Several days passed and Killer Winter was nearing its end.

Today was supposedly the day when we'd receive our Rank Rewards.

I took a seat on my bed and waited for the inevitable announcement.

Before long, the two items appeared in my inventory.

After receiving them, I decided to take out my [Silver Armband] and wrap it around my bicep. It fit quite snuggly, squeezing against my arm. However, the main thing I was interested in was its ability, the fact that it multiplied all resource gain by 1.5x.

I left the hut and walked through the main entrance. I then made my way to the nearest tree I could find and took out my [Fine Logger's Axe].

I see what it meant now. It straight up just multiplied the sources I gained by 1.5. It was certainly very useful, an artefact which only accentuated the power of the upper ranks. Now, after equipping the armband, I wanted to see what this 'Shadow Realisor' did.

I held it in my hand, and from what I could see, it did absolutely nothing.

What is this used for...?

I tried swinging it around for a little but it still didn't seem to do anything. Seeing as I couldn't get it to do something, I decided to just put it back into my inventory for the time being. It'd probably be revealed soon enough of its ability.

Today was the last day before the end f Killer Winter. I expected a lot more action once Killer Winter was concluded, as a result, I wanted to organise my army and all of my resources.

When I looked through my Advanced System Controls, I noticed that my Tier 4 Archer Scout Minion had finished training. With that, I replaced the Minion which was holding the 'Knight' elite position. My army was steadily improving, with hundreds of Minions being built and all of the Minions slowly specialising and increasing in strength.

I decided that my Combat Divison was already quite large, so I could begin investing more resources into the Resource-Gathering Division. I wasn't really too worried about anything in particular at this point, but I still had space to improve in terms of strength.

My progression hasn't been as fast as I'd have liked during the past few days. I seemed to have stagnated to some extent since the number of resources I'd been gathering wasn't growing as much as I'd expected. However, there were likely going to be some pretty big changes once Killer Winter ended so I was making preparations for it.

I was pretty bored, waiting for the final day to pass. I decided that if I wasn't going to do anything, I might as well collect some wood. I noticed that sparring with my Warrior Minion wasn't really that useful, so in the end, I just resorted to strengthening my arms by chopping down trees, until I could find a better way to improve my physique.

I found a nice spot where I had a wide area to swing my axe around. I took out my [Fine Logger's Axe] and smashed its blade into the tree, shaking leaves off of the top.

Ah, I was still getting used to the larger number of resources that I was getting. It was certainly satisfying to see the improved efficiency. Although, now that I thought about it, the top 5 would now be increasing the distance between us, since they had even stronger armbands.

It was a pretty odd system. The top 10 and top 5 humans are now going to exponentially increase the gap between them and everyone else. Now it was prestigious to have an armband, not only because of the buffs but also to show that you're an elite. With them, you basically solidified your position on the Global Rankings and proved to other people that you were in fact, very strong.

As I contemplated the various consequences, I continued to push my body, cutting into the wood of the tree.

My arm was slowly fatiguing as I cut into the tree. I haven't really been doing a lot the last few days, I did some more logging here and there, but for the most part, I had been progressing pretty slowly. I continued to chop trees, waiting for the day to come to a close.

I continued this cycle of resting and working for several hours until finally, the night was steadily approaching. I set up dinner for the two of us and waited for my Minions to return and distribute the resources. I made my way inside and took a seat on the bed, listening to the fizzling of the fire and watching the pot of stew slowly cook.

Time passed as I made preparations for the night.

Chloe returned and my Minions were on standby.

Little did I know about what was to come in the next few days.
