Chapter 91 Forceful Friendship

Hold on, Killer Winter only lasts 7 more days? That's way shorter than what was previously announced... well, it's not like I can do anything about it.

Also, I decided to take a look at the Global Rankings again, apparently, its size has increased, along with the addition of rewards.

I had no idea what these [Shadow Realisors] were but I assumed they'd be a weapon or tool of some sort. Also, now that I thought about it, these rewards seem to only be making the rich richer... I guess the world wasn't fair.

I guess it kind of makes sense, the world is trying to separate out the 'elites' for whatever purpose.

...

Suddenly, there was a loud crunching sound somewhere in the forest beside me.

I quickly jumped back and put my hand on the grip of [Mayuri-Luc-Ei], dropping my axe on the ground. As it hit the group with a thump, I heard a familiar voice.

"Ah, sorry to have frightened you."

It was Robbie again.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm just bored, you know..."

He was looking at me, standing awkwardly in the middle of the forest. I walked to the wall and talked to him, he seemed to be in a relaxed mood so I wasn't too worried.

"Uh..."

"I've been wandering around, talking with people, but they're all so annoying."

"Am I not annoying?"

"Nah, you're actually fun to talk to."

"Am I now..."

He took a few steps closer to the wall, leaning down and putting his arms on the top of the wall. I wasn't really sure what he wanted from me. After a short moment of silence, he began nagging me once again.

"Hey, hey~"

"What?"

"Let's hang out."

"No."

"Eh?!"

He was quite distressed upon hearing my response.

In shock, he jumped back and looked at me despondently. I wasn't really sure what hanging out entailed, especially in this apocalyptic world. For all I knew, he might have been luring me into the forest before murdering me, granted, I doubted that it was his intention. Still, I wanted to collect some more resources and work out my body.

My Minions were just about going on their expeditions, so they were slowly making their way out of the settlement, to the other side of the wall. They were moving in little groups, as I specified and they ventured out into the forest.

"Please~"

"I don't know what you want from me..."

"Actually, do you like liquor?" he suddenly asked.

"Not really."

"Ah, how about apple juice?"

"I mean I don't mind it..."

"I've got a blender, let's make some!"

"U—"

Suddenly, he jumped over the wall into the settlement. I quickly took a step back but I decided not to draw my weapon. It wasn't like he was here to cause chaos anyways. I doubted that I'd be able to defeat him in a fight anyways.

He took a blender out of his inventory and placed it on the ground.

"It's battery-powered~"

"Okay..."

Right after, he took some apples and a knife out of his inventory as well. He crudely cut the apple flesh off with the knife and placed the pieces into the blender. A few moments later, he put on the lid and the loud machine churned.

After a little while, he turned off the machine and poured the contents into two small cups. He then added some water and sugar before passing one of the cups to me.

"Try some!"

"I guess."

I drank the apple juice he gave me. It wasn't bad, the apples here were honestly pretty fresh and it was nice to drink something that wasn't water for the first time in a while. He also seemed to be enjoying his freshly-squeezed apple juice.

I returned the cup to him as I got up off the ground.

"Hey, do you want to go raid one of the nearby settlements?" he asked.

Now actually, this seemed interesting.

"I don't think there are any nearby, are there?"

"I saw one a few hundred metres that way, they were really annoying, constantly asking me to do boring stuff even though I didn't even want to be there."

"Couldn't you have just left?"

"I tried, but they kept bugging me to stay. They're nice but they're the annoying type of nice."

"I mean I'd be down, I guess."

"Alright!"

Well, it seems that I'd just organised a raid with the fifth-rank human. I didn't exactly know how I felt about all of this but I guess he was probably strong enough to deal with whatever resistance they could muster. I didn't mind getting some more resources and exercise anyways.

I called over two Residential Scout Minions; all of my Warrior Minions; Knight and Rook. It was a pretty strong force in terms of what I had. Most of my Minions were out on expeditions so I hoped that Robbie would be strong enough to take out most of their defences.

Without hesitation, Robbie leapt back over my wall and I followed behind.

"Anyways, how are we going to split the loot?" he asked.

"Um, half-half would make sense?"

"Alright! I just wanted to sort it out beforehand."

We continued to run through the forest until finally, there was a settlement in the distance. It was quite a small one, populated by only a few people.

"That's it."

I was still somewhat suspicious of Robbie so I made sure to keep an eye on him at all times. [Mayuri-Luc-Ei] and [Tengen-Ko-Rin] were always within reach if I needed to get into some quick combat. With a few of my Minions following behind me, we started making our way closer to the settlement.
