moment that she didn’t even care about the cold water and hurriedly knocked on the door in front of her.

“Come in.” Qi Yang’s voice was lazy. She had been in a good mood, and was a little upset from being disturbed.

Zhi Ting hurriedly pushed open the door and saw Qi Yang sitting in front of the dressing table, letting Lu Qipei comb her hair. Sunlight from outside the window shone down on the two, making the scene look gentle and timeless.

For a moment, Zhi Ting couldn’t bear to disturb them, as if she didn’t want to damage the beautiful scene in front of her.

Qi Yang glanced at her through the bronze mirror and asked, “Why are you here so early?”

Zhi Ting wanted to cry when she heard this, but the resentment in Her Highness’s eyes could not be more obvious. She was stuck; it was hard for her to say that she had been waiting outside since before dawn.

So she just put down the copper basin she was holding and pretended as if she had something to report. “Your Highness, I just heard news that Liu Chen was thrown out of Spring Breeze Pavilion this morning.”

Lu Qipei paused when she heard this, and turned to look at Zhi Ting. She was obviously surprised – she clearly remembered Zhi Ting’s report last night, but didn’t this current report come too soon!?

Qi Yang didn’t say anything when she heard this. She saw Lu Qipei turning around to look at Zhi Ting, so she pulled her hand, once again forbidding her from looking at another woman.
