Chapter 220 Preparation For War

I also checked my system to see if there was special spy training for my minion, but there wasn't any special spy training for the minion. I will have to send scouts to find out more about the enemies. I also have the option to train warrior minions to Stage 1 of the Intelligence Variant. This will make them more suitable for spying on enemies.

I thought about it for a while, and this was the best idea I was able to come up with. So, I opened my control system.

[Resource Division] (798 Minions) [Show More]

[Combat Division - Standard] (590 Minions) [Show More]

[Combat Division - Magic] (310 Minions) -1x Advanced Warrior Minion -87x Warrior Minions -338x Scout Minions (Swordplay) -164x Scout Minions (Archery)

[Utility Division] (76 Minions) [Show More]

So, I have 87 warrior minions. I placed 7 minions in Stage 1 training. The training would cost me resources, but it was better to spend some resources on training than to send them untrained and get them killed.

The training will take a maximum of 6 hours to complete. I also had the option of brute force training, which might come in handy during a one-on-one fight. We can also use it to invade the cities of other humans. So, I decided to experiment with my warriors and put 10 warrior minions in brute force training. This training will also take a maximum of 6 hours.

Now, I had to wait until the evening until my warriors were properly trained and ready to be sent into the field. The Warriors have started their training, and I was able to see them working out. The warriors training for the intelligence variants were not doing physical training; instead, they were standing in one place while a new program was being loaded into them.

I moved away from the warriors to check on the work the minions had been doing. I didn't stop the construction work throughout the night. The resource-collecting minions were put on hold because going near the forest during the night was dangerous, but the minions in the city kept working.

I opened the advanced controls to see the progress.

The work was nearly complete, and I was happy that now we would be able to start construction of the wall and the bridge. I remembered that I hadn't designed the bridge yet. I opened the city design and was relieved to see the whole design. I went to the entrance section of the city and decided on the length and width of the bridge. It was enough that my soldiers could easily cross the bridge and go to the other side quickly.

Now I had to design the entrance. I decided to make two doors, one on each side of the moat. I added some stone walls to the side of the door on the other side of the moat to give it strength.

The door was made of iron and wood, with big wooden logs strengthened with strong iron bars and nails. The door was going to be heavy and strong enough to keep enemies from reaching the bridge. The door in the city wall was going to be an iron door, constructed entirely out of iron and with two sides that open inward.

I also thought about adding another door made of iron rods that could be pulled up, but that door would reduce the strength of the wall. So, I removed that door from the design and kept these two doors

I also thought about adding another door made of iron roads, the one which could be pulled up, but that door was going to reduce the strength of the wall. So, I removed that door from the design and kept these two doors in the city design.

I was first thinking about making a bridge in a way that if the enemy attacks, we can easily destroy the bridge from the inside. However, upon consideration, this was a total flop idea. It was going to be a complete waste of resources, so instead of making a bridge that could be destroyed, I thought of making a retractable bridge.

The bridge will be made in the form of a single board, and on the other side of the bridge, strong iron chains will be connected, which will then go to the pillars on either side of the city door. The chains were connected to big reel spinners. The brute force warriors were going to retract the door in case of any attack.

The spinners were connected to the ground with iron rods that went deep into the ground. The retractable bridge was going to work as a third gate, as it would come in front of the city iron gate. So, finally, the design of the doors and the bridge was complete, and my city was safe.

Now I had to design the small paths that would connect every house and every storage to each other, and I will have to add lamps to increase visibility during the night. My city design was finally complete, and now it was waiting for the completion of construction.

I took a seat and stared up at the open sky. With all this work being undergone, my settlement was quickly becoming a thriving city. I still had much to go. I definitely needed to increase the efficiency of my resource collecting and build up my strength if I wanted to go against some of the highest-ranked humans.

As I thought about it, for some reason, the idea that the zombies could be someone's system came into my mind. What if the zombies weren't naturally part of the world?

What if someone was controlling the zombies... like my system.

It was a scary thing to think about. But it would definitely explain the sudden difficulty spikes.

I took a deep breath.
